====== Expeditionary Cruiser Os-C-04 Stellar Road Class ======

===== 1. About the Stellar Road =====
This ship was designed by Carthage Project scientists and engineers as the command cruiser for the Viridian expeditionary fleet. The Stellar Road is similar in function to a battle cruiser. The ship can also carry modules containing cargo, fighter bays, or various other things. The ship boasts slightly better laboratory sections then that of most Nepleslian ships.

The ship also has a large main gun to clear space debris and to defend it and its fleet from enemy warships. The ship has adequate defenses for a deep space exploration vessel and can carry its own extensive range of modules, thus reducing the need for and strain on transport ships. These external modules also allow the ship to refresh its supplies by simply swapping them out for full ones from a transport as well.

===== 2. History and Background =====
This grand ship had been on the design board much longer then its little brother the Perry Class, and upon final approval of the Perry the command ship's designers were able to finalize a good part of the design. As such, the dock workers and engineers were able to avoid many of the problems they had with the Perry's construction and began construction, launching the ship just a few months after the first batch of Perry class ships had been completed.

===== 5. Inside the Ship =====

==== Deck Layout ====
The ships decks are arranged one on top of another, stacked and are connected by lifts and maintenance corridors with ladders.

==== Compartment Layouts ====

=== Armory ===
There are 26 armories on the ship, located every other deck, fore and aft.
These armories are fully stocked with the latest Nepleslian weapons as of YE 32. Each armory requires a ranking Sergeant or higher to access it.

=== Bridge ===
The Stellar Road has a more modern bridge layout compared to most Nepleslian ships, with the captain situated at the center of the bridge with the helmsmen and tactical officer to the fore of him, and the science and engineering stations at the aft. The Stellar Road's interface systems are comprised of touch-screen interfaces and tactile response key interfaces. The front of the bridges hull is comprised of a large view screen capable of projecting three dimensional images several feet in front of it along with a surround sound stereo system built into the surrounding bridge walls.

=== Captain's Suite ===
Officers Quarters: These rooms are slightly larger, with the captains being the largest, and are fully furnished with the latest in sleek plastic furniture. This furniture is also capable of folding flush into the room's walls by the simple push of a button. All knick knacks, trophies, and adult items are neatly stored in retractable shelving.

=== Cargo Storage Areas ===
The ship has four large cargo holds located in the forward hull. Each hold is spacious and able to hold a sufficient amount of cargo and supplies for 2 years.
=== Crew Quarters ===
Each crewman has their own quarters for the normally long missions away from port. These are normally sparse, consisting of typical bed and shiny new plastic executive desk with a computer console on top, except for commanding officers whose quarters also have an array of shelving which often displays awards, commendations, and ship models.
The quarters for marines and ground troops are comprised of stacked bunks (Made of metal with polyester mattresses) and personal trunks (Made from pressed wood composite)

=== Crew Recreation ===
Commanding officers have their own washroom while there is one restroom for every 5 crew members.
The ship has ten mess halls, seven fore three aft, each capable of holding 600 people.

Recreation: The ship has a recreation center with a spa, showers, basketball court, various combat simulators, video games, and a weight room. There is also a lounge that can hold 100 crew members and a stage.
=== Engineering ===
Running decks 30 high at the aft of the ship, the Stellar Road class has one of the most efficient and powerful reactor systems to date. A minimal engineering crew of 30 can operate the ship under normal conditions. All 30 decks can be reached via ladder in the event of mass power loss.
=== Maintenance Conduits ===
The ship has an adequate number of maintenance corridors, which can be sealed either manually from inside the shafts or from various control stations on the ship. These corridors are made of some of the most resilient alloys that make up the ship, and are not very comfortable to climb thru due to their hard inner surface and use of ladders for vertical ascension at evenly spaced junctions.
=== Medical Center and Laboratory ===

*Section 1: The Stellar Road has one of the largest scientific laboratories of any ship in the expeditionary fleet, with the ability to accommodate over four hundred science personnel. There are eight decks in the forward section of the ship equipped with mission variable laboratory spaces, stellar cartography, and the ship's twelve main medical bays. The ship's medical bay serves the needs of the crew with a spacious infirmary, examination alcoves, and operating rooms.

