Re: Recess

Pyros tilted his head at Wazu's entry, lifted his cane to the delegate of the Gartagens.

"Oh don't mind Yuumi, that's just her." The Premier waved his hand aside, dismissing those flying notions, "Now, what do you need?"

Re: Recess

“Information,” Wazu replied, taking a sip of his drink as he remained leaning against the door arch.

“It has been quite a good day for me. I came here expecting to have to talk Nepleslia down from joining up with Yamatai and the other nations for an NMX beat down party. When I left there were plenty of people clamoring to expand the war effort against them and more than a few in the government were warming up to the Yamis. Then there are the garts who are eager to get into fights, the Lorath who are eager to prove their worth to the universe, and the spacers who have been growing more militant.

Instead of that you gave this great fuck off speech and killed the idea of a combined effort to help Yamatai, extending the war for them and keeping it from expanding to other nations. I have plenty more time to work on my own projects and I got to drop some ‘who are the real badguys here’ philosophy on Yuumi.

So I find myself ready to relax and enjoy the rest of this conference but something is not sitting quite right. You were supposed to turn down Yamatai’s offer eventually but instead you did it right away. The more I think about this the more I find it odd which makes me wonder…

… what do you have planned for the NMX?”

Re: Recess

Pyros sat listening intently to Wazu as he went on, but the Premier simply rolled his cane's head in his hand, as he finished up. He light the silence hang there for a moment as the Sky Marshall seemed to grasp for a response to a question he couldn't answer easily. Nepleslia's goals with the NMX were not exactly for everyone to hear.

"Sorry, Wazu, but those details are classified at the moment, save for the operation to retake Rok'veru. Though..." Pyros pointed his cane at Flint, "If you want more, you can try to wriggle it out of Flint there."

Re: Recess

“If I felt that this secret was limited to mere combat operations I would not have stopped by.”

He would then turn his attention to flint, walking into the room just a few steps before closing the door behind him. “Care to share with the class flint?

You may disagree with my methods, or no longer trust my collection of absurdly high security clearances now that I am on ice with Nepleslia but we are still on the same team…

… or at least we’re working for the same goals, and against the same baddies.”

Re: Recess

Glancing to the Lorath, Miki took a moment to revel in smug victory. Glorious. When it had come down to holding Ahrim's attention, the attention of the Iroma delegate's aide, as opposed to letting him be monopolized and possibly corrupted, she had succeeded and felt very pleased with herself.

"Of course," she said, "I am actually very interested in seeing your culture's art, as well."

"I've reserved us an empty room; I think I can get someone to bring us whatever we request. Shall we go there?"

Re: Recess

The Abwehran Front

Aegis listened to the words of the Abwehran, nodding softly before she spoke; "Vielen Dank, Frau Ministerin." in her best Abwehran, as she gave a soft smile; "I will pass along the good news to the High Priest, he will be excited to know that we've managed to make some good come out of this conference." she spoke with a soft smile, as she took a sip of her beverage. "I should inform him now, and, track down my associate. I left him to speak to one of the Iromakuanhe, and have not seen him since." With that, Aegis stood from her seat, before bowing her head softly; "Ich wünsche Ihnen alles Gute Minister." with that, Aegis excused herself to go track down Dico.

The Iromakuanhe Front

"Mmm, since I've found myself in the spot of the third wheel, I will leave you two to your exploration of art." With a soft bow of his head, Dico stepped back in a retreat, before he turned and walked away. He was defeated at that moment, there was no doubt about it, and it left him feeling a sense of full on anxiety... he was going to have to answer for his mistakes...

Representatives United

Outside of the bar, as Dico worried on his anxieties, his concerns were validated as Aegis strode up to him, picking him out of a crowd as she closed the distance and spoke in their native dialect; "How fared your end of the operation?"

Words stuck in Dico's throat, as he looked to Aegis, and could only speak the truth; "Terribly, the Yamataian representative weaseled her way into some sort of artistic review with the Iromakuanhe." He looked away, ashamed of his failure as he clenched his jaw.

