RP: LSDF Val'ta [In-Flight Social] - When you got Religion

LSDF Val'ta, Deck 7, Brig

As she bantered back and forth with Akemi and managed to offend him by suggesting Aran'ya held that leash, She'd hear the quiet patter of feet to the door and glanced back over her shoulder at the cavalcade of comedy suddenly ensuing as the girls began vying for 'prettiest kitty'. Vee, however was notably absent as Ash glanced around the room, "Hey Vee!" Catcalls of birdcat made her chuckle, ok so she deserved that, having landed quiet noisily on her rump-end on their roof mid-storm... or was it because cat amongst birds? She'd ask later as she gave an amused laugh watching the girls start up with the hijinks, Akemi's offer made her sigh, leave it to the male cat to offer up an 'unbiased' opinion, "Girls, Girls... Girls!" She waited for a few seconds to see if she had their attention before proceeding, "Do you girls need anything? Food? Drinks? Trash tossed out?" That last part was directed towards Akemi with an impish, innocent smile, before her attention wandered back to the pile of kitties. Suddenly she almost missed her friends back home.

Ny'za jumped a little when the New Tur'lista fell so close to her, giving her a bit of a shock, fluttering her wings some. Of course she spent a moment or so watching him, but that's all it took to realize that he had been injured, so she quickly made her way over since she was the closest to the man. She couldn't do much for the man though but she turned his head so he wouldn't suffocate on his nose bleed, then she simply kept him 'afloat' just so he didn't have to worry about that until the medic arrived.

She gave her assistance in getting the man off the course, she knew he wouldn't be returning to the course any time soon. "Try to relax." She said to him before slowly making her way back to the course, she would have to take it a little more carefully so she did not injure herself, but she wasn't going to let the course beat her.

Er'red had put on the somewhat less embarrassing dark LSDF uniform by the time he arrived at the bar, but he couldn't help but fiddle with the back before he turned the corner to walk in. Hoping for a quiet, peaceful drink of something after that mission and making peace with his rocks. As he walked in he narrowly avoided getting hit in the head by a flying highball glass on a little hardlight disk and stumbled, spinning around as the highball curved back onto its intended course from the near-miss.

Before he could turn back around he managed to catch his own ankle with his foot and went from a stumble to a full on tumble towards the captains table with a quiet and surprise "Waaah!"

"I might have a bad rap among some, but my concern for safety in the lab is top-notch." Aran'ya spoke, allaying the concerns of the Captain over letting the Mishhu samples get out of containment. She did however seem quite amused at Porrim's reaction to her little suggestion of being a test subject, which was part of the point of even mentioning such things -- one never quite could pin down what the overly-stimulated Porrim was going to want to try next to raise the bar. Though maybe the larger winged L'manel was even a bit more eager about it than even the biochemist expected.

"Aye, Captain. You can test my data anytime," replied Widow with a sarcastic little chortle, patting the obviously inebriated expedition leader on the back once between her fluffy black wings. Was that a joke or an offer? "Though by the looks of it you might be testing the floor pretty soon if you keep that up," added the medical staffer with a hint of concern in her voice. It was just in that moment that Er'red appeared tumbling at the table with abandon, which nearly caused her to knock over the drink that was coming her way on a hardlight disk. "Or maybe he's gonna do it for you?"

A hand snapped out and caught the back of Er'red's uniform between his wings, the fabric making for a temporary hand hold and giving the leverage needed to hoist the stumbling Fyunnen to his feet rather than make good on his journey to collide with the Captain's table, or perhaps to throw himself at her feet. Once Mirage was certain that the man wouldn't loose his feet again she clapped him on the shoulder while cheerfully inquiring, "New strategy to get the ladies to fawn over you Cadet?" Grinning down at the man, Mirage mused over whether the technique would have been more rewarding on a Yamataian ship where everyone is wearing skirts.

The Captain was about to tell Aran'ya something before being fallen towards by the Cadet. Porrim gasped and her wings fluttered before she realised it was Er'red. Fortunately, the quick grab from Mirage prevented him from falling into a barstool, or perhaps Porrim's lap. "My my, Mirage," She said, taking Er'red by the hand as he got his bearings and pulling him beside her, offering him a barstool. "I think it might be working." She looked over to Ursula and snapped her fingers.

Ursula leaned up from under the bar while J'ann was adjusting the routes for his hardlight glassware. "What's your order then, Cadet?" She asked, smirking at Porrim since she had an idea of what the Captain might do next to redden his face some more. The selection behind the Lmanel bartender seemed extensive enough, with all the good drinks in colourful bottles with artful labels.

