RP: YSS Heartbreaker [Mission V] Whole World Askin' How I Does That

As Skade and the android joined Edtoto, with Akemi close behind and Corgan providing covering fire, the alien ship finally began to react to their presence. The metal began to open along that barely visible seam, golden light pouring out...washing over the small group of armored individuals. HUDs instantly began to light up with warning messages, as they each started to lose movement control. First their main thrusters, then finer motor control...sensors starting to fail and systems crash as the field dragged them inside. Even Takeshi's systems crashing and rebooting as he temporarily lost power...

"I hope there's a hot Nightmare inside here," Akemi said upon being swallowed. "Maybe one psychically sensed my hotness and decided to pull me in." He always had to tell people he wanted to bang one. He could have gotten upset about being disabled so soon and subsequently captured but at least he wasn't dead. That'd be way worse. He wasn't out of the game and being tortured yet. As a result of that reasoning he decided to see things like an exciting twist in an adventure story and an opportunity to be exceptional cool if he managed to survive and escape.

Since he was stuck he naturally decided to start looking around to see what he was up against and where to take cover. At the same time he wondered why they weren't killed. Was temporarily disabling them the best they could do?

Edtoto growled. She wasn't exactly having a pleasant time, and now the male from before was speaking about screwing a nightmare? However, she had completed her mission, and without much more than some damage to her shields. Those were recharging now, and her systems had dropped but she had rebooted the system manually before looking around. Still, she felt she needed to address the elephant. She turned to look at Akemi, tilting her head slightly. "Why would you like a hot nightmare? I do not understand. Your IR is normal for those of a similar kind to you. I am also not warm-blooded and I was the first one detected," She stated simply, shaking in her armour. It was an odd force of habit as if trying to resettle the armour despite the fact that it was fitted directly to her skin. Still, she checked on Skade and Saba, glancing over Corgan without noticing what was up with him.

"Are you two alright?" She asked, turning to her team. She had been shot at by missiles, but she knew what she was getting into... Okay that was a lie, but she knew she was going into combat. "I hope I did not concern you. I appreciate your haste in coming to my aid. Thank you both," She added, turning back to look through the ship.

Alien Shuttle Bay

The group was levitated in, lowered towards the floor before gravity took over for the last few inches, armors and metal shells loudly clattering about. Everyone found their suits returning to life, but rather begrudgingly. They found themselves able to move and stand soon enough, as Ed consulted her sensors and checked on her small team. Anything more involved seemed to be doubtful. It was as if that field had sucked the life out of their electronics, leaving them barely functional. The android was having similar difficulties as he rebooted, warnings in its head about dangerously low power.

As they began to recover and take in their surroundings, they realized something else was coming in after them. A strange little shuttle, as dull and lifeless as they had all been a few moments earlier. It was pulled in by that warm light, rotated around...and plopped on the ground next to several other shuttlecraft. The room they were in seemed to be a shuttle bay of some sort, they were beginning to realize. The Freespacer craft was right next to the damaged I'ee vessel that had disappeared inside earlier. Which was next to older, more damaged I'ee ships, and several none of them recognized. Taking stock, some of them might notice they'd all been dropped into an open space between two shuttles themselves, one of which was somewhat familiar to Skade and the android.

The opening sealed over behind them as the shuttle settled down, the dimmest flicker of life returning to it. Inside, the pilot was thankfully suffering no such ill effects. While Takeshi had been lumped in with the armors, apparently the alien light had seen more of a difference between the shuttle and its pilot.

The shuttle bay seemed to have artificial gravity applied, and some sort of mostly breathable atmosphere, their sensors were already telling them.