There was a laugh from Aegis at that point, as she reached out and clasped Dico on the shoulder; "Then that shall be her undoing." Aegis spoke, releasing a laugh as she instilled a full on confusion in Dico's mind. "From the first days we have dealt with the Yamataians, one thing has stood out more than anything, they are a people without a true culture. Everything they have his borrowed, or faked. Anyone can see it, and if the Iromakuanhe have any sense, they'll see it too." Aegis was quite sure of the matter, as she gave Dico a nod. "Go power up the communication link, I will speak to the High Priest about our successes and partial failure." With that, Aegis gave Dico a nudge in the direction of the airlock where their ship was docked.

Flint crossed his arms, tilting his head a bit to peer down at Wazu's much shorter form. The Grand Admiral wasn't too excited with the idea of revealing military secrets to his own lieutenants, let alone the figureheads of other nations. The question itself, however, was fairly simple and had an equally simple answer.

"We're going to kill them if the persist in pushing us," Flint Vanderhuge said in a very matter-of-fact tone. "I'll be heading to Rok'Veru myself after this meeting is over to assist the boys in kicking them the fuck off our system. That the answer you were looking for, Wazu?"

Re: Recess

Ahrim felt the subtle, manipulative chastisement was enough for Dico. Had the young man approached the discussion in a slightly different fashion at least trying to better disguise the distaste between the two peoples it would've gone differently. As it stood, using Miki for the task may have been both a boon and perhaps a curse at the sametime.

She felt she'd achieved a victory, the smugness of it a faint miasma to his senses one that he hid well. Tolerant as he was, he felt as if he'd stepped into a schoolyard scuffle.

"Please my dear, lead the way." extending his free hand. "As you are interested in my people's cultural forms, I am interested in yours as well. It was one of the reasons I agreed to come along for this summit."

Re: Recess

“Yes, YOU are going to kill them all by YOURself. No talk of co-operation or even co-ordination between other groups.

I certainly would have bought that you would waste thousands of ground troops to try and recover an uninhabited ball of dirt floating in space just because they hurt your pride. You might even be doing this just to show that Nepleslia can do it by itself.

But I feel like if that was the case you would be making that speech instead of one calling out Yamatai. I get the feeling you are trying to keep people out of your operations. No one watching over your shoulder means you can get away with things you would not otherwise. I can only think of a few things that you would not want others to see you doing with the NMX.” Wazu said, looking up at Flint long enough only to finish speaking. Then he’d turn back down to his glass of vodka and take another sip.

He needed a moment to remind himself not to be too accusatory. Running around making accusations worked fine in the Phalanx Phillip cartoons but this was real life.

“I plan to continue the NMX mitigation strategy I originally laid out for Nepleslia. This could very well involve tinkering with their internal politics, launching combat operations, and generally keeping Yamatai involved in this war instead of their next one. I would rather be adjusting my strategy accordingly than stepping on Nepleslia’s toes.”

Re: Recess

Flint tilted his head to the side a bit and thrust his chin a bit higher, looking down at Wazu in more ways than one. The Grand Admiral did not entertain the notions that Wazu was implying; instead, he thought about why he was here, what he was planning to do, and how much of his business was not this man's.

"I don't need to hide what I intend to do from anyone, Heram. I don't hide at all, nor do I need to get away with anything, because I don't fear a single person or thing that this universe has shown me," Flint stated bluntly with a vicious glint rolling about his expression. "Any of these senators, delegates, generals, commanders, anyone is welcome look over my shoulders, because that's all they can do."

Flint turned to Pyros for a short moment. "Premier, there's some military business about our Rok'Veru progression on hold in our shuttle. I'll be taking that call now; I'll be back to continue aiding you at the conference as soon as I'm done."

The ID-SOL reached up and lightly gripped the rim of his hat as he prepared to leave, readjusting it atop his head. "As for whatever plans you have, Heram, you can do whatever you want over there with the aliens for all I care. But the moment any of that rotten business sets foot in this nation," Flint continued in a stern voice, glancing over at Pyros for a moment before look back at Wazu with an amused smirk. "I will be the one to make sure it, and the people who perpetrated it, aren't able to 'set foot' ever again. So watch where you let your projects wander, Heram. It would just break my heart to have to make your legs a matching pair."
