RP: YSS Eucharis [Mission 28.1] Kuvexian Invasion - Preparations (YE 40)

PA BAY

"Ah no no its- not a burden... haha." Yoshida said as Tsugaka turned her attention else where. Already feeling less pressured by her unusual... presence, Yoshida took the time to do what the many others had done before her and quickly submit her own typical loadout to the engineering bay to get it set up as well as making sure to have it visible to the other individuals. Between the barrier module, gattling rifle and plasma blade, it was obvious she was a rather in your face combatant.

Putting some quick distance between herself and the spooky 'fellow NCO'- she still felt weird about the 'fellow' part even now, so used to being a so called grunt was she- and relaxes, doing some stretches and hopping up and down on the balls of her feet in place, hyping herself back up with a smile. Doing so was made much easier as she observed Tsugaka at work. Such a genuine smile! Truly, it almost reminded her of... no no, no time to think about that. The young cat didn't know the oni was capable of such a thing. Maybe she isn't so scary?

... No, she is definetely scary. Empress this is embarrassing... Being afraid of a superior officer of all things, when I've faced down swarms of NMX!... Exactly once! Yoshida was sure now, she would need to recover her dignity from that spooky red one somehow, as it was doubley emberassing to have the one making you feel so intimidated in the first place trying to comfort you. Maybe beat somone with the gattling rifle again... or trying out the new plasma blad- waitisthatmatsuvo?

"Aahh... Hm, hey you!" Yoshida couldn't help but glare, even if it was just for a second. No, bad kitty. Do not glare at your fellows. Even if they are just... the worst. Ah... dreadful. With how things usually go, isn't he going to end up in my squad? As Yoshida took a glance around, she realized something. More than just a few seemed to know eachother in some way, intimately or otherwise. Tsugaka may try to hide it, but it was pretty obvious she knew Wazu as well. Mostly becuase Wazu himself seemed to give it away.

"... Huhh... wonder if this is a good thing or a bad thing." Yoshida said as she began observing the rest of the crowd, looking for signs of pre existing relationships between them, friendly ones or otherwise. "... wonder if we have the time to get together and, y'know, get to know eachother and such. 'Cause, at least a few of us already seem to know eachother for sure." It mostly seemed to be limited to pairs of people... Well, you certainly can't have cliques within squads! Nor can many people comfortably get to know eachother in such a... professional environment!

Matsuvo turned around. "Oh, hi Yoshida!" He said cheerfully. "What are you doing here?" He certainly hadn't expected to see anyone from the Kaiyo here, so it was a welcome surprise. He remembered the gatling wielding warrior was usually at the forefront of the action when they were back on the Kaiyo, but he was unsure of why she seemed so hesitant about something.

YSS Eucharis - Bridge

"Attention all hands: Set Readiness Condition 3 throughout the ship. Victory: Prepare to close the loading bay door, and close when appropriate." Hanako ordered over the intercom. "Wazu: report to the bridge. Anyone without a recent mind backup may want to report to the medical lab to do that."

Hanako went to the center of the bridge and sat in the captain's chair there, crossing her legs. "Sagara, contact the tower for departure and take us into space. Smith, arm all weapons once we are in space."

Sagara not sakara
Kai had answered the captain's questions before she had given orders, "I never got to fly a combat operation sadly with the sakishima for the three months I was her helmsman. I flew shuttles for three years prior, which I did 5 combat drops during."

Then when the orders came he snapped into action, "Hai. Eucharis to tower, we are green for launch."

["Understood Eucharis, You are clear for departure."], came the voice of a neko over the comms.

"Lift off in T-minus,..3..2..1 Lift off.", Kai said as he made sure all moorings were disengaged before lifting the ship with a steady and controlled hand on the controls. The ship soon sent on a steady course out of the atmosphere and into space.

"Planetary atmosphere cleared, all systems are nominal. Clean exit."

Setsuya
"I believe that is my que to go suit up, I hope we can speak again later, mister Wazu.", she said with a curt bow before heading to her Mindy 4.

Her loadout was a missile pod on the left shoulder and leg slots, a 20mm gaus cannon on the right shoulder, a drone launcher on her dorsal, an aether katana on her right hip slot, four frags on the left, and a scalar SMG hand weapon with an aether saber.

Satisfied, the XO moved from the medical bay on through the rest of the Plumeria. She found Cherry and Becker in engineering and queried them after a quick salute and gaining entrance through the blast shutters.