Alien Shuttle Bay

The I'ee gunship from earlier seemed to have had some form of activity around it earlier; scattered oxygen tanks and a couple of open crates suggested that despite the complete loss of the cockpit, some of its crew had lived. This was soon proven to be the case: From one of the more ancient I'ee craft positioned neatly in the bay, a pair of figures hopped down and sprinted towards the armoured soldiers and the shuttle craft. They were very clearly I'ee, dressed in tight-fitting vacuum suits with an oxygen tank identical to the ones observed near their ship attached to the thorax. The two were armed with some sort of personal defence weapon: a small, blocky pistol with its weight centered wholly around the handle, lending it a very compact appearance. It looked rather like a squashed nail-gun. The I'ee, presumably Thi-Thi pilots, waved in an exaggerated fashion as they approached, apparently glad to have some company.

Corgan

Corgan's AI Wendy didn't have time to warn him what was about to happen. His HUD flashed and stuttered, displaying strange symbols. Then his thrusters cut out and his armor locked up completely. "Great. Eaten by a ship." The systems shut down and then started rebooting. He regained power in time to hear Akemi talking about hot Nightmares. For some reason, his HUD had a low power warning. Wendy was shut down to preserve power. He opened his mouth to say something then decided against it. Better to just pretend he hadn't said that. He wasn't sure why the giant ship wearing a cannon disguise pulled them inside but he was glad to be standing on a solid surface.

Corgan warily took a few steps forward and looked around the room at the shuttles. He recognized the I'ee ship, and the others looked similar somehow. I'ee design philosophy was pretty easy to identify. He kept his HPAR at the ready in case something decided to jump out at them. His armor moved sluggishly like he was in a tar pit. "Well, I guess we're a team now. As much as I hate to admit it, Akemi's probably the most experienced one here. I'm not sure I trust him to keep us alive, though. He got cut in half trying to stop a Mishu from getting killed. That's not the whole story but we don't have time to discuss that. Not sure what kind of robot you have there, or what a cyborg Vekimen is doing on a Star Army ship. So I vote the girl in the fancy Yamataian PA takes command."

He turned around and watched the little shuttle pulled in and gently placed on the ground. Corgan waved at the two little wasps. "This has to be the weirdest party I've ever been to." He said sarcastically.

Shuttle, Shuttle Bay

Trendsetter Three-Nine left her seat, stopped in front of the door and banged on it door dramatically for a few moments before remembering to use the manual release. She was immediately blown backward onto the floor, as the atmosphere within the bay exploded into the vacuum within the shuttle, and became very preoccupied with straightening out her starry blue mask, wig, and robes as she climbed back upright.

She pulled out a hand mirror to check that all was in order, slipped it into a back pocket, and pulled on a set of four steel rings over her sleeves, which they snapped into place, and floated spinning around her wrists, suspended by some invisible force. At last, she returned to the door (the craft far too small for a proper airlock) and stepped out to look around at the others.

"Nevermind~!" It wasn't clear what statement she was following up on, presumably it hadn't been audible. "Hello there, everyone! That wasn't too bad for an ion storm. Do you get those here, often? I hope I'm not late for the meeting..."

The well-dressed gynoid took a look around at the assembled party, and while the patterns of light playing in her eyes were quite scintillating, somehow they just didn't give her a discerning look. She barely managed to sort out the Star Army from the I'ee, and the rest (the group which included her).

"Hey Mishhu ship, do you have a name?" Akemi casually asked mentally. "Why'd you eat us and not kill us?" The Neko always liked the idea of talking with ships. He especially like the possibility of conversing with a giant, organic, enemy one.

While Akemi waited to see if he'd get an answer he looked around and decided to examine the coolest looking unrecognizable alien vessel wanting to see if he could enter it. If only there was a way he could magically restore energy to his power armor. Of course there wasn't any reason to think there would be anything available to do that.

