The Roller Bomb is an unconventional weapon idea designed by NovaCorp in order to design a semi-intelligent weapon which could get around defenses and serve to be effective against both infantry and more heavy targets.
It consists of a dark gray ceramic sphere four inches in diameter with two advanced polymer 'tracks' running across its surface designed to provide the highest amount of traction on all surfaces, intersecting each other like a cross at two points. When the bomb is programmed and released the two tracks roll at high speeds, resulting in the sphere moving at great speeds along the floor, but with sufficient traction and velocity to even roll up surfaces, moving in a highly irregular path until it reaches its target and detonates.
The weapon comes with two alternate payloads. One is Octanitrocubane, a substance 20-25 times more powerful than HMX, and carries a DR 3 effect within a two meter area, and a DR 2 effect within 20 meters. The other is a magnetically contained anti-matter payload consisting of 4 micro grams, equivalent to 40 tonnes of TNT and carrying a DR 5 within five meters, DR 4 within 20 meters and so forth.
The weapon can be programmed or remotely controlled using a wrist remote or through a SQUID interface. Once launched it can be fed sensory data from a plethora of sources, although it does not have any sensors itself.
