Are their age requirements were you would have to be in a specific RPP? Let's say if I were to try and make a girl character that is actually a guy and is bisexual. Would that have to go in a specific RPP?

To play in the Sakura, YOU have to be 18. Other than that, there aren't age requirements in the SARP, other than suspension of disbelief (no one will believe a 14-year-old is in the Star Army).

I'm well over 18. So something like that would have to be in the Sakura and no other RPP am I correct.
The character could go anywhere, theoretically. ICly, age isn't a real element that's considered for where a character can go -- unless they're just way too young for anyone to believe.
In regards to IC requirements for age, I fee some elaborations should be made.
Can you make a 17 year old greenhorn and put them o n 18+ ship, while not cutting yourself from the fact the ship revolves around 18+ or at least has enough 18+ activites being open and available on the ship to potentially make them a "No touch". What are the age of consent with various factions and species?
With the Vekimen, AoC is 5 years old. It's standardized because the Kiraten grow by far the fastest of all the Vekimen, and to make it any higher would make the VDTF's life a living hell, trying to stop all those 100% mature adult vekimen from doing what they want. However, a Sivaro isn't a fully mature adult until they are between 13 and 15. A Laderen until they are 8.

As long as everyone in the RP is an adult and you're not depicting underage characters having sex, it's probably okay.

Somehow I imagine that among Freespacers, rather than having a legal age of consent, they instead vote on whether a pairing is Hot or Not, and if they vote 'Not', then that ship isn't going to sail, even if it's totes adorbs. I'm sure that could theoretically prevent any relationships with a power imbalance occurring, which is more to the point, and more of a sore spot for Freespacers in particular.
That's a bit off-topic, though. More to the point, Freespacers aren't really adults until they're at least 5. That's the youngest one could be expected to be found on a plotship. Wt that age, they won't have completed their tertiary education yet, which could be pretty limiting to their role-playing opportunities.
