After successfully freeing the trapped miners, the Gam'trosha's away team stayed on the planet for another day longer to help out with a few problems that the expedition had before returning to the ship. With its mission to deliver supplies completed, the ship now made its way back to the Homesystem...

Gam'trosha - 6 hours after leaving KI-1-54-9

Klaxen's blared, the ships internal lighting shifted from a gentle white to a more disturbing blue hue as alarms rang out through the halls, Sa'kira had been asleep in her quarters before being awoken by the alarms, she jumped from her bed and keyed the comms. "Bridge report!"

"Problems!~" was the only response that came.

"All crew report to stations at once!" Sa'kira announced through the ships intercom.

In engineers, sparks flew from the ships FTL Drive-Core, ranning down on some of the 'night' shift that were trying to do their jobs.

In medical, several unsecured containers fell to the ground, their contents spilling across the floor.

In the armory, where a few of the ships crew were doing inventory, weapons came lose from their housing and one - a grenade - fell out of a secure container, rolled across the ground, and then was struck by a static discharge that caused it to detonate; sending a resounding - but somewhat muted - 'boom' through the ship.

Shar woke up, her pet called Critter falling from her chest into her lap as she sat up. The riled up creature put one ear up and looked at the black furred Daur.

"Bloody hell, what now." The woman said. She grabbed the little furry creature and set it up on her pillow. Scratching its forehead as she did. With some grumble, to woman washed her face and put on her armoured suit. She did not even have time to clean the thing up after returning from the planet, too tired to really do anything.

The ship shook a little and Shar looked up.

"Oh bloody hell indeed." She said as she grabbed the belt with her hosltered pisto land sheathed sword. Opening the door and running for the armoury.

"This is is infantry leader to all infantry. I want you all in the armour pronto. On the double people!" The woman used her comm to issue orders and she sprinted.

In a minute she ran up the armoury, seeing a smoke coming up from the doorway.

"Fuck," Shar said and grabbed her comms again. "This is shar, fire in the armoury! We need medical assistance!"

The black furred daur grabbed a fire extinguisher from one of the walls and moved the doorway. She slid her helmet on and activated its rebreather.

Ross's head snapped up as soon as the alarms began blaring. He had been doing some light reading to pass the time before the current situation cropped up. "T'was just getting interesting, as well." He lamented as he placed the reading device on his bunk, rushing out of his quarters and sprinting to the armoury. Upon approaching the entrance to said armoury, the noble's eyes narrowed as he noted Shar blasting a fire extinguisher into the room. "I'll go find another fire suppression device!" He shouted at her before running back along his path of transit, recalling a nearby fire extinguisher's position. He returned a few moments later, sticking behind the more experienced soldier in front of him while blasting at the flames that she was unable to attend to. "Aren't these places supposed to be fire resistant!?" He shouted.

Dar'tagnan had been asleep curled around his époux. He woke with a start as the alarms sound. Elza'beth awoke from being curled up into her mate. She rolled out of the bed as Dar rolled the opposite direction. She crossed the room and pulled out her and Dar's body suit. She spread the My'leke's suit on the floor and started helping him. Having her to assist helped him to get into the protective gear in half the time. When she heard the call for Infantry she quick hug. "Be quick and be safe beloved."

Dar'tagnan surged into the hallway and moved as swiftly as he could safely. As he would approach personnel in the hall he would yell, "Make a hole." and dart between them. Along the way he grabbed a few Ha'los extinguishers with his tail and came into the armory. The acrid smell of smoke and other chemicals stung his nose. He activated his helmet and took a breath of clean air. He moved forward towards the fire. Stopped and placed the three extinguishers he had acquired. He picked up one and pulled the pin and started dispersing the agent. "Any idea what happened her "Ma'am" he called out.

Elza'beth secured the room, and adjusted her light goggles. Elza moved as quickly as she could safely given her visual impairment. She only slowed and moved to the side of the corridors to allow crew members that were running to pass. As she did the she activate the foam fitting system in her suit and entered the bridge.

There were just a few small fires here and there from some of the secondary explosions cause probably by charged energy crystals. Room itself was pretty much inflammable. That was indeed good, but people who were inside were flammable and Shar had to help.

"I have no idea!" Shar replied to Dar'tagnan. "I was on my way here, when it blew up. We will have to worry about that later."

"C'ross check the wounded and dead! Dar, shout some more on comms. We need folks from medical here yesterday." The woman said as she blasted another small fire with a halon stream for her extinguisher.