*Section 2: This section, located between the rear of the forward hull and the cargo spine, contains 8 medbays, with 4 designed for battle casualties demanding immediate surgery.
This section also contains most of the holding cells on the ship.

*Section 3: The third section of laboratories is located towards the rear of the ship between the cargo spine and engineering section. These include Biology/Xenobiology, Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and other labs as well as two storage facilities for containment of specimens large and small and of various risk levels. The labs are among the most advanced in all of the Nepleslian territories.

=== Passageways ===
Corridors are well lit, and the overall lighting changes to red when the ship is in combat. The floors are composed of a light colored composite while the floor is composed of plates made up of open hexagonal forms to improve traction
=== Power Armor Bays ===
The ships two fighter bays and large aft shuttlebay can also serve as Power Armor launch bays.
=== Shuttle Bays ===
The ship's exterior is equipped with one large shuttlebay located aft/dorsal which is a force field-contained opening in the hull. The bay makes it possible for shuttles to fly out into space at their convenience. This bay is normally sealed via a large sliding segmented door.
The fighter bays are similar in construction, with two large bays located on the fore hull, one to port and one to starboard. The launch bays are staffed by an elite flight deck crew due to the amount of time the ship would spend away from port.
=== Wardroom ===
Located on deck 3, the wardroom is where the captain and commanding officers eat. There is a large wooden table that fills the center of the long, rectangular room, with comfortable chairs around it.

===== 6. Ship Systems =====

==== Armored Hull and Hull Integrated Systems ====

*Hull: Composed of thick panels of Neutronium-coated steel around a carbon nanotube frame and Mercurite anti-radiation shielding, the Stellar Road's hull provides fairly good protection.

*Airlock System: The primary airlocks are located at the fore of the vessel, both dorsal and ventral. An airlock is a device which permits the passage of objects, people, and the like, between a pressure vessel and its surrounding space while minimizing the change of pressure—and loss of air—in the vessel. The lock consists of two airtight doors in series which do not open simultaneously.

*Module system: The Stellar Road can carry 12 Modular cargo units. The module system is the measurement of standard cargo capacity. Each "Cargo Moduleâ€

Bridge: The Stellar Road has a more modern bridge layout compared to most Nepleslian ships, with the captain situated at the center of the bridge with the helmsmen and tactical officer to the fore of him, and the science and engineering stations at the aft. The Stellar Road's interface systems are mostly manual, with keyboards, knobs and switches dominating the ships controls.
That doesn't seem more modern - in fact, it's extremely standard.

Crew Quarters: Each crewman has their own quarters for the long missions away from port. These are normally sparse except for commanding officers. The quarters for marines and ground troops are comprised of stacked bunks and personal trunks.

Officers Quarters: These rooms are slightly larger, with the captains being the largest, and are fully furnished.
What sort of furniture is in them (sleek new plastic? Vintage wood furniture from planetside?) and how it is arranged?

Everything else looks good.

I dig the speed. Thanks for using moderation! I also dig the science section. That beats any Star Army ship I know besides Star Fortresses.

He needs to RP out his corp more before he makes additional ships.

Other than that, I echo Wes.

I basically just raped the Takumi for comparison. I couldn't seem to find any other similar designs besides that.And each government has different tech levels. X_x
And I try to do stuff in moderation, especially when I have something to compare it to. Most of the Stellar road's weapon stats, etc are simply four times the amount of that found on the Perry. Cause it's roughly 4-6 times as big.

You want to know what's modern in human/computer interfaces?

Here, it's touch screens with tactile and electrical feedback under one's fingers and neural interfaces.

It's quite common for a helsman to be linked directly to the ship to explain the situation and funnel commands into the ship.

1, ‘viridian' should probably have a capital letter.

