Dimensional 'Submarines'

Well, aircraft carriers have remained the undisputed kings of the sea for decades. I highly doubt this would detract from their value. Frankly, this doesn't seem to be breaking new ground to me - stealth ships already exist. To be honest, I would totally make a new character to use in a sub plot simply because of the unique 'silent running' aspect.

Unless there is any major objection from Wes, I'd like to formally announce that the Sousei-Class Subspace Torpedo Boat is now if OOC development.

Mmmm, make the article. Do your research, plan your technical specs, then come back with a proper tech submission. I'll double-team it with Cadet and we'll see then. @HAMnJAM

I'm not about to deny you this just because Wes doesn't want it.
So, make it convincing, if you will. He *does* have the final word in the end.

Ok, I'm not the best at ship layout but I can churn out tech like no tomorrow. If you need someone to handle the phase modulator and such, I'll totally do it.

Ultimately, I still think the concept of space submarines already exist in full and it's a matter of adjusting your perspective to realize that. Nozomi, Midori, and Yui 7 scouts fit the theme of what's being talked about here to the letter. Don't make the mistake of thinking the setting lacks undetectable ships that often go without communications to command for months and can make a quick strike before slinking away without notice. If having something labelled a "space submarine" instead of a "scout" is all it takes to get people excited, though, I guess it's not really harmful to make a new ship type.

Submission rules do say that the FM should be on board before work is started. You know, as to not waste a ton of the writer's time and cause more frustration in the end. Waiting for a quick "yes" or "no" from Wes, whether here or in private to Ham, isn't unreasonable.

As far as I'm concerned, @raz, @HAMnJAM is going to be mulling this over OOCly. I did say do the research, plan the technical specs, and come back with a proper tech submission. That's going to take time and during that time I'm sure Wes will be able to give a 'Yay' or 'Nay'.

I am being perfectly reasonable.

Of course there are already somewhat similar vehicles. This one, however, would be on a larger scale and be more suited to fleet combat (in a way). Note that all three of those ships have a common element - (relatively) small crew. A good analogy here would be attack submarines as opposed to ballistic missile submarines (NOT nuclear submarines).

This vessel is not designed to disqualify or replace those vessels. It is still entirely possible that this idea gets canceled on the grounds of use. The major point of the idea is the possibility of launching anti-starship torpedoes from hiding while also performing stealth recon. Tying it to the submarine option is basically added flavor to a genre of RP I seldom see, which is why I particularly chose it.

Not calling any names, throwing around anger or anything, just clearing things up. Please ask questions that anyone feels need answers.

Aight bois. Sahb tekz incoming!

1. Transdimensional Radiation Array
Based on 'bleed radiation' emitted from all energy discharge. Bleeds through to the void, but dissipates through the void instead of bleeding back.
2. Spess sonar
We'll, it's space sonar. Comes in two versions: active and passive. Active works by pinging for vessels. Gives away your location to passive. Passive can be run constantly without giving away your location and detects any vessels using active. Neither works while submerged.

1. Void Matter Propulsion
Basically like a water jet, but uses exotic matter found in the void. Uses huge amounts of power, but requires no fuel.
2. Energy Field Manipulation
Basically massive electromagnets that adjust power and polarity to use the strange energy fields of the void.

Feel free to critique. These designs are flexible!

I'm going to keep this in mind, for what it's worth I might incorporate this.

Problem with this, is that there is nothing in the void/subspace that I know of that an engine could harness minus regular CFS and such. I may be wrong, but I have not reached this point in development yet as I have been trying to find any info on Subspace itself.