Engineering

The mission had been tiring to the Labie. He took to his cabin the moment he got off time and then just laid down to sleep off the fatuige. He would be awoken though about six hours after by Alrms going off and the Ship experincing troubles. He lept off his bed and then began to dress as quick as he could. He made sure he had everything and then made a B-line for the Engineering. Coming into the room as sparks were flying and things seemed to be Hecktic. Repoting to his supirior. ""Limr'vaid Kil'nda reporting for duty! Where do you need me?" he asked willing to work anywhere to try and get the ship stable and not about to fall apart

Dar replied to Shar's instructions with a simple nod as he blasted another fire with the extinguisher. He access his suit communicator. "Infirmary, this is C'Baruce Sa'gesse. We need medical personnel to the Infirmary. Trauma kits recommended; advise it appears we have multiple casualties."

With the task of calling for medics done; he paused to see where he was needed next. The worst damage appeared to be in the armory. Which despite the contents violent nature. The armory was supposed to be the safest place for them. An anti-static area with everything secured so what went wrong. He'd heard about reports of saboteurs before he was assigned. But that made no sense. An explosion in the armory put everyone at risk.

Engineering

Quin' yelped as a shower of sparks rained over here from a damaged conduit. She had no time to look at Kil'nda when he came in and instead grabbed a rail and shoved herself toward a nearby console. "We have fires in the main conduit leading to the FTL Drive Core! The core is unresponsive to commands, get in there and dose those fires!" she shoutted over the dozens of alarms blaring in the room.

The ship shuddered and a loud humm spread through it.

Bridge

Compared to the rest of the ship, the bridge seemed to be a lot less chaotic; Elza'beth would notice that currently only the second shift was on station - which meant that one person was at the helm, another at weapons, and the last one was at communications - all three of which were trying rather hard to maintain control of the ship. A few seconds later Sa'kira came in behind Elza' an ran toward the centre of the bridge, taking a seat in her chair and bringing up a display - a display that turned out to be damaged. "Elza'beth, find out where the XO is please and have him report to the bridge at once," she ordered and then turned her attention to the rest of the bridge crew. "I want a damage report and to know what hte hell just happened!" she shouted.

Armory

The fire suppression system didn't kick in, but luckily the fire wasn't that intense and a few extinguishers here and there reduced to a far more managable level. Smoke began to clear somewhat due to the ships vent's pulling it out, as it did so the full scope of what had occured became clear to those present; there was a dead Daur near the epicentre of the explosion, part of their leg was missing and spranel imbedded in their chest and face. There were others in the room, two Daur's nearest the door who were passed out with a My'leke laying prone beside them. Although the most profound sight was a screaming Laibe who was on fire, crawling in a panic toward the door.

Bridge

Def'leor walked in a minute after Sa'kira. She had a cloth in her right hand pressed to her the right side of her head that was stained with blood. She had her Armored Body Suit on except for her helmet. The helmet was tucked under her left arm.

"I'm right here ma'am." She called out and winced. She crossed over to her station. She activated the IDT and pulled up multiple displays. On one she had a ship display that showed the status of primary system. The second display was showing the status of the various major compartments. Lastly she pulled up the sensor logs for the last 30 minutes and ran an analysis.

She settled into the chair and strapped her self in. "All compartment show nominal pressure. We have no hull breaches. Armory temp is elevated, but that's to be expected. I'm showing an elevated temp in Engineering. I'm showing that the core is active but the controls are offline." she said without turning to Sa'kira.

Armoury

"Understood!" Ross replied as he picked his way through the damaged armoury. The three casualties who seemed to be downed from asphyxiation was beyond his expertise, though Dar seemed to be on top of the task of calling for said expertise. The fourth casualty was beyond anyone's help, however. "May you bathe in Chelerious's light, brother." The Swordmaster prayed before his attention was focused on the burning Laibe. He quickly swung his fire extinguisher around and sprayed the burning casualty. The man needed help, safety label on the fire extinguisher be damned! "Need a fire blanket over here!" He shouted. Such a thing would be preferable to shooting white foam at someone, but an immediate solution was required.

Engineering

Kil'nda had no idea what could have cuased the ship to be put into this State but he quickly grabbed and extiquisher headig to put out the fires. He began to dose the flames as he found them hoping that these flames wouldn't reach and damnage the core it's self. He Tried to keep on the move whenever he was clear with one fire and move to hte neck trying to keep site of things though thee smoke and the Cemicals they were spraying as well

Bridge

A warning flashed across Def'leors console, informing her that the ship was moving at a speed far greater than their FTL drive core was rated for. Along with this warning also came one of an increase in hull stresses toward the rear of the ship and along its lateral hull. Additional warnings popped up, including a marked increase in the tempreture in the engineering bay that was beginning to reach dangerous levels.

