RP: 5th Fleet [Fifth Fleet] Pisces in Passing

"I weesh I were Fyuunen, not am Fyuunen," the Lorath sternly corrected, emphasizing the word. Despite the tone of her voice, she started to relax, judging by the way she leaned forward over the counter at the other end of the room and rested her chin upon an upturned palm. "Born Lmanel caste instead," Kat disinterestedly added, examining her nails. As though on cue, one of the small wings draping her shoulders dismissively waved the thought aside as though it were a disappointment.

Kat's eyes darted back to Anzu with a rather predatory gleam however. "Neko always cute when flustered I admeet. So small," she observed, looking Anzu over from head to toe with a much more penetrating gaze than what Joshua used. Her colorfully accented words threatened to wrap around the Neko and bind her. "Tell me - you most focused small people, or curious about beeger people too?" Kat'yusha asked with a sly grin.

Joshua looked back and forward between the two, and merely tugged at his collar before pulling out a datapad, quickly sending a message off to the Neko.
Code:
Yeah. You'll get everything in no-time.

Anzu confirmed her payment was accepted before making sure she had everything she'd entered the store with. She met Kat's gaze, the scowl returning as their heights were brought up. "Focused? I dunno...a target's a target. Big or small." Simo sniffed, readjusting her grip on the heavy duffel bag she was carrying.

She finally grinned at the workers. "You two sure make a cute couple. Nice meeting ya." She nodded, almost a quick bow to the two. "Hopefully I'll be back to shop some more soon enough, next time we're in the neighborhood." Anzu headed for the exit, glancing back at them, not quite sure what to think about the Lorath. "Guess I'll see ya again when you deliver!"

Soon enough she was on her way to the processing center, ready to report in. She still wasn't sure what squad she was going to wind up in, so hopefully that would all be cleared up shortly. Anzu might even have enough time to unload and unwind for a bit after checking in, maybe take a nap near the entrance, where Kat or Joshua could spot her easily.

Fieke was still looking in Sif's direction as April took the opportunity to break up the Abwehran and Sif's little misunderstanding before it went somewhere else. The nightwalker purposefully glared at the mini-Neko from behind her goggles – futilely wishing her ire could make light of such mundane problems as a simple obstruction.

Gah, I can even see through them from my side! Stupid tinted glass. Corporal Amsel grumbled to herself as she finally turned her head, he right leg twitching a little from frustration. If only I could punt her... oh how she would soar!

Letting out a single bark of amused laughter Fieke's smile returned to her face when faced with the thought of Sif getting a swift one to the rear and one ticket towards the ceiling – it really was an irresistible thought after all.

The OriSec officer's smile only broadened as April took Kai's return to the group as an opportunity to introduce herself. “Yeah, an Origin Representative needs to have an Origin Security detail or we'd just look bad, so here I am with the Fifth and all.” Fieke made a little spinning motion with her right hand to indicate that the 'and all' part of her response to April's first set of questions was referring to Pisces Station.

The nightwalker's goggles rose once more with her eyebrows and an impish grin took over her face as the other woman mentioned the new equipment. “Oh? You've seen some of the new gear they've been spitting out then? That's practically all that has been running the rumour mill in the Company for a good while now, but, of course, none of us have gotten anywhere close to playing with even a smidgeon of anything yet. Curmudgeons, right?” Fieke had stepped forward as she talked and was no longer lounging against the Cafe railing, her interest in the topic April had picked quite clear. “Have they just let you at any of the real packages then, or has it just been little peaks and tests with the little crap every time?"

Zozo was happy to hear both Aya and Damien share a bit of their story with Aya's being the most surprising. He knew that most Nekovalkyrjan were created artificially, but the girl before him wasn't even an entire year old, yet here she was going off to war. It depressed him quite a bit as he remembered that was what they were designed for. However, he hid the emotion well, not wanting to spoil the good mood.

When Aya asked the same question in turn to the Elysian, he lowered his head for a moment in thought. It would be best for him to keep it strictly simple and avoid any mention of the war between their races. "Well... I'm from a long line of house keepers. Most of my family serve the Acteons, a noble Patrician house. Our two families had been together for generations. So true so, that it is uncommon for an Acteon to not have A Zoroaster in his shadow." This particular Zoroaster spoke, a hint of pride in his voice.

Feeling his answer would be sufficient, Zozo tried to move the topic back towards Damien, hoping to hear more about the place he grew up. This 'Anisha' sounded like a wonderful place to visit. Sadly, the man from Anisha had his attention placed elsewhere.

