The Star Army of Yamatai (邪馬台 の 星軍隊) is the military arm of the Yamatai Star Empire. It is the namesake of this website and its main roleplay group. The Star Army is managed by Wes.
Established in YE 21 and enshrined in the The Constitution of Yamatai Star Empire, the Star Army of Yamatai is primarily a Space Navy but also contains a growing number of planetary operations units. It is the most widely recognized force in the known galaxy and performs a wide range of strategic, tactical, and humanitarian missions. The Star Army is best known for its size, its advanced ships and its heavy use of Nekovalkyrja. Most Star Army soldiers are volunteers. Yamataian names for the Star Army include the formal/romantic Yamatai no Hoshiguntai (Yamatai's Army of the Stars) and the practical uchuugun 宇宙軍 (Space Army).

The Star Army of Yamatai contains over a dozen uniquely configured fleets and several dozen organizations that perform functions such as intelligence gathering, personnel management, and logistics. The Star Army uses very advanced equipment and is known for its fast, well-armed starships, energy weapons, and power armored Nekovalkyrja.
Most Star Army Uniforms are blue-gray #223460 with light blue-gray #AEB6CA pants with color-coded color panels indicating a soldier's occupation. Working uniforms are in dark blue. A black double-breasted jacket and a blue-gray sailor cap with “STAR ARMY” in gold on a black ribbon is used with duty uniforms. A Camouflage field uniform is used for some ground operations. On all uniforms, the Star Army Hinomaru insignia patch is positioned on the right arm halfway between the shoulder and the elbow.
Star Army starships are painted in a ceil color (Warship Hull Paint #ADADC6) with dark gray details. The Star Army Hinomaru is marked on the dorsal centerline of Star Army ships and on one or both wings of aerospace craft. Imperial Registry Numbers are on most starships.
