Now that the new character creation guide is up and running, it's time for us to get all of our older character biographies updated. There's no longer a skill stat system; instead, we've replaced it with a system that defines general skill areas, allowing the player to describe the character's skills in his own words.

Do you have a character with the old skill system on his character sheet? My suggestion is to go through the Character Creation Guide, remaking your character based on his old character sheet. This lets you take the new CCG on a test drive if you haven't already. If you find anything that isn't explained well enough, or is confusing, let me know! Your feedback is what makes the CCG better. Plus, if you see something that should be there, please submit it, so it'll be open to other player characters.

Let's try to get all the active character bios updated to the new skill system by the end of this month. If anyone needs help, post your questions on the Story, Characters, and Setting Discussion Board and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
 
Oops. Sorry about giving you something of a hard time over on the psionic post about this. Really didn't realise. :oops: Nice touch. When I do create a character (I'll get round to it eventualy) I'll be sure to use this system.

By the way, does this mean you'll be deleting the old way of doing from the site? Or will you keep it as a relic, like the old forum.

The old CCG isn't used anymore, but I left it up and left a link to it for reference purposes. I don't know if I'll leave it up forever, though. The old character bios will of course be archived.

When I do create a character (I'll get round to it eventualy) I'll be sure to use this system.

While some might say you're just acquiring a higher board rank to start out with, I think you hanging around and talking for a while before making a character is fine; not only are you getting to know the SARPG universe and the other RPers better, but you're also asking a lot of great questions that have got me thinking about the RP world in new ways. Thanks!
 
Changes 2005 03 12:
  • Language Skill Set merged into Communications
  • Fighting changed to Fighting and Physical
  • Medicine changed to Science and Medicine
  • Survival changed to Survival and Military
    (Military combat skills should still go under fighting/physical)
 
All the characters who weren't using the skill system or were using the old one have been moved to the Archived Biographies board.
 
Shina was switched to the new system some time ago, Wes. :p

I'll update my other chars when I get the time... >_<
