Fate of Fenyar

Was their any particular reason that the Fenyar sun went super nova suddenly? I think that I read something about a missile making the sun explode or something, but I'd like to find out the specifics. It's just that NovaCorp now mainly resides in the graveyard of that system, and their have been some rumours spread about it being haunted and dangerous, and I'd like to know what to expect.

Also the Fenyarians (or something like that), used to have some form of invulnerable metal called Teraneum or something. What happened to this? Are the blueprints of how to make it still out their somewhere? Is it possible that some survived the SuperNova? I realsie I'm probably asking questions that no-one should answer, it's just I'd like to know.

I'm going to leave these questions for James to answer. Although he's handed over the fate of Fenyar to me (Nozomi is headed there, btw! Well, the new Fenyar) he's the creator of Terranium and Fenyar, and would be best able to answer you.

Alright, I will try to answer all of your questions, one at a time, as best as I can.

1. Was their any particular reason that the Fenyar sun went super nova suddenly? I think that I read something about a missile making the sun explode or something, but I'd like to find out the specifics.

Answer: Yes, you are right on. The Fenyaro, mostly Dy'Unnar, stole a space probe from a human lab, loaded a nuclear device onto it, and fired it at the sun in hopes of cutting off the sun and lowering the temperature to kill off the humans, while they relied on their coats of fur to survive the ensuing winter. The warhead went off poorly, and set in motion the process by which the sun went supernova. Before the sun could explode however, a balance was reached, and things teetered on the edge. Then, due to the stress caused by the Star Army presence so near, the explosion occured.

2. It's just that NovaCorp now mainly resides in the graveyard of that system, and their have been some rumours spread about it being haunted and dangerous, and I'd like to know what to expect.

Answer: I don't know where the rumors started, off the top of my head, but I think they were there to discourage people from "snooping" around too much in the graveyard of my planet while I wasn't here to oversee it. One thing is, it can't be haunted, because ghosts really aren't all that scientific, so if anything, there would be only small, short, spirit manifestations of the most well known figure of Fenyar, ie, Sergei Dimitriov, last king and ruler of the planet. It would be dangerous, only in the sense that there could still be black holes and solar radiation, but with the technological advances in sheilding and armor plating, I don't see these as much of a risk anymore.

3. Also the Fenyarians (or something like that), used to have some form of invulnerable metal called Teraneum or something. What happened to this?

Answer: Yes, the Fenyar races did have access to Terrainium, but it was far from invulnerable. While it was/is very resistant to energy and projectile weaponry, it is a very good conductor of electricity, and therefore that would be a weakness. It also didn't protect against antimatter. As for what happened to it, the supernova destroyed most of it on the planet, and then the small traces of what was left were sucked into a black hole. There are rumors (ICly) that there might still be some Terrainium in a Kee'Awloo vault on an uncharted planet.

4. Are the blueprints of how to make it still out their somewhere?

Answer: Yes, there are two copies of the blueprints for recreating Terrainium. One of them is in the possession of a "mad" scientist named Shadow Ex, and would be fairly easy to get ahold of if you could get in contact with him, and made him an appealing offer. The other copy of the blueprints, and one that would be much harder to get ahold of, is in the Kee'Awloo vaults on a planet that has yet to be found and explored by the Star Army. Both ways are feasable with time, effort, and a little funding.

5. Is it possible that some survived the SuperNova?

Answer: It is possible that a small amount of Terrainium could have survived the supernova, but due to the black hole, and the rumors of the space being haunted, it would be too late to find them before they would be sucked into the void.

Thanks for answering my questions

I would just like to ask two more:

1. How would a nuclear missile cause a sun to go super nova? The only way I can think off is to burn up a massive amount of the hydrogen that the sun relies on for fuel, but firstly this would require a nuclear bomb of such massive power (and size) that it doesn't bare thinking about, and second would result in a slow red giant phase lasting for thousands (if not milions of years). Can you (or anyone else with suficient technobabble) clarify this?

2. Your mentioning of a Black Hole. Does this mean that the star in the centre of the Fenyar system has actualy become a black hole? Or just that it was some side effect of the Fenyarans wormwole technology. If the sun has become a black hole, it must have been huge, and I'm surprised any planet capable of sustaining life orbited it.

1. I don't know, I had a friend of mine who is more scientifically savvy write that particular post...You'll have to ask someone else, and they will most likely tell you the truth, I just pulled it out of nowhere to get rid of the planet after I got banned for a "Moment of severely lacking judgement" on a comment to Wes.

2. The black hole is a side effect of the Fenyar races' worm hole technology. I would agree that the star would have had to be huge to cause a black hole. To be honest, I am not the most astronomically intelligent person, and mostly deal in biological things like ecosystems, plants, and animals.

I don't know about black holes. There would certainly be spatial distortions and intense radiation in the debris field. And all the junk floating around in the system would certainly make it an ideal for space pirates to operate.

If any black holes exist, they would be small ones with the event horizons very close to the actual holes. I don't know if those are possible.

By the way, there's a certain Yamataian fleet admiral with a Terrainium-coated cybernetic right arm. And thus the military already has some preliminary data on the material. No attempt has been made to back-engineer Terrainium since there was no perceived military applications for it.

I must confess that I'm the one who started the rumor of the Fenyar system being haunted. It was mentioned in a non-serious way in an OOC conversation. I guess that's how these rumors get started usually. ^_^;;

Micro black holes are theoreticly possible, and according to the work of Stephen Hawking, many where created immediatly after the big bang. They have been hypothesised as an unlimited power source but their also very dangerous because of what would happen if one was allowed to get into a planets atmosphere. To put it basicly, the micro black hole would plunge through the Earth, straight through the core, gathering matter as it went, shoot out the other side, then get pulled back in again, in a system that would lead to the world utter destruction and absorption by (now much bigger) micro black hole. They would also be terrible things for a ship to run into, as they would easily rip apart anymaterial they touched.

Quick question.

I was looking over the site, and some of the posts, and I wanted to ask the NovaCorp guys to send me the transcript of the agreement between myself and you all to give you sole rights to the Fenyar Cloud.

Thanks in advance...

J. R.

OK, Uh I'll have to talk to Rob about that, he knows more about what happaned before I joined. So anything in particular you want to see in the transcript? If I can resuerect Rob (dying of an illness that is like flu in every way), We'll try and get that to you as soon as possible

No, I don't need anything in particular, I'm just archiving all the things about my planet, and since this pertains to it, I want to get it too. Plus, my memory isn't that great anymore, so I need to be reminded of things.

I was thinking about the Fenyar Cloud idly during a Classics lesson (bad me I know but it was a slow lesson) and was wondering whether their was anything left of sun. After the 'death' of a sun, either through the typical red giant stage or supernova their is usualy a black dwarf, or a neutron star. I was wondering if their was any remaining dead star, and if so which type it was. It might be intresting to think about it if no one has come up with the idea already, especially since some of the stars are made almost totally out of carbon and some can go through sudden collapse into a black hole (if a neutron star is decided upon I'll reveal a link to a relevant page).