"Try to regain control of the ship," Sa'kira ordered as the ship shuddered briefly, this was accompanied by the groan of metal. She turned her attention to Elza'beth. "Do you have any medical training? If so, please assist the medical teams."

Engineering

The heat inside of the conduit was high, Kil'nda would feel the sweat running down his face and would also smell some of his fur beginning to singe a little, but his efforts were bearing fruit - as much of the fire was being put out there were only a few spots still remaining.

Armory

The laibe howled in pain, not just from the burns on his body but also from the foam that now covered them - it was a cooling sensation that only made the pain worse.

The Libe groaned. his fur only making things worse for him. Still he fought on. He looked for any sighs of a fire trying to use commnictions to corrdinate where the fires might be. H pant and moved on again and again putting out fires. He coughed form the cloud of spray around him but he hadn't the time to stop and wait for a clearng. He was determined to put out all these fires and hopfully bring some stability to their ship

Bridge

Elza'beth turned to Sa'kira. "My Ini'she training does not involve much medical trauma training. Regardless I am sure that an extra pair of hands will be of benefit." She stood up and left the bridge. Making her way to the aft of the Gam'trosha.

Def'leor tried several ways to route control to the hyperdrive, but none of them were successful. She looked at the displays showing various warnings. 'Well, if I can't directly control the FTL, then I'll just have to pull the plug on the drive.' she thought. Her fingers fleet across the IDT and accessed the engineering subsystems using her authority as Lexicon. "Ma'am, I am going to initiate an emergency shut down of the primary reactor. It is risky, but given our situation, I can't see any alternative. The stresses will tear the ship apart if I don't."

She activated her intercom system. "ATTENTION ALL HANDS. Our FTL is in cascading runaway. The ship is in imminent danger of structural failure. We are initiating an emergency shutdown of the primary reactor. That will cause the FTL to shut down. All personnel should secure themselves or brace for uncontrolled return to normal space. Shut down will commence in 15 seconds at my mark. Mark." Def'leor sent the commands to scram the reactor. "Five seconds.... four... three... two... one... Scramming." she called out as the lights switched to backup as the main power system shut down.

Armory

Dar'tagnan reached into the armory and grabbed the injured Laibe. He figured it was best to get the injured crewman out of a room filled with things that might choose to detonate. Especially with the ship surging and shuddering. Anything not secured in the damaged armory was likely to start shifting. When he heard the announcement from the bridge, he looked around for something to secure himself with. He brought the injured crew member and latched onto a structural strut.

Hallway

Elza'beth was moving through the passage at a run. When she heard Def'leor's announcement she looked around, and said "merde". She came to a stop and moved to the side of the corridor. She grabbed onto the hand rail as tightly as she could. She listened to the count down and said a quick prayer to whatever force watched over ship crews.

Bridge

Sa'kira merely nodded and engaged the restraints on her chair, simultanously the restraints in other chairs likewise engaged. She listened as Def'leor gave the countdown, taking in a few deep breaths - she'd never been on a ship that was forced out of FTL, so this was going to be an experience. The lights dimmed as the backups had engaged, klaxons that were blarring went silent and at first things were eerily quiet.

Then suddenly there was a thunderous roar as the ship was thrown from FTL, those in restraints were were pervented from hitting anything around them while those not would themselves tossed to the deck. The ship floated aimlessly in space, main engines offline, shielding as well, sensors were poor and the ships navigational computer was offline; but for all intents and purposes, they weren't in any danger of their hull being torn ashunder. "Give me a full report on the damage, have all uninjured crew help with repairs.. .and find out where we are please..." Sa'kira rubbed the back of her head, her head had whiplashed during the exit and now her neck was hurting a bit.

Kil'nda had finishes with the fires. That is the ones that he could find. He was trying to coordnate with other's outside where any reading of more might be.

That's when the message sounded.

