No-MS-01 ‘Jilanth' Military Shuttle

Price: 20,000 ks

1. About the Jilanth

Hearing complaints that there where not enough shuttles that could travel an sufficient speed to reach ships on the fringes of Yamitian territory, NovaCorp designed and put into production the Jilanth Military Shuttle, equipped with a hyperspace fold drive to allow it to reach the furthest areas of the empire quickly. A large part of the shuttle is given over the engines, creating bulges around the ship and it has reasonable defensive and offensive abilities.

2. History and Background

The Jilanth was designed early in YE 28 by a research and production of NovaCorp department, to be used by NovaCorp and the Star Army.

3. Dimensions and Crew Compliment

4. Performance Statistics

Speed (STL): 0.4c (gravimetric drive)

Speed (Hyperspace Fold): ~55,897,786c (5LY/min)
Speed (Aerial): Mach 5
Speed (Water): Mach 1

Range (Distance): Unlimited since it uses an aetheric power source
Range (Support): Effectively unlimited due to the extremely efficient recycling systems
Lifespan: 25 years
Refit Cycle: The Jilanth does not need to be refitted, however it is recommended that it is looked over after a long journey

5. Inside the Jilanth

Pilot's compartment: The Pilot's compartment is a complex cockpit with a large view screen and two comfortable chairs with a soft and hard bio-neural interface. The controls are in the form of a panel surrounding the chairs. The weapon systems are controlled by the second pilot when on manual.

Passenger compartment: A line of seats down the side of the walls is where 8 of the people sit, there is a gap for two suits of Lamia power armour or their equivalent.

Storage compartment: For the more long term storage, these two compartments are on either side of the passenger compartment and at the back. On the right coming in through the hatch.

6. Ship Systems

Hull: The hull is made of carbon-ring, with perfect diamond plating.

Hatch: The hatch entrance to the Jilanth is air-tight, meaning that air will not escape, even in a vacuum. It is opened by a hit pad on the side of the hatch.

Shields: The energy shields on the Jilanth are reasonably powerful, capable of taking reasonable punishment. There is a secondary "intelligentâ€

NovaCorp,

The Third Expeditionary Fleet would like to purchase a Jilanth as soon as possible. We're willing to take a prototype model if necessary, but would prefer a production model.

(OOC: Thomas, Rob, could you guys get back to me on this before the weekend?)

Yangfan, the Jilanth is already in full production, and getting one shouldn't be a problem. A Jilanth appeared in the latest Sakura mission, for instance.

Wouldn't having a shuttle that can only hold ten people be a huge waste of resources, if we're talking about personnel transfers? Catching a ride with a resupply ship is the most efficent way to operate, if the major intention of the shutttle is to make long-range personnel drops.

Just as you catch a ride with AMC, or contract out to a civilian carrier in real life. Making small craft to shuttle minimal crew members in a massive fleet is a waste of resources that could be spent on making real warships. If anything these could be officer transports, however arriving via a supply ship with many more crew still is most plausible to me.

Many Star Army ships are close to self-sufficient and go for months and months without ever seeing a supply ship. Experience in the RP has shown that these personnel transport shuttles are primarily used for transfers of ones and twos from Yamatai to starships on the frontier, and very often. Thus, the need for this sort of shuttle seems evident to me. Good points, though, Will.

If you are still intrested we are willing to sell you the production model Jilanth for 25,000 ks per shuttle.

Sorry for the lateness of the reply.

(OCC:Can't think of name.)

((OOC: Wes transferred one from somewhere else, I believe. So all is well.))
