OOC D & D OOC

Gabriel

🎖️ Game Master
Alright, I want to see who would be interested in doing a game of Dungeons and Dragons through the cluster flux. If we have enough interest I plan on asking an admin to create a sub-forum for it so that we can have an ooc section, a character sheet section, a plot section, etc. I would be playing GM and we don't have to use a campaign, but if people want a campaign I would be playing of the Eberron Campaign.

So who's in?

Re: D & D

I'm interested, but I don't know if I'll have the time. I might be getting a job soon, I'm in three plots (or soon to be in a third one), four if you count the Rogue Trader one I'm in with Aendri, Cy83r and Abwehran Commander (though I've been involved in it since early June and nothing's happened yet), I'm playing Star Craft 2 and have boyfriend/friend stuff to attend to every now and then.

I don't mind the campaign, but I'd rather have something original.

Oh, and also, dibs on Fighter.

Re: D & D

Cool, and Aendri my general plan was not even to use a campaign and just make it all up, since that's what I normally do.

So we have a fighter, and Aendri you need to call dibs, my policy id first come first serve :p

Re: D & D

Deep Imaskari* mage. 'Nuff said.

I believe that that's how it's spelled. But anyways, I'm totally up for this.

EDIT: I've also got the entire 3.5 rulebook on my hard drive if we're going that route.

Re: D & D

As do I. I also have a number of the expansion books if others need them. Complete Divine, that kinda stuff. As well as the, ah, less youngster friendly book. To that end, it should be mentioned 3.5 is still much better then 4, so...

Re: D & D

On that note, I am definitely using 3.5. A, because I know it better, and B, because I have every 3.5 book ever written on my comp XD

So we have:
Aendri - Rogue
Sentient - Fighter
Nevaraon - Sorcerer
Moogle - Mage

I think we're missing something of the healing type

EDIT: And I only plan on letting in four, maybe five people into the game. After that it's just too big.

Re: D & D

Moggle, what do you mean by mage? I figure it might be an expansion class, but just for clarification?

Re: D & D

A Wizard training for the Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil. In other words, An Abjuration specialist expansion class. More simply, a defensive specialist.

Would you happen to have the book for the expansion class, and if so would you like to share?

Although, my choice may vary depending on the setting we have. As long as Fencing rules aren't in. . .*

*In a highly customized setting, there were complicated Fencing rules because swords are apparently better than any other blade, according to the DM.

Re: D & D

Screw those rules. Even though I use swords most of the time, that's just silly. And if you can tell me the book, I can tell you if I have it. I don't recognize it off the top of my head.

Re: D & D

I don't like added rules, I follow the 3.5 rules very well (except for the fact that I remove certain rules for simplicity's sake). And if you give the name of the book then I will definitely have it, I was serious when I said I had EVERY 3.5 book on my pc, a total of 566 documents :D

Re: D & D

I believe it was a wizards expansion book. I can't remember the title, and I could have SWORN that I did have it, but I don't. It was mainly based around extra wizard classes.

Re: D & D

Found it: The Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil (pg. 44 Complete Arcane)

"Colors are imbued with their own magical properties. Just as exotic substances and mystic words have the power to repel certain creatures, colors also harbor innate properties that can be brought forth by the skilled mage, culminating in the perfection of the prismatic wall or prismatic sphere...
A master of defensive magic, the Initiate of the Sevenfold Veil approaches its prismatic barrier by mastering by mastering one of its constituent veils or layers. Her skillful wardings can prevent many of the most perilous attacks enemy spellcasters or monsters can muster, shielding herself and her companions against harm."

It's essentially a defensive color mage, if I'm not mistaken. The ISV creates a "warding" and and can imbue a color into depending on its level. It starts with red and as its levels progress it learns orange, then yellow, then green, blue, indigo, and violet. Each type has a certain type of defense ( red=ranged attacks, orange=ranged magic, yellow=gases/poison, etc.) and some colors gives buffs to players inside the veil.

If you've ever read the Seventh Tower series, it's something along that line.

Re: D & D

Probably complete arcane. I don't have that one, because I hate the spellcasting rules. Not sure though, mighta been a smaller one then that.

edit: Ninja'd but damn am I good. Never even looked at that book.

Re: D & D

Thank you very much. I have not read the seventh tower series. However, I did know what it was, as I played one in my last campaign. Ended up being a utility mage, though. Could you send me a copy of the Complete Arcane?

Re: D & D

If you guys are going to bandy around that you have illegal pdf copies of D&D sourcebooks and are going to trade them around, you're doing us a disservice about not doing it more discreetly.

Such open posts/threads promoting the acquisition of 'pirated copies' and furthering their distribution can only make SARP look bad, and cause trouble to Wes by extension.
