MissingNo

The latest screen name taken by a Real Life NPC commonly known as “Missing”, “amissingnumber”, or, less commonly, “M#”.

Backstory

A frequently lurking RP player on the old YIM user-made rooms, Missing stumbled across the Star Army RP when Wes was playing Ketsurui Yui (“Kitsurugi Yui” at the time; she adopted the clan name of Ketsurui Chiharu after the latter's death in YE 25) in one of those user-rooms one day and followed the links in his Yahoo! user info page to the original bloodycatgirl.com website. Intrigued by the concept of the bioweapon described in the NH-7 User Manual, Missing joined the SARP and the crew of the GSS Yui (GD-40) at the end of their first mission. This was around the beginning of 2003, which was late YE 24 on the in-universe timeline.

Starting out as a low-ranking player, Missing caught on quickly. Missing's first character, Araiah Jal, was quickly accepted and had much success until Jal's death in 2004 (YE 26). After introducing a friend to the RP, inadvertently causing some minor drama, and after the SARP moved from the EZboard server to its new home, Missing left the RP.

In the summer of 2007, Missing returned at the urging of the Avatar of Kohana, introducing three new characters within a few months. The multi-character streak started with Winter Swifteyes, was continued by Tweak Three Seven, and finished with Nelew "Nel" Enev'rana (these three were a Kohanian, an amnesiac Freespacer-adopted neko, and a sort of technological progeny of Araiah, respectively).

Traits, Techniques, and Trademarks

As a player, MissingNo is known for characters with memorable quirks and abilities that push the line of what is normally accepted, barely passing the character approval process, but also for playing those characters well. Prefers character development and social RP to action, but also enjoys a good adventure or bout of melee combat. Contributions to the tech side of the RP have become rare, but a few have made it through. Missing is also a proof-reading freak with an odd penchant for being able to create acronyms out of any letter combination.

Missing's OOC behavior ranges from childishly hyper and punny to being over-literal and inventive while swinging widely between idealism and pragmatism. Usually up for a JP, or an SP spree, at the drop of a hat, when time allows.

Time Zone and Scheduling

Missing hails from the PST/PDT time zone and may be randomly encountered along the shores of the StarArmy channel on the IRC continent and on the SARP Forum Islands. May be summoned to IRC via a message board PM, though there is usually lag between the summon and arrival if a prearranged time is not set. Sometimes (rarely) appears on YIM under the screen name amissingnumber.

Whether this has ill effects on your saved games is unown at this time.
