Clips vs. Magazines

Stop confusing these objects, people.

Blame popular media. Every game I've ever played has called it a pistol clip. Every book I've ever read that has guns has used the phrase "pistol clip" at least once. Every movie...well, you get the idea. :p

AHHHHAHAHHAHAH I'M IN UR CIVILIAN POPULATION, CONFUSING UR TERMINOLOGY

Good Post, plenty of things I'm sure even some of the more experienced RPers haven't actually grasped yet.

I guess not everybody is fortunate enough to have personal experience with firearms, and or fortunate enough NOT to have personal experience. Suppose it all depends on what end of the weapon you get to look at. Me? Well lets just say It's possible to get M1-Thumb while flipping pancakes. Provided you are shooting the pancakes as well

I used to always love it when people would say "I need a clip!"

My first response was "Are you loading a magazine?"

However, I feel an interesting question is what would the vernacular for other types of non-kinetic ammo sources be? I assume batteries, but are there other options? Everything else seems to be electricity so I would say no.

You can use a Clip to load a Magazine both internally and externally.

In the Star Army of Yamatai, the official language used for things like the Nekovalkyrja Service Pistol's power source is a "battery magazine."
