For Reviewers:
  • Contains Unapproved Sub-Articles? No.
  • Contains New Art? No.
  • Previously Submitted? Yes; rejected by Staff.
  • Changelog: Link
  • Checklist Requested? Yes.

Let's try this again, shall we? I've removed all mentions of unapproved currencies - and this submission does not include and will not be including them - so there literally shouldn't be any complaints regarding this, since (with the exception of the Azorean Commonwealth's numbers, as they got flipped around in the original for some reason) none of the values have been changed from the original article.

This post has been edited to remove content that violated the Star Army code of conduct.

The tags also have been edited to remove those that are nothing but drama-inducing. - Doshii Jun

I'm wondering if USO (or at least planet 188604 itself) has a currency for the chart. It'd be nice to see new elements included like you originally intended, so having something that won't start an argument would be cool, but it's still a nice page update in the absence of new stuff.

Approval on this sort of update ultimately seems like a solely Wes type of decision, though. Since it's a setting page meant to inform players objectively, the mechanisms and values behind what currencies can be traded for are his purview.

What I'm saying is that here on SARP Wes is the invisible hand of supply and demand, or is the Gold Standard, or something like that. He is definitely in charge of faction-spanning mechanics.

Congratulations on your attempt at inclusion the first time, though!

Why does it matter, @Doshii Jun? Isn't making an article look nicer reason enough?
It would be if that was all that you were doing. Instead, you state you're not including things present in the current version. I can see there's things not included too.

I agree your version looks better, has more links, so on. Just seems like you could do the sprucing up without requiring a resubmission. Right?

What things are you referring to, @Doshii Jun?

Yes - and thanks for the compliment - but, well, I prefer to go "by the book" when it comes to updating wiki articles.

Does a faction currency and how their economy works even need to be approved? Like, if I say the Vekimen currency is made out of dirt, do I need NTSE to allow me to do that? Or, is it considered setting fluff given it's basically fluff of what currency you would find in the setting and how it operates?

Does anyone actually need approval to add their currency to this page? It's what a currency worth actually so important it needs to become approved? How many characters actively talk about exchange rates? How many go and buy other currency? Is this stuff valid?

As a note, the Vekimen Scal value has changed. To ease the process of utilizing the Gartagen Union economy, one Scal is worth the same as one Ducat. I ask that be added while I work on updating the Vekimen economy page, which will be complete tomorrow probably. This was discussed between me and Ira previously

Is this being resubmitted in the exact same state it was upon its rejection earlier today? Is it still lacking representation of all factions and still dictating the value of factions currencies that are on here without discussion with their FM's?

I don't much see the point in making this page update either if we're not adding new currencies. After all it'd just go through approval again when those currencies are added. Logically the best thing to do would be to encourage the new factions to get their currencies approved (without pestering them) and then make the page after that.

The USO does indeed have a currency in the Arcmark. It's value is 1:1 with the DA because the Frontier Banking Service facilitates currency conversion at that rate.

It does need to be approved, @Edto Xar'Sivaree, as it's a setting element.

It's valid until Wes says otherwise, @Edto Xar'Sivaree.

It will not be added until the article containing information about the Scal has been approved, @Edto Xar'Sivaree.

No, @Gunsight1.

Is it still lacking representation of all factions...

No, @Gunsight1, because it has information on all of the current factions with approved currency articles.

...and still dictating the value of factions currencies that are on here without discussion with their FM's?

This question was already answered in the opening post of this thread, @Gunsight1.

Syaoran is correct. Any faction currency that can be included should be included.

I've already included all of the (current) currencies that can be included, @Fred - and I'd like to request that you and @Doshii Jun please follow the Guide for Submission Reviewers.

As there is no approved article for the Arcmark, @Rizzo, it is not being included in this update.

The submission rules do state you have that right.

I don't follow the checklist in the reviews I take care of, therefore I cannot be of any help to you. Doshii Jun doesn't habitually do reviews either.

I suggest you find someone else.

In my unresignation thread, I expressly have two things that compete.

One is the power to "prevent drama." This was left intentionally vague and overbroad, to provide latitude for action not easily pinpointed or summarized.

The other was what I don't do — involve myself in the NTSE, issues about which started that thread.

I have not tested that competition beyond thread locks. That's considered safe territory.

Taking on this submission would not be safe territory.

That said, one can't live life in complete safety. Risk and reward walk together, in ruin and triumph.

I will take this submission, follow the guidelines for submissions reviews and render the checklisted judgment accordingly.

I do so under my power to prevent drama, granted to me by Wes.
