Contains New art? Yes
Previously Submitted? Laser container was previously submitted, pretty much just resubmitted as-is since this is how the container is supposed to be used: as part of a weapon submission.

Notes:
The planet-cracking opreation has been mentioned a few times in RP, but it hasn't been put on the wiki yet.

This suggestion has been implemented. Votes are no longer accepted.
FSC can’t afford to build a 2 km long battleship Zack, and I cannot sign off on them helping with this.

And Uso’s Spent all her money bank rolling PMCs instead of her military

Additionally:

The laser containers you are trying to use were denied, permenantly, by @META_mahn.

The amount of unapproved articles is atrocious.

Twelve Tier 15 weapons is impossible to fit on anything in DRv3.

The "planet cracking operation" has not happened, thus this article refers to future events.

I, a potentially emotionally-compromised member of the NTSE moderation team, hereby REJECT this submission. The amount of infringement on basic pronciples also inclines me to bring attention to this article to the owner of Star Army, @Wes. For a less potentially-compromised review, please refer to either @META_mahn or @Ametheliana.

Once the rejected submission has had a checklist, I'd like this one to have one as well.

Links changed from the perfectly acceptable and far better 'laser container' article to the 'linked to where it was approved on the C5' even though NTSE mods got things wrong back then and had me re-work the part into the article explicitly against how the wiki says you should do it.

I can take this but you can bet your bottom dollar I won't until I chat with Wes about it.

Users not adding substantial and conducive commentary or criticism will be barred from the thread.

Alrighty-o. I, to put it mildly, have a lot of concerns about the C8 and its associated articles.

I was going to address the Laser Facility and the Defense Field Facility in this post, but, well, I'm tired after working a full eight-hour shift - thus I'll be addressing them in a post I make tomorrow.

This is my initial assessment. Nobody helped me when doing this at all in any way and I'm not totally and completely grateful to Frost for being so thorough.lies

just popping in cause i noticed PERFECT IRON,
im no expert and tbh i haven't looked at the article but it seems like it may be the assumed *perfect* form of Iron(Fe) in which there is no inconsistencies or foreign elements present, something we cant really do easily in today's science but since it's sarp, he may have assumed we'd have the technology to do.

then again i may be completely off and you can ignore/delete this then ^^

1: Went through and did a spell check

2: Name is C8, this has been fine for the previous C series star-ships and is the nomenclature for ships made by Wazu. No Wz needed, though that is sometimes used when writing out the full class designation.

3: It uses FSC parts, and has final assembly at Howard Station so FSC needs to be listed. Rizzo should have cleared that up with Alex by now.

4: Its in the WIP section of the site. IE: Listed as a WIP.

5: Perfect Iron is just well made Iron. It's already listed on a few items on the site, and is mostly novacorp stuff but its not like a super-secret thing. Its just iron without imperfections.

6: Nerf the ability to keep operating when sliced in half? That's dumb. Its a 2km long ship and a computer that can run the whole thing fits in a 20x5x4m cargo container. Obviously you're going to have one of those near every major piece of equipment. Each cargo container also has its own power and other systems. Why would you even ask this?

7: Top speed is listed in the speed section under top speed, showing the fastest the ship can move. Don't just read Frost's review when reviewing the article.

8: Subspace Radar range now listed as 1ly to match the previous subspace radar submissions.

9: Optimally there is no rear barrier, there are just two front and 4 movable barriers for a total of 6. Really its just the normal 6 facing barrier but instead of transferring power between shields there are moving turrets to adjust shield facing. It shouldn't even need any extra approvals.

10: By what metric is 12 tier 15 weapons overpowered? The Primus, a Tier 14 ship which should have exactly half the firepower of a Tier 15 ship has the equivalent of 5.812 Tier 15 weapons. This is even before counting the Primus's large compliment of fighters and their anti-ship missiles. The C8 is a fast-constructed Warship that's supposed to be comparable to other people's smaller battleships. Its intentionally underpowered and nerfing it further is kinda silly.

The Primus, a Tier 14 ship
*buzz*

Sorry, rule violation. No comparing to other subs. Oh, and I agree -- it's overpowered. 12 T15 weapons on a T15 is a smidgeon OP, and complemented by a stupid amount of OTHER weapons it's definitely OP.

Nerf the ability to keep operating when sliced in half
Because I also deem that as OP. I've had the gracious experience to face stuff like this first-hand in Reassembly where my single-core automated ships fight multi-core automated ships *cough* @Arbitrated *cough* and I will say that it is not enjoyable and it's 200% munchkin.

*mumbles something about friggen' multicore glitch abuse*

It shouldn't even need any extra approvals.
There's definite limits to how much you can shield-stack with a typical six-face while this can point multiple towards forwards and bypass the shield stack limit. So, at the bare minimum it needs to be approved.

1: Thank you

2: Just add -class (type) to the name, which you have done.

3: @Alex Hart can it use FSC parts?

4: It's*

5: Spend a few sentences describing Perfect Iron, but yeah this material is all over the wiki as it is. Think about making it its own article in the future??

6: "it is possible to keep parts of the ship operational even if they have been sheered off." Explain this the same way you did in the thread, just with less chutzpah.

7: good

8: good

9: Explain that there is no rear barrier in the article.

10: @Fred what do you think about the weapons on this behemoth? I know DRv3 was cut down to not include 8 same type weapons, which was simple and good, so what is your opinion here?

@Ametheliana I’ll claim this submission, if you want. I have a feeling it’s flying more towards my field of expertise.

In essence I think what Zack is saying is that essentially you can stick those computer boxes everywhere and whenever a piece gets shot off, the computers in each piece control the separate pieces. This means you can in theory have a C8 broken into 12 pieces, each firing a Tier 15 laser each with some means of propulsion by itself. It’s absolute hell for your targeting systems and really your best (but not good) option to deal with it is a beam weapon PD.

4: fixed

5: Added a bit about perfect iron the first time it is mentioned. It'll probably get used again since a single material is going to be better than an alloy in this exact situation (edit: and the reasons why are good for another article), and I want to do a few more ships of this size in the very near future. I think that is something for after this is all sorted though.

6: It's listed that way in multiple places throughout several of the articles that are a part of this.

9: It isn't that there is no rear barrier, it is just that shield facings can be moved around mechanically instead of through transferring power from one facing to the other. The shield rules already cover this including doubling up on shield facings, or dumping all your power into just one facing.