While Er'red was giving his order, Porrim quickly got her thought train back together for Aran'ya. "Of course. The more data," she cast a glance towards Er'red, leering before turning her head back to the doctor, "the merrier~"

With Ny'za's assistance, the New Tur'lista's bleeding nose and broken arm were put in a more favourable position when the medics came by. They were able to drag him across the surface of the impact dampening material and towards a stretcher. The Lmanel meanwhile clambered up the steps towards the next obstacle. Before her was a walkway with a swinging bar.

Watching someone go through it, it was possible with enough of a leap to jump over it - but as she saw one Fyunnen demonstrate, sticking the landing was the hard part and they nearly stumbled and fell off the walkway. Thankfully, the drop down was a lot smaller than the drop before, and it seemed it all came down to timing. Worse to worse, the swinging bar was aimed at the chest level, so crouching beneath it was possible for a safer option.

As soon as Ashlinn asked the question, she got plenty of replies, drowning each other out. "Food good! Sweets!" "Ya ya!" "Game!" "A big butt!" were the few clear statements somewhere in the flood Akemi and Ashlinn were given, and then some. "Pillows!" Was the next final bit of speech before the cats begun to agree with each other.

Vee raised a hand for calm. "I think the gist of what the girls want is comfort - and we mean pillows, blankets, that sort of thing." She translated. Peering inside though, Ashlinn and Akemi could both see that the girls had cannibalised the bunk beds, putting the mattresses and bedding together in a scrambled pile and sleeping in that together instead of how a prisoner normally would.

"We simply don't have enough." The black haired Nekovalkyrja crossed her legs and pouted - since she had to sleep amidst her sisters too. Some of this was down to Nekovalkyrja habit in particularly close knit units on some YSE ships for wanting to shack up together, but the extent and haphazardness the cats had thrown together here was a bit much.

Ash blinked as the girls all started speaking up in unison and vocalizing a long list of complaints. The top of the list apparently was comfort. That was something she could do. She'd glance back at Akemi, "Stop trying to get them naked, for the love of our ancestors." She'd been overwhelmed with the girls speaking at once, and the previous conversation had slipped slightly, right now? she felt a good reiteration and a look that could melt steel was in order as she then glanced back towards the girls, "I'm sure I can get them to send down some more pillows and blankets...." She actually looked longingly towards the pile for a moment before glancing back at Vee, "Anything else?" She already had a hardlight console in front of her as she routed the request up to Porrim since, until told otherwise, she didn't have anyone else to ask about this. And it was informal, since she was pretty sure the cap'n would get bored halfway through her original, highly structured and official request. She paused, erased it again and ended up sending up, 'Hey, Captain? The girls are requesting some more pillows and blankets, it's..uh a communal request - we all tend to curl up in balls of and tight knit units tend to spend their time in a massive pile and the provided stuff wasn't exactly enough. ~Ashlinn' She attached a quick picture of the pile of bedding in the middle, once she got a clear enough view of it past the pile-o-neko in the window.

Deciding to let Ashlinn think he felt shunned Akemi silently turned to exit and fly out of the brig and over to his room. Once he was there he grabbed two hand woven Tempri-sama blankets, a Game Buddy and a karaoke machine. He made sure his game console contained no information he wouldn't want shared and made backed up files on both devices in case the prisoners messed with him. Very little time was needed given his digital brain. When he was finished preparing things he quickly began hovering back over to the cute captives to share.

Pitch reached the next obstacle after assisting with the injured man and looked it over. The obvious answer was to simply crawl under the bar and proceed on from there, but this obstacle course was designed to help with training so taking the easy way out of this would be pointless. There was no way she wasn't at risk if she tried to jump though., maybe if it wasn't a walkway and just a wide bath it'd be easy, but her balance was always a concern.

It took a moment of consideration but she came up with an idea, something that would push herself while still not making it likely to fail. She watched the bar come along a couple more times, getting the timing down and once she was satisfied with it, she jumped, not over the bar, but rather onto it, and then shimmied her way across it to the other side.

It took a while, but soon the Brig didn't look like a brig at all. Ashlinn's request had come through and some confused looking security staff showed up with blankets and pillows on a trolley, as requested. While they were Akemi returned hauling the Karaoke machine, Game Buddy and blankets of his own, he was able to toss them through, and they were snatched up by slender fingers. It looked like a recreation room for a group of much happier kittens.

"You two must be nuts," A Yamataian security guard commented, glancing incredulously between Ashlinn and Akemi, then back through the barrier at the Neko, who were scrolling through the karaoke list and picking the intro song to Ori-V-Frame and putting it on, Akihiko and Emi fumbling for the microphones while Vee was investigating the Game Buddy with Maya under a blanket.

