Character skills

Ok, I'm trying to build a character. And it's harder than I thought.

Mainly because I fleshed out my character idea on the old chargen and are therefore confused by the new one, but I'll get over that, eventually. What I really need to know is simple, thought:

- Are there still basic racial skills? There's no link for Elysians so I couldn't tell.
- How do I count skills? I mean, if I take communication, does it count for all the fields I decide to make it count or do I have to acquire it separately for every type? For example, if I take Fighting and Physical, do I have to take three different skills if I want to be proficient in Power armor, Martial arts and Standard weapons or is it just one, big skill?
- Magic. I probably should've searched on the boards now that I think of it but... I didn't find anything at all in the site, did I just miss it? I'm quite intrigued to know what type of magic is and, especially, how it works.

Thanks in advance

Magic works through a femto-tech microbot system called PANTHEON. It allows a practionioner to do magic like actions. The femtobots drench the air in the ship of SA and in places like Hoshi no Iori. I don't believe their are racial skills anymore, although I do remember that most Archangels had telepathy or something (Needs help, before time). I'd say that power armour and melee fighting where two different skills, it's probable that hand to hand fighting and the basic use of close combat weapons are under the same skill section.

Once you have selected your seven skill areas, the individual skills in them can be as many or as few as you like. I only ask that you keep them reasonable, and if you make someone shine in one skill area, consider having the character be not so hot on another.
