Notes: So the stuff that I got approved last still hasn't shown up in RP, though I do intend to have it be mentioned as soon as we get to a point where social stuff can happen on the Eucharis. Similarly, there is no immediate plan for using this in RP. Wazu likes to be prepared, and this is the kind of stuff he thinks about when not doing something else, so having the ability for him to bust out a starship design at a moments notice is kinda cool.

Ultimately, this might make its way to the 188604 plot. They will be in need of some cheap starships at some point and I like the idea of a power armor mission to take the engines off the ship, tie them down to a comet, and move said comet towards the planet for ice harvesting.

I'll take this.

First, before anything else — small-time manufacturing was OK'd, but you're not a faction manager and you lack a real corporation.

That is covered in the submission. For the time being its just a design, there isn't any IC production of it yet.

Just because it isn't being produced, doesn't mean it won't be used in RP. I would like to know that the item in question is approve-able before I have my character go out and try to get it made.

I also don't think 'intent to produce' is required as part of the submission guidelines.

I don't think 'in character concept designs' need to be approved to be mentioned in RP. Plus it's best that an article actually be in production when approved so that what's getting approved is it's final form, and the production limit is already determined so that the approver can know if it should be possible for the producer mentioned to make that many.

Production runs are generally covered by the military buildup guidelines, GMs, or FMs, not in approvals. This has also finished its concept stage and is 'ready to build'.

All that would be left to do after approval is to actually start using it in RP.

Right now, what you have is a design. A design that isn't intended to be used by anyone else, so far as the flavor text suggests. Nor does it appear that it's going to be put into production any time soon in a way that the setting can use.

That falls under "needed and/or useful to the setting." As in, a design no one has but you and your chars, and no one has the ability to produce but you and your chars, is not useful and/or needed to the setting.

As well, you don't get to submit "design ideas". That means the submission isn't finished, i.e. not ready for review. I classify that as "not in the proper format," another submission requirement.

When you submit an actual product, something a player can pick up and use out the gate, then we can talk.

Beyond that, the containers need to be put up for separate review.

A worthwhile note, h/t @Foxtrot 813: the rule of thumb establishes that max DR at any given time can be only 2x of the firing ship's SP (in this case, 50).

This is all the more reason that the components need to be submitted separate of the the ship, considering right now, 324 SDR1 lasers will not necessarily do the damage intended by the shooter.

As stated in the first post, this will probably make its way towards the 188604 plot. Uso and Ragnarok are going to need some ships at some point. This happens to fit a lot of what they need. Wazu tends to be Uso's go-to guy when it comes to getting stuff and the next round of JPs involve her going to different factions and looking to trade food for equipment. Much like the previous gear submitted handing a copy of the design to Aeisu to do with what she pleases is in the cards, and it'll be nice to have a decent design ready for any upcoming interaction with the Garts (which may also be on the horizon but no plans have been discussed yet). This ship is starting its RP life a bit earlier in development than most other ships, namely at the procurement stage rather than having it poof into being ready to use.

Besides, as I read it I would think that this explanation for holding off on the review would also disqualify any personal item submitted for the setting.

The "rule of thumb" is that regardless of how many guns you put on a ship, anything more than twice the ship's SP is not counted. So, for example, if the ship has 25 SP, the maximum DR is 50 against one target in one turn.

I didn't know about this rule, and it looks like it came as a surprise during the Primus Battleship submission too. Ultimately it doesn't seem like that big a deal though, despite only being able to dish out 50SP worth of damage a turn having all of those extra lasers means that it'll be putting out a consistent 50 damage at any range since it can simply throw misses at the target until it gets the hits it needs. This is certainly good to know, and it would be helpful to have that listed on the DR page.

Beyond that, the containers need to be put up for separate review.

I thought it would be easier to just list them all in this submission, but they certainly can be put up individually if you like. I'll create threads for them in a moment.

Let me know when it does, instread of "probably" and "toward". Then we can talk. As I said previously. Until then, the submission is on hold.

I'm shocked — shocked! — that your only real two chars on the site would interact this way. Shocked.

Even so, this does not justify moving the submission any farther along.

That's why it's not being reviewed at this time.

Incorrect.

A personal item submitted for the setting doesn't come from a corporation. It's a personal item — usually one that's already started finding its way into the setting through its owner, usually by that owner either buying it or building it.

If you want Wazu to be his own man, and not considered the de facto corporation you have suggested in the past, say so and we can scale this ship down to a more reasonable size and be built in a more reasonable time. If you want it to remain a corporation, that comes with added scrutiny.

I didn't know about this rule, and it looks like it came as a surprise during the Primus Battleship submission too. To be honest, I'd like Wes to confirm this rule through more than a two-year-old post. I brought it up because it made me think twice about the amount of boxed lasers you have on your Sputnik-like vessel. It was worth mentioning.

That said, damage ultimately is up to the GM, or between multiple GMs collaborating together.

I thought it would be easier to just list them all in this submission, but they certainly can be put up individually if you like. I'll create threads for them in a moment.
I appreciate it, though if they're in the same "design" state as the C5, they'll go on hold too.

Like you could just ask Doshii to unofficially review it in terms of stats while it's in your sandbox and then ask him to do an official review later that would go faster when it's ready for use.
Characters will approve of whatever it ends up being in RP as long as the people behind them still like the idea and want to work together.

Unofficial reviews are discouraged, though I appreciate the confidence.

Sandboxing it is a good idea, though as long as it's a WIP, that's as good as a sandbox. So you can keep it in its own WIP or create a sandbox WIP. All the same.

All WIPs belong in the wip: namespace. Remember that in June I'm going to be deleting any WIPs that haven't been moved there.