Edtoto turned to Corgan, blinking a few times at being called a cyborg. She... She wasn't a cyborg. She needed to make this known. "Vekimen Biology does not take well to artificial implants. I could not possibly be a Cyborg. I've already rejected my contraceptive implant, thankfully there are no males on the ship," She said, standing up straight. Her armour was sluggish, and she didn't like that. Standing, the armour pulled off her body, and she stepped out of the armour, gagging as the apparatus allowing her to breath was removed from her throat. She thought to herself that she would be fucked without SOMETHING to keep her safe, so she opened up the Mindy chassis emergency pack and pulled out the uniform and NSP. Looking at the pants, she threw it away, but she put the tunic on. At least then she would have something to identify herself with.

"I take it we should look around. There is likely to be a way out of this creature, and if I am to assume right, one of these ships must be capable of power. We may be able to fashion a device to possibly destroy the creature from the inside?" She half asked, half suggested looking the NSP over. She hadn't actually fired this one before, so it would be an experince.

Spooky Shuttle Bay

"Wow! That's terrible," T-39 opined in tragic tones, regarding the Vekimen's expressed inability to retain cybernetic augmentations (though it could be taken as her response to the lack of males). As far as she was concerned, this was more tragic than being born blind, deaf, and paraplegic. On the other hand, she wasn't here to discuss aliens other than I'ee. She steeled herself to move on, which was helped less by being steel herself than one might expect.

"Oh, are we still fighting that NMX Mega-thing? Are we inside it, now? I was expecting it to be squishier."

“Uggh,” Skade groaned as she got off the deck. “Well, that sucked.” After trying and failing to ignite her saber, she sighed and put it away. This all sucks.

Ignoring one of the criminal’s lewd comments, the Neko looked at the Vekimen and said, “No problem, Edtoto,” and gave her a slight smile. “How are you doing, Takeshi-kun?” she asked, turning to the android, “You don’t look too good.” Such was her concern that she almost missed the Colonel’s suggestion that she take the lead. “Wait, what?” she asked, looking at the Nepleslian. “What about you? You said you…” Finally able to look at the man, she was pretty sure that he looked about Hasewega’s age.

“Sounds like a plan,” the technician replied to her crew mate’s idea, shaking her head and looking at the rows of shuttles. Her eyes stopped on one, and she asked, “Saba, does that shuttle look familiar to you?” She started to walk to said shuttle, but gritted her teeth at the suit’s protective, but burdensome weight.

After giving a sigh, the blue-skinned Neko followed the lizard’s lead, cracking the PA’s back open and hopping out of it, tightening her white braid and straightening her skirt. “Am I still in charge when I’m out of my armor, Colonel?” she asked, glancing at the Nepleslian as she went through her butt pack, pulling out an NSP and a roll of Molecure tape and put them on her belt.

Before he could reply, Skade turned to look first at Akemi running off somewhere, then addressed the Freespacer and said, “Hey. This isn’t the Mega-mishhu, I know that for sure. This ship doesn’t look very Squid-like. Guess they could have taken control of it or something.”

Alien Shuttle Bay
Takeshi

From Takeshi's perspective one second he was floating towards the alien ship, the next he was standing in the shuttle bay. He knew exactly how much time had elapsed. A few of his systems had managed to stay online. Everything but his brain had been shut down to save power. He was low on power but he could still move at walking speed for a while. The pulse cannon in his arm was nearly drained as well, so shooting anything was probably out of the question unless he could get more batteries somehow.

The android heard Skade's concerned voice and turned towards her. "I am fine Skade-hei, but I am low on power." He replied. Takeshi looked at a shuttle which was somewhat familiar. The Freespacer's vessel drew his attention instead. "Could you rig up a way for me to recharge using one of these ships?" He asked Skade.

Corgan

Corgan shrugged in response to the Vekimen. "I didn't know, I've never really had much interaction with your species. The ones I saw weren't quite so.. well built, or I might have considered it." He said, examining her body with his eyes. With a shrug, he set down his HPAR on the ground and powered off his armor. He pulled off the helmet and pulled himself free. The half ID-SOL was wearing an urban camo BDU, a leather belt, and gray boots. His green hair was short and spiky today. Brown eyes watched Skade carefully, trying not to be obvious about checking her out.

