Ever done this text-based roleplaying thing before?

I've some pretty extensive experience roleplaying on various text based mediums over the past 15 years from IRC, PbP forums and various video games such as Neverwinter Nights and even some MMOs.

Any previous experiences you want to share?

Do you prefer:
  • Playing male, female, or other-gendered characters?
    Typically female
  • Spontaneous or planned RP?
    I am not picky in this regard
  • Military or civilian characters?
    All depends on the situation, Military characters are fun for sure but I'm just as eager to play civilians thrust into situations they were not prepared for
  • Humans, androids, anthros, or aliens?
    Hard to say, I do gravitate towards humanoid characters, though rarely if ever anthros. I do however love to portray androids and synthetic characters, aswell as characters that are totally alien either in physiology, mentality or both.
  • Being on a starship or being on a planet?
    I cannot say I have a preference here.
  • Roleplay via forum posts or in real-time?
    I tend to prefer real time IRC situations to forum posts but PbP is just fine too
On a scale of 1 to 3, what's your preferred level of these in your RP:
  • Language: 10 (I work in a commercial kitchen, have a number of friends in the Navy and my father is a sailor)
  • Violence: 7 (Am not squeamish about violence but would prefer to avoid really detailed and descriptive vistas of torture and viscera)
  • Sexuality: 6 (I don't mind sexual themes but am also cautious about the tendency for them to become the sole focus of RP if left unchecked. )
What's something cool you'd love to RP?
Either a malfunctioning AI or a freshly minted Lieutenant out to destroy the bug menace.

Welcome to SARP, though, kid. You'll do great here. Now for my required spiel that you should consider joining the Dig-It (we accept AI) or if you're interested in some Nepleslian stuff (albeit not as a Lieutenant) I recommend the NSMC 309th plot which just launched.

Oh well thank you all for the welcome. At the moment I'm still digesting the wiki, which I suspect will take me another day or two before I'm ready to make a character. I really am liking the aesthetic and themes of the Democratic Imperium so far. Also I feel I should clarify that while I don't like to play anthros I don't have any biases towards or against such characters beyond that.
 
Well, I believe the 309th and Interregnum are he only two Nepleslian plots looking for players at this moment ((of course I could be wrong)) So you're in luck :p Pop into the chat sometime btw! Love to chat with ya!
 
Scythe is looking for a couple and I'm particularly trying to get new players onboard. Could definitely work with you.

I'm also aware that there's an IPG ship launching soon if it hasn't already launched?

I couldn't help but notice that you like play as androids or synthetic characters. The Freespacers are a group I'd point you toward, as they are a society of people that have (over many generations) turned more machine than man by design. We're currently in the process of breathing some life back into them and only have one plot going right now, which is called Skeleton Ensemble that I'm happy to be a part of. I'd send a message to @Primitive Polygon if you have any questions as they are the Faction Manager of the Freespacers and the Game Master of Skeleton Ensemble.
