RP: Yome Ismâopate Mission 3.1 New Traditions

La'tä followed after the group, taking with her light luggage. I am a little jealous that those here can see snow so frequently. Though, you said a place where they can make this weather for their guest? Is it possible we could maybe get this device on a ship?" She did hear the call for drinks however and spoke up to amend Rear's request. "A cup of yâty would be nice." After speaking she found herself a seat to relax in at the table.

Resort Lounge

Murr nodded as she pointed at La'ta after she had ordered her drink to let Rear know she wanted the same. She even confirmed it by using the holographic speech balloon to confirm it via text within. She was enjoying the subdued music as it helped to cut down the noise from the pyrotechnics going off outside.

She pantomimed looking at a menu as she wanted one to order food as the holographic avian and fish was making her a bit hungry.

Raer tapped the order for four yâty into the the table top adding two Voltam Tyo'te for his friend and himself. He reached across and pressed an indent on the table in front of Murr. An intergrated display illuminated with options, one entry was a holographic menu for the lounge.

Yoitoar smiled at La'tâ. "I suppose you could install a snow machine on a starship, but unless you have large open spaces. I don't know how effective it would be. And there is the matter of melting snow when you want it to go away. I am a Temaor'a, while Raer is Âdornorpa'a. We have an old Ismâo'a that we travel in, looking for ways to make odawin. We've made several runs into the Yamatai Empire. Those have been profitable."

An attendant arrived with their drinks and placed them by each of the table occupants. "So what ship are you from?" Raer asked.

Murr looked at Raer as she typed a message and displayed via holographic speech balloon :: Yome Ismaopate. I'm a Daho'a with a specialty for demolition. My shipboard duty is Security. :: She gave a brief predatory smile.

She relaxed back in her seat, slowly unwinding from duty and dangers, yet still alert that things may go sour. But with a very strong presence of Poku and the Military, she could drop her guard a little.

La'tâ nodded softly to Yoitoar's remake, thinking about possibilities for the snow machine that would work. After the introduction though she decided to speak about herself some. "I serve as a wapoin'a on board the Yome, however I also have training as an Obekâ'a, it's a common thing in my family to become Obekâ'a and serve other families of the Ruoka."

Yoitoar listened to both of crew members, although reading was more accurate for Murr. He entered a few commands into the table to order some finger food items for the four of them. "Demolition... that's definitely hazardous work." he said in response to Murr.

"We've heard about the Yome Ismâopate. Your ship has been featured on the news. You and your crew seem to find tragedy and danger quite often. Before our people started interacting with aliens. Such dark tales were just stories." Raer said, and lifted his glass, "May Siamaka watch over you and your crew mates." He said and then downed his glass. After consuming the contents he smiled, "Most of our travels have been boring compared to your tales. Although we have had the opportunity to visit some of the Yamatai worlds. I have to say we find them confusing sometimes."

Murr listened with rapt attention to Yoitoar. She was curious about these Yamataian. She wondered if they were anything like those that were assigned to the Yome Ismaopate. She tapped in her response about demolition.

:: Demolition can be very dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. When used properly, It is a force multiplier against the opposition that have the numbers. ::

She displayed to the group via holographic speech balloon. As she typed it was displayed in the same manner

:: Are they anything like the *Neko Yarme? We have a pack of them recently assigned to the Ismaopate. They are good fighters and are welcome. Even though they are furless and clawless. They do have claws when equipped properly. ::

Footnote: *hope I got the spelling correct.

La'tâ made sure to keep up with what Murr was typing, so that she was included in the conversation. Rear's comment sparked a bit of interest in La'tâ and it seemed like the same for Murr as well. "I would like to head about them as well. I have never gotten to visit Yamatai myself."

"Niko Yarme, it would be interesting to see how they compare with the ones created by our allies. The ones we met at a space station seemed to vary in personality greatly." Raer responded. "It seems the older they get the more interesting they are. Many of the young ones have very little life experience so they seem like bagli. But they are devoted to their government. The concept of growing people seems strange to me. If you grow them are they people or property?"

Yoitoar "We visited their homeworld. They have cities which hold vast numbers in towers. Sky harbors that never stop with traffic. And yet, there are plenty of smaller communities, that seem similar to ours. I even had the opportunity to meet with our ambassador while there."

"Visit? As I seem to remember it was more like he had to smooth out a mistake you made." Raer retorted.

Murr looked thoughtful as she listened to the exchange between the two, Raer and Yoitoar. She typed a new message to be displayed.

:: I don't know. Never got to know them outside combat. They was reliable when called upon to assist in operation in subduing illegal colonist on an unapproved planet. ::

Murr let everyone have time to read the holographic speech balloon she displayed. She took a sip of her drink, relishing the flavor. She gained the smug felinish content look, showing she savored the drink.

La'tâ listened closely and nodded. "Yes there are some strange things about them. I have wondered about the growing myself, it is also rather difficult to give them medical treatment, but their bodies are so resilient and strong, they do not often need it."

The Tula took a drink of her own beverage and then sighed. "Though I can imagine the idea of not having to wait for people to get older to put them into the military or even society is rather appealing to a government. They could jump start their military or economy."

Raer listened to the two crew members. "I hear that is what they do. But how can you be certain of their loyalty? There is a reason the clan rarely creates fully grown people. You can give them memories, but they lack a rya. That is why after the weakening they were treated as Bound people until they grew enough to become part of the clan."

La'tâ nodded softly in response to Raer. "Yes I can understand that, and even if you give them knowledge and experience, you can not just make someone mature, it is something you gain with time, unless a personality is forced upon you. That however is another matter in itself though." She took another sip and sighed. "Not the mention the absence of not just pia, but punla as a whole. I would not know who to go to for help and advice if I were born in such a way."

Yoitoar nodded in response to La'tâ, "I think I prefer dealing with Yamatai persons who were not grown. At least then I am dealing with people who understand family, and growing up. But some of the soldiers do like to buy things that a cute or shiny. Made a fair amount of Odawin when I had a group of them on leave."