"Will one of you will be joining the away mission? I would suggest only one of you do so. Please proceed to find your Mindy and look to Tsuguka-heisho for further instructions if you are planning on joining them. Good day, Jôtô Heisho, Jôtô Hei." She removed herself from engineering with a bow.

Soon, she was querying Charisma if any soldiers were perhaps still in their rooms and realized the galley was currently manned.

"Ittô Heisho Lime, Ittô Heisho Mango..." She began after a salute and stated what she had said to Daniel Becker and Cherry, almost verbatim, sans the relative ranks.

Power Armor Bay

Majime entered and snapped a salute off to Tugs and the others assembled before looking to the cane-toting and goo-wielding man whose coat had turned almost too many times to count on a NH-29's hand.

"Heram J. Wazu," she said nearly the man's full name, then went on as she held her hands behind her back and looked about the bay, then back at the scientist. "I would like it if I could speak to you on your way to the bridge."

"Hai." The response was cooled, much like the bridge's air. Or maybe the vacuum of space. Speaking of, once the Eucharis had cleared the atmosphere by a kilometer, a low and steady hum joined the chorus of her engines; Many of the starship's weapons started to draw a fraction of power from the Eucharis's aetheric heart; energy chambers warmed up and filled, false munitions were set into firing chambers by autonomous robotic hands.

A strike upon the shells in the cannons rang out, a confirming beep from the weapons operator's console notifying her that the mechanisms all functioned properly; the "blanks" - electronic warheads used to test weaponry on the fly without actually firing potentially-lethal shots into space - recording the successful test before those same hands removed them from the firing chambers. The aetheric cannons glowed for a moment before fizzling out and cooling, their own checks successful - the Eucharis was ready to punish anything in her way with every weapon she had!

Engineering

"No ma'am, we figured it would be best to keep the technicians on damage control for the fleet battle," Cherry said, wriggling her nude body into a tight-fitting Type 28 AMES spacesuit. Becker nodded in agreement, and started doing the same thing.

Galley

"I can join the power armor team," Mango volunteered, flipping a large knife in her hand. "It's always nice to get to kill something bigger than a lobster." She chucked it into a cutting board hanging on a wall and then hung her apron on the knife as she left to the power armor bay.

Tsuguka gave Taharial a knowing smile, but then quickly put her game face on. Everybody was here, so it was time to get things in order.

"Okay, listen up!" The red neko bellowed. Their voice was distinctly low pitched and barritone for a woman, and their green eyes were quite penetrating as they floated up above the group. Their arms were crossed, and visible muscles tensed as they accessed a part of their personality entirely dedicated to crushing the enemies of Yamatai. "Our Shosho has entrusted me with the assignment of leading you into battle, and it's important that you follow my advice in order to keep as many as possible of us alive! This is how we are going to do it!"

"There are two teams! Wing A and Wing B!"

Two large, bright orange volumetric columns appeared before a Mindy sitting right behind her. They were lists of names.

"Wing A will be lead by myself personally, Nito Hei Chasan as medical aid, and Santo Hei Setsuya as our spearhead. We will rely on Technical Support information directly from the Eucharis, taking a spare drone with us if necessary."

"Wing B will be lead by Nito Heisho Yoshida, with Santo Hei Kanoe as tech support, Santo Hei Yukia as medical, and Joto Hei Shinomori as spearhead."

"If the leader is incapacitated, the spearhead assumes responsibility for the safety of that group. If I am incapacitated personally, Yoshida-Heisho will make calls for the overall management of the teams."

"Now, tactics. We don't have enough numbers to act defensively, so we will concentrate on a smash and grab strategy to obtain our objectives. The purpose of the twin teams is to allow us to feint, infiltrate or flank an enemy, rather than being all stuck in one place. Your equipment is your own choice, but I must ask that you do not overburden yourself if you have been assigned a technical position. In situations where we must transport something important, I will personally fly a Kuma shuttle, with Mister Wazu as my co-pilot. Everybody else will fit in the back. This will also be the case when signal strength may be lacking, and we may need a relay or medical transport."

"Any questions?"

It was about this time that Itto Heisho Mango turned up. Tsuguka bowed to Majime in greeting from her position in mid-air, but it was the veteran they were surprised about. They were a chef, but nobody dared step foot in that kitchen. Nobody.

"Are you here for inspection, Taii?" Tsuguka regarded their superior. "Everybody, it's time to go! Suit up!"