"Yes, ma'am. I'm okay with following you anywhere." Corgan said innocently. Damn, they really do know how to make em in Yamatai, he thought. "The thing is, I don't like space. I'm used to fighting on the streets. Funky City's an interesting place to grow up." He moved to the back of his armor and removed a large metal trunk. It looked pretty heavy, but he effortlessly picked it up and placed it on the ground. "Just call me Corgan by the way. What do I call you?" He asked as he knelt down and popped open the trunk.

After digging around in the trunk for a minute, Corgan pulled out a .45 handgun, a box of .45 rounds, and a belt holster. He slipped on the holster and checked that the gun was loaded. Satisfied, he placed the weapon in the holster. His right forearm slid open and he pulled out a Durandium survival knife, sticking it in his belt. "Got a shotgun in here too if anyone wants it. And some interesting magazines to fight the worst enemy of them all: boredom." He said seriously, looking up at Skade.

Edtoto looked at the two people who responded to her, before the large male mentioned a shotgun. Oh that is mine... She thought, turning and holding out her hand. "I will take the shotgun if you do not mind. I am not trained on the operation of NSP's, or at least well-trained. I have, however, been trained on the use of shotguns and other ballistic weaponry. If you would not mind, I feel it would be the weapon that I would best be able to defend myself, and those around me with," She explained, holding out her hand for the weapon in question. Hopefully, he would have something for her to carry shells in. She was not personally equipped with a shell bandolier, and shotguns were one of those weapons that took up a lot of space.

“I’ll work on it, Takeshi-kun,” Skade said, patting the android’s shoulder. “Rest of us can use power too, but you’re first priority.” Turning to the lizard, she asked, “What about you, Edtoto? I know you have more experience than I do. You can be in charge if you want.”

As the Nepleslian held out the magazine, the Neko raised an eyebrow, flicked her tail, and said, “I’m Skade. Though I am wondering how you’re bored after being sucked into an alien spaceship. This happen to you often?” she asked, smirking as she took the offered magazine. “Hopefully we won’t be here long enough for me to get bored, but thanks.”

After sticking it in her Mindy’s butt pack, the technician pointed in the recently landed ships and the weirdly familiar ship. “What ship should we check out? Need to get Saba and our suits charged.”

T-39 took particular notice of Skade, after she exited from her armour. It was true, the Star Army did have style! At least sometimes. After joyfully bouncing up and down a few times, she tried to focus on the problem they'd been presented with.

"I don't think this shuttle's starlight cells will be enough for all that. Freespacer ships are a bit more energy-efficient than Star Army stuff." That was a bit of an understatement. "Maybe we can give you a boost, just to get started? The cells should be nearly full, I only flew for a minute before I got here."

"It may not be the megamishhu but it is connected to it and I imagine it's possible it can talk to this ship or outright control it entirely with its mind," Akemi said as he looked around at a shuttle. "Anyway, if we're gonna talk about who's to be in charge I was a Itto Heisho before I left. I'm also wanting to find something to charge our stuff too." The Neko was awful glad he wasn't a Nepleslian or some type of baseline human otherwise getting out of his armor would've been much harder. Even without it he still had a NSP he'd carried inside it.

Corgan

Corgan picked up the shotgun and tossed it to the Vekimen. "Edtoto is it? Keep it, I have a better one." He said casually. "I have a box of shells in here, but I don't know where you're going to put them. Maybe you can tape them to yourself or something." He reached into the trunk and pulled out a box, considering tossing it for a second. Instead, he set it down and closed the trunk. Before Corgan stood up he placed the box of .45 ammo in his pocket. He walked over to Edtoto and handed her the box of shells.

