This is the details of NovaCorps new range of Atmosphere Limited Civilian Ships, of both the people transporting and private variety. Any feedback will be well received, and if someone can please give me some idea of weight or storage capacity I would be gratefull. I have permission from Rob.

1. About the People Transporting Atmosphere Limited Civilian Ship "Jonahâ€

Wow! Very cool. We've needed something like this for a while, now. Thanks!

The stats look fine to me, by the way.

Thanks! I hope to get Rob to put them on the NovaCorp page, and then we'll see if anyone will buy them (fingers crossed).

By the way, as the ships are civilian rather than military, who will actually buy them? I mean planet based companies would obviously buy them, but how will this be taken into acounting, will it just be assumed that a certain amount are purchased, or will someone on the site actualy have to buy one?

No ones answered this question yet so I'll reformat it:

These ships are civilian, built for the sole purpose for being used either by companies that do a lot of transport on planets, or by private citizens. Yet the acounting rules that I have seen, which state that 999,999 sales are made for everyone one by a playing character does not help this. None of the playing charachters are going to buy a massive atmosphere limited cargo ship or people transporter, and as all the ones I've encountered are on ships their unlikely to buy one of the personal vehichles. Stararny doesn't have a need for them, and doesn't pay for the things it wants. Thus how is the acounting sector going to work out how much income NovaCorp should get for the sale of this ships? Is it that Rob and I are going to have to come up with a figure for ourselves by working out how many would be needed per planet and then multiplying it by the number of planets? Or is someone going to help us out?

The government of Ohara would probably buy some civilian ships once I make first contact. But I'll have to insist that they buy in bulk and not as a PC, so that you can only account for, say, 10,000 units sold if I buy 10,000 units, not as 10,000 x 1,000,000. :p

You'll have to be patient though. It'll take the Celia plot another month at least for Yamatai to annex Ohara.

NOTE: The multiplier does not apply for starships, large structures, and other things that aren't made by the millions.

The numbers will be equal to the actual number of ships sold to various factions. Selling the ships can be RPed out, or sometimes done OOCly.

Ah I missed that part of the rule. This makes a lot more sense. Does the same rule apply to mecha? OK, I just have one question that has actualy been bothering me for some time. What is OOCLy?

IC means in character, OOC means out of character. If he were to sell you some ships OOCly, that means that you wouldn't actually RP it out, but work out the agreement yourselves.

I'm considering sending PM to the senators of the different worlds to see if they will but any. Would you advise this or should I create a post for it?

I'd think it'd be best to post it.

Looking back on this I really wish we would see more of civilian products being made. I know when I was trying to make a backstory for one of my characters I had a hard time finding civilian freighters. Also wish I could help but I'm still learning stuff but man would it be kool to more for civilians and breath life into things.