♫ Heavy Metal L-Gaim - Time For L-Gaim ♫

The security guard stifled a laugh and brushed her hair aside. "I don't think you'll be getting those back..." she gave the man a playful punch in the shoulder and walked off with her peers.

Ashlinn and Akemi's communicators blinked with a note from Porrim:
Oh, dear me~ Is our brig being turned into a hotel now? I am obliged to treat guests like this fairly pending trail, but perhaps this shall be my only delivery, otherwise I'll have to do this for everyone who comes waltzing through our brigs.

Akemi only has one Karaoke machine after all~! I think you're being played~!
As they were reading, the cell door opened and Akemi was grabbed by the sleeve, followed by Ashlinn being snatched and hauled into the cell by grabby Nekovalkyrja, and they found themselves thrown into the middle of the blankets. The message continued.
By the way, I may have neglected to tell you both, their cell door's unlocked thanks to a good behaviour bond.

You play nice now, and be careful what you wish for~!
Akihiko, Maya, Emi, Vee, Webber, and Inoue had the two Yamataians at their mercy now, and Porrim - curse her - seemed to be condoning this so long as violence didn't break out! "Sing!" Inoue demanded, putting the microphones in Ashlinn and Akemi's hands as Emi picked the next song out: An energetic and uptempo Y-Pop song by Aoi Tanaka. The drum beats and synth came in quick, and then the xylophone to lead into the first verse!

After careful evaluation of the swinging bar's movement path. Her approach to the bar was good, and she managed to mount it and hold on. In retrospect, this appeared to be a poor decision, as the swinging bar's path of travel did not place Ny'za on the other side as neatly as she'd hoped, and the safest place was to drop was back on the walkway and shimmy the walkway the bar swung across to get to the other side.

She just had to hang on until either the time was right, wriggle along to the middle of the swinging bar and stand up and find a way over to the other side, or let her grip falter and end up landing in the safety mat. From her position straddled on the bar, she could see some of the other soldiers watching what she'd do next, leaning forward from the sidelines or queued up and looking around each other in amusement.

Ash was surprised when the blankets, and other items arrived. Finding herself grinning towards the other Guard she'd shrug, "Honestly? I doubt they'll pose a threat to anyone - They're happy, We're happy, Wars been over for years. And they look happy to be away from the snow and the ruined ci- AUGH!" She wasn't expecting the door to swing open, she'd mostly been answering the Security officer as well as reading Porrims note, and when the rest of it scrolled through she'd blink, "oh..." And then she was in the midst of the swarm of high-on-life Neko's. The sudden appearance of a Microphone in her hand made her laugh, "I'll get my revenge on Porrim... Assss soon as I'm done here." Yup, her night was suddenly taking a turn for the interesting as she flipped her hat backwards and glanced at the girls, "I suck by the way." She...was off-key the whole song, Not badly, but enough to make it embarrassing with how much the threw herself into the song. Even going so far as to make sure Porrim got a full recording of it. Because the Captain deserved to see the horrors of the torture she's unleashing upon her crew by allowing such shenanigans.

Akemi was naturally more than fine with being pulled in. "I knew you girls wouldn't be able to keep your hands off me for long," he said with a sigh as if mentally exhausted by how hopeless they were. He theatrically tossed some hair aside only for it to quickly begin falling back into place. Given his past singing experience the Neko had no problem acing his performance. He even expertly executed the song's dance routine and switched to his former feminine voice for its duration. Afterwards he dramatically bowed, placing one arm across his chest and the other along his back.

Er'red puffed his cheeks out as he untwisted his ankles with Mirage holding him up. Before he could make a perfectly witty and stinging reply his eyes widened in shock as the captain took him by the hand and dragged him over to a barstool next to her. He sat there nervously, hands on his knees. His face blushing noticeably as he stared at them.

At the mention of data he sub-coniously leaned away, eyes hidden under his large fringe. It took a tap on the shoulder from Ursula to bring him out of his sulk.

"Oh, uh, yes. I'll have a-why yes, a perfectly made Lor-light Allrise! Thank you, Ursula." Er'red said, as the fancy looking cocktail was held up in front of him by the skilled hostess.

Smiling despite himself as he sucked on the colorful drink with a little straw he turned back towards the captain and science officer curiously.

Ny'za had hopped that it would have a bit better positioning, but there was nothing she could do about that after already getting on. She did not want to give up the attempt either though, if she was in the field she would take the safe approach, but it wasn't training if she didn't push herself. So she made her way towards the center of the spinning structure to look around for a way to handle this. She might just have to make a leap of faith.
