I'm not in much position to comment on big OOC things like this, but I do agree that @FrostJaeger could certainly help with the upkeep of the Elysian articles and culture. I had trouble making my character due to some of the outdated and occasionally conflicting information, as well as he potential for changes due to relations with Yamatai and so on (to no ones fault, of course). Having someone actively maintaining and updating that information could certainly help in the future.

You've shown the ability to work proactively to improve existing factions, and you certainly have a vested interest in this - which to me is a sign that you're likely to stick through thick and thin.

So you've got my vote.

I do recommend that you try to build your ideas on where the Elysians might be headed with Wes rather than independently from Wes (as in, decide something and then struggle to have Wes swallow it). I've seen standoffs and drama happen over that - I suggest you spare yourself the trouble.

I think I could also do a good job of bringing the Elysians up to date in a way that's consistent with the original wiki pages, but that's all I'd have to go on since I haven't played in an Elysian plot. I might be able to help as far as the faction's interactions with Nepleslia go, anyway, since I don't have a conflict of interest there, and I already had some ideas for what sort of direction the Elysians could take toward them to try to regain some influence in the sector. I don't want to see the Elysians get flattened out into just another race of superhumans among many, other than that I don't have much opinion.

^ This. I mentioned it in the chat when we originally discussed the idea with Wes, and I can't say enough that I don't foresee this leading to any sort of independent Elysia. It's why I even said that the best way to go with the Elysians would be to see where their identity stands before moving forward.

I think this is something necessary, not because of potentially splitting them away (which I don't think anyone can realistically expect) but because this is one of the oldest species that really deserves polish. Just because they're under Yamatai doesn't mean that should change. It's no different from the projects being attempted by other members (such as an attempt to refresh and revamp the Elf species into a setting appropriate one).

Could there be better choices? Maybe. But no one has stepped forward or expressed the interest you have. Got my vote of confidence, but it was pretty obvious when I said all this in the original discussion.

I voted "No." because you obviously just needed to ask Wes. Faction managers must be decisive!

You'll do well. Congratulations!

I don't want you on my plot if that means you can't run one of your own!! >:O

I believe in you to do what is best for the faction. You have shown a great dedication to Nepleslia and I like that you're not shoving that aside for another project.

I just woke up and have only a little coffee in me so I can't say much more, but I think I got my point across.

It looks like most people think that this is a good idea, and I agree.

So I hereby proclaim @FrostJaeger as FM of Elysia and I'll be happy to work with him as needed.

Yamatai has done a pretty good job of not trying to homogenize the Empire, especially with the Elysians. Although Yamatai has a lot of subcultures in it, particular deference and respect has been given to the Elysians, who are treated as a nation within a nation rather than just a standard part of YSE. For example the Star Army's main facility on Keren, the Elysian Naval Depot, was built in the Elysian style rather than a standard Star Army one. The only major thing the Elysians lost after joining Yamatai was their military, since it was absorbed into the Star Army after a couple years. Also at the international relations conference Yamatai usually brings Elysian representatives in addition to the main Yamataian ones, which shows how they take Elysia's wants seriously.

Kind of wondering why I didn't get the alert from the tags, but yeah, sounds like a plan. The Elysians' pages need a lot of work, probably why the new characters aren't 'up to the old standards', so having someone in charge that's good with wiki work sounds good to me. Syaoran knows a lot more about them then I do, but if you want to bounce ideas off someone, you got my skype. :)

Greetings fellow SARPians,

After conducting a poll on Discord regarding who the next Elysian Co-Faction Managers should be, it pleases me immensely to designate @Pancakei and @META_mahn as my assistants and, should anything happen to my person, my successors for the Elysian Celestial Empire.

Their passion and dedication to making Elysia great again - exemplified by @META_mahn having taken up the mantle of expanding the Artume system article and by @Pancakei having laid the foundations for the Intelligence Commission of Elysia - plus the support their peers have shown are all the proof I need to know that they will contribute greatly to the faction's development for years to come.

Long Live the Empire!

Huzzah!

I look forward to continue working with Frost and helping him bring Elysia into a more solid shape both IC and OOC once again. I hope to help clarify wiki articles both new and old, expand upon the Intelligence Commission of Elysia, and help out where I can with visual design as well.

Thank you for the opportunity to help expand Elysia, I will take it with responsibility.

Earn your birbs, Legix. :p

As for me, I don't plan on making a very big public presence. But if Frost points me in a direction to get something done, I will get X thing done. And as he mentioned with Artume system, that's already started.

Still though, it never hurts to throw me an idea. I love talking about potential ideas, and I am almost always open for discussion. I'm always in the mood for a new mecha idea, or a new gun. Elysia needs more guns.

The Tethys is a beautiful PA by the way. It's the best one Elysia has.

What Elysia needs is better ship articles. That should be a high priority, art or no art, to ensure that Elysia no longer has more or less "Borg" ships (they're all the same, just different sizes mostly).
