The camera turned on focused on the chest of a young woman wearing a black tank top that was standing too close to the lens. She quickly stood back and turned on the sound. The young woman was slender and fair skinned with long curly black hair and deep ocean blue eyes. She was about 16 or 17 and was tall for a Geshrin, her dark skirt accentuated just how long her legs were.
"HII! Mr Davis!! It's me, Ami! I wanted to call you and let you know that I'm okay! I haven't seen you since Hotaru and then I was evacuated to Fortuna for a while but Miss Ember found me and adopted me! Isn't that cool? I'm on Leo now and I wanted to let you know that I am growing up big and strong like I promised!
The Marines that rescued us during the war were super nice and I kinda want to be a Marine now! Miss Ember says that I have to wait a bit to make a decision. But how are you? Is your son okay? I would love to hear from you again!" Her voice was girlish and bubbly and her hands moved excitedly as she spoke. She seemed to remember something and reached over the camera again, pulling a battered green Sky Marshall cap from it.
She placed the hat on her head and beamed. "This is my prized possession and I have managed to keep it all this time. It's my good luck charm. You've kept me safe all this time. I gotta go but please call me back!"
Ami did a little salute and blew the camera a kiss before the transmission ended.