"I doubt that the older ships have any power left. The Freespacer's ship might." Corgan said, making his way over to Skade. "Being stuck here with you ladies for a few days wouldn't be so bad. There's food in my survival kit. Well, it's edible, not sure if I would call it food.." He trailed off, realizing he was staring at her tail. His eyes moved to meet hers instead. "Anyway, arguing over who's going to lead is pointless. Let's just come up with a plan and follow it. Let's get Skade's android friend charged, then see if we can find a way to get back in this fight. Maybe overload the reactor or something."

Takeshi

The android was looking at the familiar ship now. Trying to remember where he had seen something like it before. It had some design principles in common with the I'ee vessels, he knew that much. He turned to the massive man approaching Skade. "Thank you, Mr. Corgan. I would be grateful if you would not get so close to Skade-hei. It would be a shame if you made any sudden moves that I might consider threatening. My programming is a little off right now. Who knows what I would do." His synthetic voice said in a friendly tone. Corgan took a few steps back.

The two Thi-Thi pilots stood quietly as the others prepared themselves, apparently already having collected what items they felt they needed. Besides their handguns, both had a small, caestus-like punching blade hooked onto a belt that wrapped around the lower thorax of their vacuum suits. Their heads were covered by their helmets, with polarised visors over both eyes, though it honestly didn't look much different from the compound eyes beneath. Presumably, they could understand Trade like the rest of the Thi-Thi escort crew could, but it was likely that they lacked the equipment to talk back.

Alien Shuttle Bay

“Either way,” Skade said, looking between Akemi and T-39, “Power is the priority. Hopefully once we get a more powerful generator set up, we can get all the armor and even ship ready to go. After that, I guess we can try and find this thing’s bridge or engineering.”

Looking between the android and the Nepleslian, the Neko patted Takeshi’s shoulder. “Don’t worry, Saba-hei. I wouldn’t let him do anything that I don’t approve of,” she said, smiling at the android. “I’ll go and see what the Freespacer’s setup is,” she said, pointing at said ship, “Just make your way over there, okay?”

After getting Saba’s response, the technician walked towards T-39, but not before turning her head and winking at Corgan. Who knows, she thought as she looked back, we might actually need to pass some time later. Haven’t actually done it with a guy either, so… Shaking her head, she looked at the Freespacer. “Hi, umm, ma’am?” she asked, scratching her head. “Sorry, what’s your name? I don’t remember if you introduced yourself or not.” After introductions were done, she continued, “Can I see your shuttle’s cells? Might need so reconfiguring to get it to be compatible with Saba’s systems.”

The ship, and the Megamishhu attached to it, didn't seem to respond to Akemi's projected questions. If he wasn't careful about where he aimed those thoughts, it was possible Skade could overhear them.

The I'ee appeared from their damaged craft, which was placed next to similar small ships...and those were next to older I'ee models, and then ones only passingly similar. Closer to the group, the damaged vessel the android was approaching became more familiar as he moved closer. An old Fox Aeroshuttle, something that had been out of service in the Star Army for years by now. A large gash was torn down the side of it, obscuring a symbol that made the shuttle's identity easy to determine, once the android was able to recognize it from the scattered bits still visible.

fetch.php

It would only take a glance inside to determine that the shuttle, while clearly damaged before being trapped here, had since had whatever retained inside of it cleared out. Emergency suits, rations, water, supplies...all gone. As Akemi began poking around some of the more alien shuttles, he found them disappointingly similarly ransacked and cleaned of anything that wasn't 'bolted down'. There seemed to be a few dozen of these dead, empty little ships of various makes and models lined up here, facing the now-closed main doorway. At the opposite end of the rather expansive bay was another doorway, presumably leading deeper inside the massive alien craft.

While the Freespacer's ship had been just as drained as everything else, those Starlight Cells were still functioning...and with the room being well lit, there was presumably some small amount of power being absorbed. It wouldn't be enough to power the shuttle, but it might recharge something smaller, if left to soak for a sort while.