"Oh no, no, no no no." He began to move in a hurry trying to make his way out and secure himself as best he could. making it out just in time for him to be able to hit the deck before the ship would make him do it as he felt himself almost tossed at the stop. Heart pounding as he slowly began to get himself up. . It had seemed they survived this. "Everyone okay?" he asked as he managed to make it to his feet on slikly wobbly legs. He gave a his as he held his arm. He had a small cut on his shoulder. Nothing lightthreatening or debilitating but now that his adrenaline wasn't pumping he could say it did stink a bit

Armory

Upon sighting the Laibe's flaming form had been doused, Ross immediately shut off the fire extinguisher in his hands, allowing it to sink to the floor. He turned, seeming to be searching for his energy bow, before a particular announcement was made. "S'risa." His only comment being a curse, he turned to leave the armory before the sudden shift of the shift relieved his legs of the duty, their owner growling as he hit the deck, elbows and knees protesting such treatment as they slid along into the hall. The Swordmaster remained silent as he stood, though he awkwardly cleared his throat in response to his less than dignified exit. "Right then. Business." The noble reached for his communicator. "All elements, be advised. The situation in the aft armory has been mostly dealt with. We require medical assistance. Five casualties, one dead, one severely wounded, over."

Armoury

"Grab onto something, keep the injured steady." Shouted Shar, as she was dragging the injured My'leke out of the armoury in case there would be more explosions. She was as careful as possible, but the My'Leke was heavy and hard to get out. There was not much else to do now. Shar hugged the My'leke with one arm and hold onto the closest railing. Hopefully the inertial dampeners would hold on, otherwise the whole crew might end up as a paste on the walls.

Corridor

Keri'cruen was still in a corridor, headed for the Gam'trosha's engineering bay as the announcement that the reactor was about to be scrammed was sent throughout the ship over the intercom. The platinum-haired kit grit his teeth and grabbed onto a nearby hand-hold to steady himself for the expected turbulence.

Blast it. A cascade event? What would have caused that? The young engineer thought worriedly just before his surroundings suddenly lurched and the kit found himself off-balance and hurtling toward the decking despite his attempt at using the hand-hold to keep himself steady. Keri hit the ground hard, letting out a pained yelp at the moment of impact. It took several agonizingly long seconds for the boy to recover enough from his disorientation and the throbbing pain in his limbs to recover enough presence of mind to try standing. Given the ache shooting up from his forearms and knee's, Keri had no doubt he'd be sporting more than a few bruises -- assuming they survived whatever had caused the FTL drive to fail.

With a grunt of pain and a slight wincing of his features, Keri started to continued his progress toward the engineering bay. He was limping at first and using the wall as support -- though before he reached his destination the kit became sufficiently accustomed to the pain that he could more-or-less walk without having to leaning against one of the ships bulkheads. It wasn't a pleasant experience by any means, though.

Engineering Bay

"Xeui?" Keri called out as he entered the engineering bay and encountered the sensation of Zero-G that accompanied being inside that ship compartment. His blue-green eyes searched the large chamber until they found and locked his gaze onto Xeui'na.

"What's going on, Xeui?" The kit launched himself to float vaguely in Xeui'na's direction, his eyes shifting their focus briefly to scan across the flashing displays and warning messages scrolling across the nearest workstation console.

Engineering

Quin' looked over at Keri, she was unbuckling herself from one of the few crash seats in the bay. "FTL drives went haywire," she said and floated over to the terminal she'd been at before the announcement that the reactor would be going offline, in fact, with the reactor off the Engineer bay was strangely quiet - the only noise that could be heard was from the backups and the capacitors which were slowly discharging. "I was about-" her speech interrupted when she heard Kil'ndra. "We're fine in here!" she shouted back before leaning back a bit. "Reactor is offline, external communications are down and..." the chief engineer brought up a list of damaged systems and scowled. "Looks like the navigational computer is offline, without it the bridge won't be able to determine our postion... we need to get that back online but..." she attempted to send a startup command to the computer but all she got return was an 'error' message that stated that the main computer was overheated. "Can you manually reset the main computer along with navigation please?" she grabbed a handrail above her and pulled herself up. "I think right now those are the most important, unless you have any suggestions," she smiled at him.

In the conduit that Kil'ndra was in, most of the smoke had been pumped out by the air-circulation system, which meant the crewmen would now be able to see the transparent blastdoor that lead to the FTL Drive-core, much of the door was now blackened though. There was a sizzling sound, small pieces of the window were melted - but the more worrisome thing might be that even the metal was starting to warp a bit - a tempreture gauge just beyond the blastshield reported that the tempreture inside of the core room was in excess of 2,000 degree's farenheit(1,093 Celsius).

Armory

As the shaking and rumbling stopped, there was momentary silence - the only thing that could be heard would be the breathing those there and the gentle flow of air being pushed into the bay.