2, I'm not sure ‘lovely' is really a appropriate term ...

3, ‘its' not ‘it's'.

4, Has it really been IC months?

5, You're not using the right nomenclature.

6, So ... very ... much ... like ... Sovereign/Prometheus.

7, So it can't enter the atmosphere at all?

8, Resupply isn't a word.

9, I will comment that actually your bridge seems really quite retro. Nigh
on primitive. No volumetric projections or bio-neural interfaces.

10, Is there a carpet on the corridors? Or is it plain metal?

11, More details on the quarters would be great. Especially if you actually
want to RP in it.

12, Every crewman having their own quarters? On a warship? Doesn't
sound very economical.

13, Where does the food come from?

14, You really must detail the Amenities. Currently it's impossible to imagine RPing. Stating where they are relative to everything else would be
rather good too.

15, What sort of equipment can be found in the Lavatories?

16, Some actually detail of the layout of these bays would actually allow RP to happen.

17, Layout of mess hall and the way food is served would be good for the
RPing.

18, Again some more detail about what is actually in the Recreation area –
details of the gym, pool and especially spa would be vital if you want to RP
with the ship.

19, The armouries – any locking system on them?

20, Bad Neutronium! Very bad Neutronium! A single gram of Neutronium
ways millions of tones! While the ultimate protection it is also almost
completely useless since without gravity like that on the surface of a
Neutron star it will instantly explode!

21, AM-M won't produce the energy you want. Certainly not in the way
you're describing.

22, How do the Airlocks works?

23, Some more stats on the Escape Pods would make good for RP eventuality.

24, How do the Environmental and Atmospheric generators work? Normally through splitting carbon dioxide and such things – but a little more detail would be a welcome addition.

25, I'm afraid you really haven't explained how your ‘Collapsed Dimensional Shielding' system works, or how you can ‘wrap' this dimension. I'm afraid as far I'm concerned it's just big words until you explain it in practice.

26, Economic? Economic? This ship is not at all economic – it flies in the face of economic. As such I don't see there is much reason to have that part in the description of Mercurite – a material which is not explained anyway. More importantly – now can a material shield be ‘kept up'?

27, Not holographic. Volumetric.

28, Again, its not ‘it's'.

29, ... We've been trying to cut down on the total devastation weapons, and yet you have one which has total destruction over a 150 mile cubic area. Well that's just dandy.

30, I can't actually comment on the rest of the weapons since they're taken of NDI and thus canon. I'm still not a fan of the tech behind it though.

31, Shuttles need more detail if you want to use them in RP.

There isn't much I can add.

RazealK, I suggest you proof-read in the future and take careful note of your submission's standpoint in terms of originality next to existing ideas.

It might sound daft but I work my ass off quite often to make sure I'm submitting something new but at the same time, I try not to turn it into a msssive wall of text.

That echoes my thoughts right on the spot.

My suggestion to Razeal is the same I gave Zakalwe a few months ago. Learn how to format your text with forum tags to have it look better and air things. If people skim over stuff you write and end up getting a poor opinion of what the submission entailed simply because you haven't cared to make it presentable, you lose just the same.

This proves true for jobhunting resumes too. Learn to do that, and you'll be putting into practice something useful outside the SARP.

Sidenote: We should probably start requiring all new submissions be in Wiki format, ie:

Since the Carthage project was not approved along with the source of the SRP it will need remain undetermined, I am locking this thread until the source of how the organisation building this vessel could even manage to get it built in the first place be resolved.

Ships' "About the [Shipname]â€

To clarify, I ment that the source of the SR and the procurment of the SR to build the actual ship is supposed to be done in the shipyards forum and is something seperate from the cost in SR for the ship to be built.

Rather, not being able to afford to build the ship shouldn't be criteria for approval which is what I belive Kotori was trying to use as the grounds for locking the thread instead of locking it based on the lack of an SR cost listed in the ship's stat sheet.

I'm at work. Look at other vessels in the SARP to find out more about other weapons to use; the Wiki's articles are pretty well updated.