"It seems our brief journey together is at an end," Zozo commented as Damien ran off to the nearest available processing center attendant.

As Damien and the rest of the group approached the pink-haired Neko, She bowed and finally stopped bouncing on her feet, looking relieved that she suddenly had something to do, but at the same time she had a sudden look of worry on her face as if she had actually forgotten what to do. Thankfully, that look was mostly hidden in her bow, but the much to slow raising of her head and awkward grin she bore as she straightened herself gave away a bit of nervousness.

The Neko, a Juni by her rank pins, acted like this wasn't her normal job. Of course, the Grey panels of a starship operator that existed on her uniform where the white panels of a clerk should have been also gave that away. Regardless, she went about her current job- whether she had just transferred or it was a temporary position undetermined- with that same grin.

"Well, Hello Zhang-Hei," She greeted, "I am Hayashi Shizuka-Juni, and I'll be helping you today!" Taking Damien's orders, she began comparing them to something on her datapad, before beginning to tap away at the device, searching up his name. She could have achieved the same effect telepathically, but in her nervousness she seemed to forget, perhaps making the process longer, but it was not long before she had type in the names of all three recruits as they arrived and handed her their orders.

Having finished that, she addressed the Trio. "You'll all be assigned to Temporary barracks 132-A for the following week, after which time you will be receiving your full orders and proper assignment. Just follow your itenerary for now," She explained, handing a piece of paper to each with a general daily schedule on it, "It's mostly free time, but there's also some daily exercises and simulation runs to prepare you for combat."

When they looked, the Itinerary would read as such:

Code:
* 6:00 AM Wake up and daily preparation
* 6:30 AM Morning exercises
* 7:30 AM Breakfast
* 8:00 AM Class (See schedule in barracks)
* 10:00 AM Free time begin
* 5:00 PM Simulation
* 6:30 PM Evening exercises
* 7:30 PM Dinner
* 8:00 PM Evening class (See schedule in barracks)
* 10:00 PM Curfew

Once they had read the Itinerary, Shizuka gathered the recruits' attention once more and then directed them to a door in the back of the recruiting and processing center. "Your barracks are located down that hallway, about 300 meters in. There's a map by the door showing you the nearest exits to the rest of the station, so you don't always have to come in and out of here. Enjoy your stay at Pisces!"

And with that, the Pink-haired Neko trotted off, going back to where she had been told to stay and wait for more recruits to help.

***************

April grinned, happy to find something that took the Nightwalker's mind away from her minuscule superior, if only for the moment. "Well, Mah last unit got ta' field test some of the early models durin' tha clean-up on Tami, so I've gotten used to the ASGR. It's a bit heftier than tha LASR, but that ain't no problem, seein as it's got a lot more punch. The LASR was good at Sprayin' but I never saw lot's a praying, and it certainly needed that aspect, too." The blonde mimicked holding a rifle in her hands and waving it wildly around in a rather whimsical fashion at this. "The ASGR ain't fer dainty folk, that's fer sure. And then the changes y'all made to the Daisy II are quite appreciated, after spendin' a couple years in tha Original. Mighty tough armor, but I had taken to wearin' a swimsuit in it. Was better than dealin' with the mess that comes from such an interior. I hear Nakamura Juni back here hated it so much he right up tore his interior out and replaced it with something more suiting, himself. 'course, Some of the work was done by members from his original unit, s'well. You done did a mighty fine job, though, I have ta say."

Before April could continue talking, though, the two would be interrupted by Fieke's communicator beeping loudly, a priority message from one of the other OriSec officers having arrived.

We need you back at the shuttle, something has arrived for you. Something rather large, and in a crate that's about big enough to fit a large person. Any idea what it might be? Also, your break was over ten minutes ago.

Damien was surprised to see that the others he had met had also been assigned to his barracks unit. Perhaps they would all be placed together. He could only hope because in the vastness of the Star Army it was nice to have a close group.

"Hey guys, looks like our journey together will be a bit longer. Might as well make the most of it right? Wana go get some lunch a little later before simulations?" Damien said in a friendly tone.

Once Zozo finished memorizing the Itinerary given to him, he raised his head towards the other man with a cheerful response. "Of course, Damien! It would be a blessing to share lunch with new friends. Ah.. if you would permit me the grace to call you as such."

It was good to know he had a chance to spend more time with them. After all, he still had a few questions racketing his mind. Questions like how a fully grown being born only a year ago saw the universe or how a colonist viewed his culture's home world. There was much to ask, more to learn, and much more towards understanding each other.
