NovaCorp found itself in a bit of an uproar after the mutiny aboard the Destiny. The Directors tried to think of what to do, large decisions where made and later discarded, legal action was considered against the Nepleslians, and then dismissed for being completely and utterly ridiculous. However in this flux things began to get done, and one of them was Ephesus, at this time either completely separate from the squabbles of NovaCorp or actively stirring things up with the same fascination someone would have by poking an anthill, began designing a new range of ships, and one of these was the Onslaught.
For this he had to rework a lot of what had come before, but it was a task he took on happily (it was in the morning, he’d had his coffee). In the larger scale of things it was because NovaCorp was seen to have no reasonably powerful ships, apart from the reasonably intimidating, but effectively stationary, border monitoring stations. NovaCorp needed something more, a range of ships, which it could call its own, while still remaining within the recent restrictions placed upon them in terms of military force, which is why only a handful are currently constructed for the use of NovaCorp. The design was of course completely open to the government of Yamatai .
Ultimately the design was not successful and was eventually scrapped along with all models of its type.
