Hi all!

I've been aware of this site for a long time - I even made an attempt to start playing once. I'm going to do better this time! Years ago, I spent most of my free time roleplaying on boards like this one. It's been a while, but I miss the type of people I got to meet in a place like this and the creative outlet. I'm sure I'll be rusty - bear with me. Feedback is always welcome.

About me: I'm a pretty laid back guy who doesn't see much point in (actual) drama. I like to solve my problems with a level head. I love good stories - give me a plot I can grab onto and you've got my attention. Because of that, I love reading books, watching anime, and playing games - I'm currently barely into Cibola Burn, love GitS/Gurren Lagann/etc, and am hoping the Homeworld remaster doesn't let me down. I work at a pretty popular game company and love my job. My fiancee and I have a baby on the way, which is easily the thing I'm most excited about in recent years.

What I'm looking to play: Pretty much anything! If I were to choose independent of plot, open roles, etc, etc, I might go for an android doctor or starship operator. I've played a number of more direct combatants in the past, so while I'd enjoy that, my leaning is something a little more character-driven.

I think that covers it for now. Looking forward to playing alongside you all!

I am Nashoba one of the Site Admins, a Game Master with Yamatai, and the Faction Manager of the Hidden Sun Clan. Well, I am sure that you will be able to find a place to fulfill your current objectives. We have a wide range of structured roleplay plots, and there is always the Open Roleplay if you prefer.

If there is anything I can do to assist you, just ask. If you have questions, you can ask them here or you can visit our IRC. There are always plenty of folks around who can answer most common questions.
 
I remember a "Brady Dust" whom was with us very early on at the start of the Miharu plot. He played this tech-backward cook guy.

I think I'd like to hop into one of the structured plots - will just have to find the right one once I've got a better idea of who needs what. After spending some time in the chat last night, I think Yamatai might be a good starting faction for me. I'll check the plots out and see who is looking for more. :) If anyone is looking for a medic/scientist/operator let me know!

Afraid that's not me, by the way. I made a character but don't think I ever really got started last time.

I think I'd like to make a character for either the YSS Eucharis or the YSS Aeon - both have the general exploration (and the consequences thereof) vibe that I think I'd enjoy and fit the rough shape of the character I think I'd like to play. Before I submit a character, there isn't much overlap in their crew needs. The Eucharis is looking for a Science Officer, which fits my concept the best, and the Aeon is looking for an engineer, which I could fit with a few small tweaks. I'm not sure which crew might need people more or has a 'better' opening in their plot for the addition of a new player. I'd be happy to talk to either of you (the GMs) to work out best fit, etc!

And yeah, it seems most of the Yamataian ships have the same needs: Medics, Techs, Scientists, for some reason. Guess everyone wants to play bridge bunnies and combat puppies.
 
Nothing wrong with that. :) The best parts of shows like Yamato 2199 tend to happen on the ship. I did notice that your own recent character seems to skew towards combat, though! So not everyone!

The Aeon actually has a few more openings after removing some inactive folks. So its really your choice. Either way glad to have you in SARP.
 
I'll go with the Eucharis for now. If I have enough time remaining I might try to join both if I think I can do them each justice.

Nunagawa Mio? Yeah, I made her Infantry, because I already had a Technician and a Medic on two other ships!
