Howdy. I found two engrossing ads for Star Army at ConCarolinas this past weekend, and I like what I see so much I'm in. You can profile me with my favorite sci-fi bits that include and are not limited to:

Robotech, the Mospeada series, actually. Mecha & rock 'n roll.
The Matrix series. Gun-fu and so much more.
And I like Star Wars a bit more than Star Trek because federations become empires and you see what happens with that double edged sword strategy. Plus space opera with massive battles in both series.

Kudos for the good ol' Space Battleship Yamato and the Andromeda tv series.

Booyah.

Hah! Wes and Nashoba were both actually just there for the con, did a couple of panels, I do believe. Welcome to the site, regardless.

Hey! My little fliers worked! I'm always thrilled to make new roleplayer friends and to have more people part of the Star Army community! The stuff you love includes a lot of the stuff I love. Robotech: The RPG was my first RPG I bought and GMed.

So, you've got to have some questions. What can I answer for you?

Yes I do, SA Wes...1) If it's possible for me to start with a Robotech Cyclone type of Power Armor...(Here's a link)
http://news.toyark.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/4/2008/11/robotech-cyclone_1226170938.jpg
... can you give/link me a tip on how to describe it's defense/offense capabilities?

2) How do I make my character known as "available" for a Plot? Do I just pick the stories I like most, Msg the GM's, and hope one of them approves the generated character's Wiki page?

:?:

Hello Katmir, I'm the Abwehran Commander, Faction Manager of the Abwehran Star Empire.

Welcome to the site and thanks for being interested.

A quick little mention, Star Army Roleplay revolves around original content and we eschew from the usage of copyrighted materials such as the Robotech Cyclone. In fact, we have a rather extensive wiki on the technology, factions, and species in the setting.

If you're interested in knowing more, we have plenty of new player faq's and guides as well as any assistance you will receive in this thread.

Here are some informative links that can help you:

How do I create a character?

Again, thanks for checking the site out.

Thank you Commander Caecilia, Fred, and MoonMan for your guidance on the StarArmy.com Power Armor types. And thank you for the friendly welcome. :)

Each faction has a certain build when it comes to their power armor. Below are just some examples of the design styles.

Despite an intense Star Trek influence on their naval style, Yamatai's got a Bubblegum Crisis design philosophy when it comes to their armor. Usually you find their armor fluid, and well build to a lithe or slender frame. They generally favor flexibility and movement, along with a wide-versatility.

Nepleslia is a gritty faction, for men and women, and their power armor reflect this. Their armored suits are usually thick and sturdy, and can sometimes be limited in movement frome ranges of, "restrictive", to "the only things that move are my triggers." Also, Mono-eyes.

Abwehrans have their own Power Armor that they've recently put into testing. They favor size and shoulder-mounted fire-power. Unlike the Nepleslians and Yamataians, Abws power armor is less advanced. So, in turn, they lack thrusters and advanced computer systems. Essentially, their armor is what would be if a MJOLNIR suit and stormtrooper suit made a wearable baby.

Gartagens have a strong a resemblence to the Tau in their powered suits, but generally seem to favor exo-suits for 'Star Army PA' scenarios. It's not exactly full-scale armor, per se, but it has enough active components to be considered powered.

All that and even more! We are always happy for new players, as was noted if you have more question just shoot them here and someone will be happy to answer them for you. Also if you need fast help go and hit irc, almsot 24/7 there is someone happy to answer your questions.

Three things:
  1. Where have you been, man?
  2. You going to ConCarolinas again this year?
  3. Happy Birthday!
