I had watched Bacciano! and noticed that most mafia goons carried knives more than guns when roaming the streets. I assume it is because idiots with guns causes problems and attracts attention.

Now with SARP the Neps from what I have been told would orbital drop PA guys right on top of a trouble situation, or on people they think are causing too much trouble or something. I think then when dealing with small time conflicts would be dealt without guns as well, however I still assume that there are drive bys and the such though I still don't quite have a big grasp of the setting.

Such as, I'm not sure what the cheapest combat PA would be, not certain a mafia or gang would risk owning one because of the feds dropping on them, though I suppose also depends on the amount of connections a group has.

Bah, I need to go watch some Mafia shows lol.
 
The Cheapest PA is probably either the Demon, Super Demon, or Cyclone. Nep gangs have been known in the past to make heavy use of these PA (most notably the Reds) and have even had them see use in street fighting on occasion.

As for guns versus knives, All Nepleslians carry guns, and those who don't are seen as suspicious. probably.

Aside from the Demon series, there is one other Commercially available PA, that being Origin's Impulse, and older Yamataian and Nepleslian PAs can be found on the black market for various (usually high) prices.
 
In regards to black market PA systems, would there be any chance for a salvage ship to find a downed Yamatai Craft and snag a couple of them fancy mindy's to sell? I feel that would be a good question to ask.

I asked Doshii during the Diplomacy thing! Khelena specifically asked for the means to build the MCAS outfit Edtoto used on the heartbreaker and was told quite flatly no :p Instead she got Law Enforcement gear, which she is thankful for, but has her eye on a larger prize :p
