RP: YSS Heartbreaker [Mission 2 Aside 3] An Interesting Meeting

The sound of pots and pans being knocked over and thrown about filled the hall as you could see the resident Lizard woman scurrying out of the kitchen. She was followed by the angry shouting of the cook and a couple utensils, slithering around the corner to get out of the line of fire. She wasn't an uncommon sight on the ship at this point, especially around the kitchen and engine room. As usual, she didn't wear anything other than the respirator she had on, but unlike the respirator, the captain agreed to not make her wear clothing on the fact that she wasn't indecent.

She turned her head to the kitchen, giving out an angry hiss at the attack. With that out of the way, she started to wander the ship again looking for potential hotspots.

Hasewega was still exploring the ship, having barely been assigned to it for more than a week. She finally memorized that power armor bay and shuttle were on the rear of the ship and her cabin was the second the starboard side. She in the process of memorizing the way to the kitchen, having spent the first days simply following everyone else there before seeing the massive reptile and the trail of strawn about utensils behind her. She stopped for a moment, hoping to get some sort of explanation on what's going on.

Edtoto walked away from the kitchen in a huff when she saw one of the infantry of the HEartbreaker staring at her. She was one that joined the ship after the events of the Heartbreaker, and Edtoto still didn't know who she was. She understood the basics of the Hierarchy, though. "Santo Hei... May I help you with something?" She asked, her tail swaying behind her in annoyance from the previous interaction.

Hasewega barely recognized the alien in front of her as one many the Heartbreaker has been picking up as of late. Though respect should still be given to the visitors. She shook her head. "No, but I feel the question should be asked of you. Do you require assistance?" Her voice was soft but bearly above that of a whipser as she spoke, nodding the racket behind the lizard woman.

Edtoto blinked, looking behind her to follow your own gaze. She thought about the question, looking at the kitchen and sighed. "The kitchen is the warmest part of the ship that is not classified for me to enter. Unfortunately, the cook doesn't exactly aprove of me wandering around the kitchens. She found me curled up under the ovens and had a bit of a fit. Threw some things, chased me around a little. The shis temurature is... Well this is cold to my kind, and being cold blooded the only real options I have is find a warm place to curl up, or wear my Combat suit all the time. They aren't exactly made to be comfortable" She frowned.

Hasewega nodded in acknowledgment, thinking of alternatives for the lizard. "That is unfortunate." She said, trying to sound understanding with her voice to make up for the lack emotional countence. She didn't know everywhere the lizard was allowed for right now, nor did she have the entire layout for the ship down, but she would give it a shot. "I'm sure we can find you another, much warmer location, miss..."

Edtoto just smiled at this. "Find me a place hmm? Well, I can see the thermal readings of the ship. Engine room and kitchen are by far the warmest. The NekoNest would be a close third but I can't actually relax there because of this respirator. So I am stuck in the Cargo Hold. I really need to petition the Captain to transfer more heat there, but I have a feeling that would be a misuse of resourses, and I can't exactly kick the Neko out of their Nest. It is theirs after all" She explained, leaning on the wall. "And who exactly finds the idea of cuddling with a Venomous Alien Lizard enticing?" She asked as a joke.

Hasewega was hoping for a name, and the venomous lizard part went right over her head. "That... limits our options to some degree..." She thought for a moment in silence, her stare fixated on the lizard. "I would recommend looking into the recreation area for something but I don't think many people will take too kindly with a venomous lizard, such as yourself. Perhaps we can requisition you a pavilion tent for the cargo hold after the next mission."

Edtoto thought about these options, then shook her head. "I likely will not be on the ship after the next mission. I still have a mission of my own that I must complete. I would like some time to get warm without having to wear my gear though" She pouted softly. "The Vekimen don't like clothing, and I certainly hate it. I dont like wearing this resperator either" She explained before realizing something. "My name is Edtoto Nar'Sivaro by the way, " She said simply.

"Santo Hei Hasewega Sara." She replied. "It is a shame though that I probably won't be seeing after the next mission." She pasued for a moment before speaking again. "If you don't mind me asking, why doesn't your kind like to wear clothing? Is it a comfortablity issue or do you see it as a restriction to freedom?" Curiosity slowly crept onto her face.

