"Eel Seeker Missiles:
Atmospheric Range: 50 meters"

Sorry for basically double posting. I like to get the whole, add more content here and here out of the way before I fully read through everything so that I don't miss something that was added, but I happened to skim the rest of it and saw this.

No worries =3=/ it ain't no skin off my back when the NTSE doubles-down on my submissions to check it up.

The Eel bit is fixed: it was likely due to some changes that were made to the wiki hastily by Frost, as he originally prepared the page for me to fill out and work on. Other edits are done, too.

Why does it normally not have the NSN crest or DIoN symbols?

The idea was made for two big reasons.

1st: The intent of the ship was that it could operate alone and in deep space. As a result, it could run into many groups that might interpret the symbols/crest as a different nation. To avoid that, it was simply colored in NSN colors with gold-colored turrets to highlight it.

2nd: The ship can be painted black and given the crest if it's expected to serve in a more traditional/war capacity. Essentially, the profile and shape of the ship means that placement of the symbols has little value but can be done if the Jackdaw is expected to fight in close-quarters where even a small symbol on its sides can be identified.

If need be, lemme know and I guess I can remove that bit. It just makes sense that avoiding use of its military symbols fit the Jackdaw being a deep scouting vessel. You don't want people to identify Nepleslia wrongly as, say, another nation with star symbols or anchors on their crest =3=/

Got a civilian ship to pair with this? We try to add one normal ship every time we add a military one.

I'm not really sure NAM sells to civilians, but if it's absolutely necessary, then I'll work on something. I didn't know I'd need to make two ships to get one.

I figured I'd reply back here with a reminder that not but the other day, I passed a pet/species for the entire setting via the Maulwurfhund.

Based on the Maulwurfhund abilities, I consider it viable as a "piece of equipment" that would be available to things I view as "enemy factions". If that's not enough and this rule is going to be getting enforced, then I'll gladly still painstakingly create a new ship. However, I don't think a civilian variant of the Jackdaw nor a civilian ship I create will see use based on the actual themes of Nepleslia and the general popularity of Origin as the dominant ISS ship provider.

Without this rule, the amount of starships being submitted is close to 100% of all starships being submitted. Essentially civilian ships have almost never been made except for as a result of the rule.

Nashoba's made a lot of freighters and other ships by Geshrinari to pair with the military ships he added to the SAoY, it's not fair to him if we give all the other ship builders a pass.

It doesn't have to be made by NAM, and it doesn't have to be an advanced submission like this with sub-articles and such. A nice civilian shuttle would do. I'd also accept Kuvexian ship pages since we're desperate for those.

While the Jackdaw does not have sub-articles that required any out-of-the-norm approvals, I guess it's fair to Nashoba.

I just hope this rule is enforced retroactively as well as with other warships currently under submission, lest this might feel very odd to have to go through hoops to produce a ship. I mean, I have to create new art (just my level of work, I prefer not doing anything without art when it comes to ships) or get it made along with further push an article for something I don't/likely won't intend to use myself in the future.

But it'll get done. If this can be at least passed for now, I'll bounce the ball around on a Civilian ship and see what I can get put forward. The Jackdaw was intended to be done to provide my players in Farthest Stride an option (as well as my own future plans), so it has guaranteed use that I'd prefer to have available ASAP.

It's approved and I'm not holding up the approval.

And it is a hoop, but it's the only way that's been effective to get decent civilian ships in the setting. It's okay to make something without art for the civilian ship (maybe I can come up with something though).
