My deepest, humblest apologies

Hello everyone.

So I know it's been a couple of years since I kind of up and vanished. As some of you (assuming you're still around) may remember, I went through a very dark time in my personal life, mostly revolving around my marriage and immediate family. Needless to say, a lot of things kind of got dropped like hot rocks while I sorted things out, SARP being one of them.

I know I left a lot of players high and dry in the middle of what I sincerely hope was a rich and entertaining plot, and for that I'm truly sorry. I feel terrible for letting everyone down. :(

At this point I can't promise that I'm back to full operating capacity, but I'm happy to announce that things have settled back down to a kind of normalcy for me, and I wanted to pop my head back in here and make it known that I'm okay and in a better place now. If my free time allows, I would love to be able to reactivate my old character again in some capacity, but we will see how that goes in the coming days/weeks.

Again, please forgive me for my sudden disappearance. I hope I didn't make too many people too terribly upset.

I never got to RP with you but I really liked your character concepts and style. I am glad things have shown themselves to be back to a place that you feel normalcy with. I hope you stay back and can find some time to wade through the current Star Army drama and find some good times.

Oh wow, it's Floodwaters! Look, you don't have to apologize, you were busy with a tiny human and dealing with personal stuff and it makes sense that SARP was not exactly a priority. I'm just glad to see you posting again. Take things as slow as you need to. Welcome back!!

I think most of the characters in your plot successfully moved into other ones like bounty hunts or Scythe and Sienna has been left alone and will probably be fine to use with just a minor sentence or two that says she's been busy with X during the interim and is now going back into activity.

Thank you for your understanding, really. It warms me to hear (or read) it. :)

After sifting around some of the forum posts from back then I can see that they went on without me for a time, which is at least something of a relief. As for Sienna, I'll have to give it some thought to explain her absence, but somehow I don't think I'll be able to cut it in just a sentence or two. I'd imagine her ship has been impounded by now at the very least, and given her state of mind at the time I left she had a number of issues to work through as well.

At this point I'm not 100% sure I have the wherewithal to start up The Fringe again, but of course I'll keep it in the back of my mind. In the interim I'll do some thinking to see where to send her next.

Here's some ideas:
  • The western starmap / 188604 (Zack's indie guys took over a planet and became a faction, and that area of space is basically untamed)
  • Explore/adventure in the independent frontier zone, build out a new section of the setting with your ideas
  • The lesser-seen fringes of Yamatai or Nepleslia, possibly interacting with SAoY plots/characters out there
  • There's a new faction, Asteria, which is trying to become a haven for privateers, mercs, and indie stuff. It's heavily UOC themed, plus Elves.