Edtoto thought about the question for a moment. "We have never seen a need for clothing in social settings. They are considered working things. There is no point to having them on the station when we are not working. Even our uniforms as station officers are minimal" She said, pointing to the three solid gold bands around the base of her horn. "We cannot take them off, without removing our horns. So I guess it would be a comfort thing" She explained, looking down at herself. "Does the lack of clothing make you uncomfortabe?" She asked.

Hasewega shook her head. "No, I am perfectly fine with it, though I can't speak for everyone else on the matter. I was just curious though as it is always interesting to hear about newer races and their cultures." She thought back to her father and his journeys with the Star Army, meeting new cultures and learning some of their ways. "Sorry if I offended you."

The lizard shook her head. "No no, I get it. You are alien to me, and I am alien to you. It would be different if you were speaking to a Kiratan. They tend to be the less understandig of our kind. No one seemed to be bothered by the I'ee when they were on the ship, but I take it that my races close resenbelance to yours gives a sense of an uncanny vally" She side, looking down at herself again. "We are quite similar, only our digestive tracts are wildly different" She stated.

Hasewega had missed her chance to see the I'ee but did her tales about the giant wasps which seem to interest her on if they were much like their smaller counterparts. She waved the thought off for now. "Strange how species so far apart location wise can grow some similar biological yet so different culturally..." She sighed with a touch of remorse "But that something for the scientists to figure out for I am but simple infantry woman."

Edtoto just chuckled. "Yes, me and Ingrid talk about such things often. I do not understand how your kind can handle being in such open spaces all the time. I am constantly uncomfortable aboard this ship, and my only solace is a little den I made with the cargo on the ship" She said looking around.

Hasewega shrugged, running through a mental list of why people liked open spaces. "Perhaps we prefer the openness for personal space, or maybe a sort of sociological reasoning like freedom... I prefer my open spaces empty and quiet, free of distractions." She seemed to stare past Edtoto for a moment before snapping back to her. "I'm sorry, we shouldn't focus too much on my race, we should get you a heating element of some sort."

Edtoto nodded. "Something that produces heat would be nice yes. At this point anything would do" She said softly. "I might just go and use my suit again. I'm getting a little tired of it, though" She said, starting to walk.

"Actually, I may have an idea that might help but get me in a lot of trouble." Hasewega walked ahead of the lizard woman. "Please, follow me."

Edtoto blinked, but followed none the less. "Get you in trouble? I would rather not get you in trouble if I can help it" She explained, catching up and walking beside the Yamataian

"Call it an unorthodox cultural exchange." Hasewega said, leading her to her cabin. She peeked to see it was empty still before heading over to one of the storage compartments in the back, reaching in beforep ulling out her survival kit. She unzipped it before pulling out a red bag. "This is a small fire starter kit. There is an artifical fire log, a lighter, and cotton balls covered in petroleum jelly in this. This should provide ample heat but not draw too much attention." She offered the bag over Edtoto.

Edtoto looked at the survival kit with a small amount of concern. "You know... Fire on a ship is bad... Fire on a /space ship/ would probably be even worse" She said, looking at the soldier. "Are you sure that I should be lighting a fire on the ship?" She asked.

Hasewega considered this for a moment before taking the bag back. "You're right, I'm sorry, I could've endangered so many people." She said, stuffing the survival pack back into storage. "No, I'm sorry. I should let you be for right now." She began rushing the Vekimen out of her cabin.

Edtoto tilted her head at the sudden shift in emotion and was surprised at suddenly being pushed out of the Cabin. "Have I said something wrong? I was just looking out for the safety of the crew" She explained, now standing outside of the cabin. "I am not upset with you. I do not know what the Yamataian customs or ship protocals are. On my station, a fire would be something you could be jailed for, or even killed depending on the severity" She added.

"No, you're right, I was about put a lot of people in danger and probably would've been punished severely, thank you for stopping me." Hasewega's voice started to waver and her calm expression started to drop. "I'm sorry." She said before closing the door.

Edtoto just blinked at the door as it was shut, staring at it for a moment. With that, she shrugged and went back to the cargo hold to grab her gear and get warm again.
