Taii Tsukisaki Valesti was in her usual seat, occupying the command chair in the middle of the Bridge. The ceremonial sword that Edtoto was now well acquainted with was safely stowed in the container attached to the chair's side, although the Captain's hand lightly rested on the hilt. She was idly stroking the grip as she glared at the alien standing before her, half-covered in dented armor and clutching what appeared to be a large hunk of mangled metal.

"Officer Sivaro. Would you care to explain to me how the damage to Star Army equipment - including the custom armor you have been assigned and the unique prototype combat android - occured? Not to mention further damage to the Cargo Bay itself."

Funabashi leaned in closer to her console, attempting to look concerned with the display in front of her. Although every once in a while she'd glance aside at the Vekimen standing near her.

"I felt I needed practical combat experience in the suit, given my previous experiences in Yamatai Virtual Reality left me disoriented and confused the entire time. I am incapable of properly utilizing my species strengths in such an environment. I had witnessed the android's ability to heal damage, and felt participating in combat with it would be safer than asking one of the crew to do so. It also provided me with a challenge, and my history with it gave me the drive I would have against an enemy. As for the Cargo Bay, I was not anticipating exactly how powerful the suit made me, and certainly was not anticipating being thrown into a wall with near bone breaking force" The alien responded, holding the gaze despite one side of her head being swollen, along with every blood vessel in her eye now being shot, filling the white with blood.

She tried to shift a little, the armour weighing her down heavily without the support of her custom AI. "Further more, I needed to ensure the AI I designed specifically to work in tandem with the Yamatai AI to make up for my sore lack of experience fighting anything at a caliber that could even hope to touch Yamatai was functioning properly. Without it's assistance, or the assistance of the implants Star Army soldiers are given, I likely would be incapable of operating the suit to the efficiency that I did, and plan to make further improvement based on the data I received during my spar with the android" She added. "The android's arm was...it was an unexpected victory. I did not think I would be able to get at the arm, let alone last long enough to remove it before falling unconscious" She finished.

Valesti was still as the alien spoke, regarding her quietly as she attempted to explain. "Good intentions, then? You wanted to prove your usefulness?" She leaned back in her seat. "Or, just for revenge? To see how powerful the...toy...we let you play with is? However..." The Captain shifted forward and stood, her sword drawn in one smooth motion as the sheath was left behind. "A weapon is not a toy. Neko are born understanding this, soldiers trained to understand this." She weighed the obviously heavy weapon in the air before Edtoto, eyes looking over the blade and seemingly ignoring the alien. For a moment.

"I should not have expected a simple logistics officer of a small, insignificant station full of feral animals to understand how to properly handle a weapon. My apologies, Officer Sivaro. Your new toy might have to be taken away from you." Her eyes fell to the ground, before she turned her back on the alien, apparently more concerned with properly sliding her sword back into the ceremonial scabbard.

The reaction in the aliens visage changed almost immediately, her mane expanding rapidly and her teeth baring as her eyes widened. "At least my kind is not created in vats with war downloaded into our brains like mindless killing machines" She snarled, every sign of fatigue and distress caused by the armour vanishing in an instant as she used brute strength to stand upright. "Or would you have rather Hasewega, Skade, Medici, Ingrid, Pecan, or any other crew mate who can experience pain be on the receiving end of my kind's feral, animalistic rage enhanced by your own empire's power armour?" She hissed.

"We may not be advanced, but even a Vekimen officer would rather train their soldiers in flesh and blood, and certainly see it as preferable to have a piece of equipment damaged over one of their underlings. Maybe your view on truely natural races has been jaded by your young age" She snipped, taking a less respectful stance. "Did you ever think of that?" She asked, crossing her arms with anger induced strength, keeping her broken helmet in hand.

Funabashi was unable to keep focused on her work, or even to pretend to, turning slightly in her seat to keep an eye on the Vekimen. The alien wasn't making her feel very comfortable as she spoke about possibly injuring crew members, and the tense aura surrounding the Captain already had her on edge. Not that Tsukisaki seemed very worried at all.

"I owe my existence to the Star Army, yes. If they ordered me to wipe out every last Vekimen on your station, I would. And I would be honored to follow those orders. But, they have ordered the survival of your species. So I will ensure you have the training to survive." Edtoto's barrage of insults seem to wash off the Captain's back like water, which was odd considering she reacted rather aggressively to even the slightest perceived insult.

"I guess that's why you are so concerned for the android...you probably relate to it the most" She growled. "And to think I even considered you capable of emotion. I feel I gave you too much credit" She snarled. "No wonder you let your crew stew in psychological distress and I had to come to their rescue" She added, dropping her helmet. "I would be sick to serve under an emotionless monster like you, and that's coming from the insignificant, mindless, feral animal" She finished, turning to leave.

"The combat android we acquired is a tool, one that's usefulness will only grow in time. While it shows the capability for emotion, that function is not my chief concern." She seemed to be missing the point. The snarling comment about her crew did make her ears twitch, which was all the reaction Ed could see from this angle. "So, my inaction resulted in you ingratiating yourself with the crew?" As the helmet hit the ground, her sword finally returned to the scabbard, and she turned to face the alien.

She was smiling.

It was faint, and the Vekimen only caught a hint of it before she turned for the exit, but it had been impossible to miss. Funabashi had immediately turned back to her console, hoping the Captain hadn't realized she'd also noticed the brief break from her typical scowl. "Tomorrow you will report to Masahiga-Hei, who you will assist in personalizing overrides to prevent you from potentially injuring any crew members with your armor. While she is repairing that, she will also ensure you assist Pecan with repairs to the Cargo Bay. After repairs are complete, I am scheduling you in several training sessions with Hasewega-Hei to bring you up to speed on Star Army Infantry procedures." The Neko returned to her seat, ignoring the helmet resting by her feet. "Similarly, I expect you to report to Blesi-Hei once you have discarded your armor. She will be assisting Medici-Heisho in analyzing data from your armor and AIES to improve vital scans and control of your PA."

Somehow, Edtoto's punishment had merely resulted in her spending more time with the crew members she had already grown fond of. The same ones the Vekimen had suggested the Captain was ignoring. "Also, several crew members have recommended you for certain acknowledgements from Star Army Command. I have passed these recommendations along with my own. I'll have you notified when more information becomes available."

She could almost see that smile again...

Edtoto just glared, her mane having relaxed a little in confusion more than anything. She was admittedly rather hurt, thinking she was too quick to include the Taii in her perceived new family, but at the same time she was practically thrusting her into spending time with everyone else. No confined to quarters, no isolation, no anything. No requirement for psychological evaluation, nothing... Still, she was angry and conflicted.

"I'm going to medical" She growled, promptly leaving. The smiles, the insults, nothing here made sense, and she wasn't in the mind set, nor was she physically willing to sit and figure out this fustercluck.
