Personally, I don't mind if it gets turned down or not, but personally I do not wish to see any more changes to the page aside from the name. I don't know how Jack will like it, considering he was adamant about calling it The Aetheric Buster Sword.

I'm assuming that is MAJOR changes, but stuff like formatting and such you'd be ok with to get it through? otherwise you might want to make sure it's utterly perfect XD
 
I have no problem with the need for edits as I understand. And I do want to hopefully see this passed. As for ketsurai manufacturing, I have no idea who manufactures for the SAoY. The damage tier can also be lowered if that is too high. We're there any other specific issues with this?
 
I don’t mean to be rude or anything, but I have a few concerns:
  • Why would Ketsurui Fleet Yards - the manufacturer of Star Army equipment - utilize this over the tried-and-true Aether Beam Saber Rifle, especially when it takes so long to transform between modes?
  • How are the nanites capable of withstanding the highly-destructive forces of aetheric energy?
  • Wouldn’t being constructed of nanites - as opposed to a single piece of material - render the shield extremely vulnerable to kinetic damage?
Edit: Also, wouldn’t damage to the sword - or vice-versa - compromise the shield’s integrity?

Because it is option that doesn't consume ammo, or require a cool down.
The blade is not made of nanites, they simple reconfigure it.
The Aetheric field is generated around the blade's edge.
Finally, when in shield mode, the aether emitter generates a aether field in front of the front face of the shield as a primary layer of defense.
 
The ABSR - which doesn’t utilize any ammunition besides armor-supplied energy - doesn't require a cooldown for its rapid-fire mode or its sword, @Jack Pine, and what is the blade made of, then? There isn’t a material listed on the ABS’ wiki article, nor is there any mention of an “aether emitter” - and isn’t the “entirety of the blade” and the entirety of the shield (“...shield that can be coated in a field of aether energy...”) covered in aether energy as opposed to just the “blade’s edge and “in front of the front face of the shield?”

Lastly, wouldn’t a single piece of metal inherently possess more strength/durability/etc. then something that’s designed to be broken down and rebuilt?
 
One issue I see is the nanomachines. I've noticed that you tend to rely on them a lot Jack, and I'd like to see you leave them behind to make articles without relying on them when things like invisibility or transformation are concerned. But that's just a personal hope.

What's more of an issue is that Nanomachines of that caliber that can de and reconstruct the blade in a matter of seconds don't exist in the wiki. No one makes nanomachines that can do that. Even the SAoY's nodal fabrication module can only make simple items such as clothing or utility items. Nothing on the level of triggers and aether emitters.
 
You're going to have to make this scientifically plausible and change DR. You're going to have to take off pricing if this was made on Kaiyō and make it available only to SAoY personnel. Please make these changes in the submission. Brainstorming in the thread is fine, but mods have asked for changes that are not being seen done in the article.

As Arbs said she can't do NTSE for a bit, I'll take this over unless @META_mahn has it under control.

On top of what Alex said, Yamatai HATES selling Aether tech. In fact it’s probably concerning to them that Jack has a Geist which could allow him to steal blueprints off the shield.

That and I’m pretty sure the shield description is classified under bombastic? Regardless, the shield has no protection tier and Aether sheathing a shield makes little to no sense. It won’t protect you against anything, really.
 
I don't know, I still stand by what I said with not changing the article. What Jack and I have already put down should be sufficient enough for use.

Honestly, I fail to see why we aether energy shielding isn't useful; maybe it can melt ballistic ammo or absorb aether energy rounds.

As for scientific plausibility... I don't have anything, so I say nanomachines are still our best bet. Even if its slower than the ASBR when it transforms.
