Paladin Core Adoption Request

@Wes - may the Elysian Celestial Empire "adopt" the Ke-M10-F3301 Paladin Core (not the entire Modular Combat Armor System, just the Paladin itself) from the Star Army of Yamatai, please? I've been working on a future Elysian police/special operations/spy (or some combination thereof) plot, and the Paladin would in my humble opinion allow for a much wider range of roleplaying "options" due to its high levels of customization (when conpared to the relatively "static" equipment loadouts of current Elysian power armors).

Since I'm trying to get the Paladin Power Armor approved, I'd appreciate it if Frost wasn't allowed to adopt this. The M10 Core is simply irrelevant in RP given that it was never popular to begin with, and because the new variants of the Mindy 4 do the same thing but better. The only reason I can see Frost doing this, is to prevent my power armor from having the name.

Why are you bringing politics and/or unrelated setting elements into this, @CadetNewb?

Who are you to say what is or isn't "relevant" in the setting, @CadetNewb? Besides, isn't it rather hypocritical to complain about someone utilizing "older" setting elements when Asteria consists almost entirely of "older" setting elements?

...and because the new variants of the Mindy 4 do the same thing but better.

I'm pretty sure that Elysia - like Asteria - isn't allowed to have "current" Star Army equipment, @CadetNewb.

The only reason I can see Frost doing this, is to prevent my power armor from having the name.

Contrary to what you apparently believe, @CadetNewb, I'm not "out to get you" or anything like that - I merely want to provide the future members of my plot (though @raz might be running it, given what we've been discussing over Discord) with the best roleplaying experience possible.

Oh, dang. Really? Well I'd better get mentally preparing.

Since I'm only here because of the above tag, just gotta say: wow whomst cares, why is it an issue that Frost wants to further development of the paladin core?

According to Frostjeager's own page, he as the FM is in the process of updating the old Elysian power armor articles (not the paladin). Not only can Frost simply just update one of these other armors to be a gen 2 modular armor if he wanted to. But also I find it interesting that with all the planning that Frost as listed out, that the paladin core was not mentioned until after Cadet brought up something with the same name and Frost tried to say he couldn't use the name. I also want to point out that that Frost was the one who brought up that "Elysia can't use Yamatai current military stuff" so if he believes that is the case, I think that should've been part of his plan in the first place and not just brought up today. Also he doesn't want to adopt MCAS, which means he -can't- use the modular system that he's claiming is the reason he wants to adopt it.

I'm not NTSE of course but I'm gonna say my two cents about this, the Paladin core really is irrelevant. It was just meant to be a 'current gen' Elysian armor. However with the old Elysian armor's in the works of getting an update, there is simply nothing special about it. MCAS as a whole has become somewhat irrelevant because mainline suits are now made to fit other races. No one is going to use such an out of date piece of tech unless they have to.

Now I'm not entirely against Frostjeagr getting the armor. But I'd be against him getting the 'rights' to the name. However personally I think the best thing for this armor would be for this armor and the MCAS to be introduced into the civilian market (I have an elysian who I plan to send into independent stuff, and it'd be nice if she can buy her armor to take with her, minus the more crazy equipment. So I'm not totally objective, but even still I think that's the best idea) I also think the name should be opened to the public too if there are any 'name restriction rights' stuff. Paladins are a 'generic' concept in the first place.

I think Syaoran sums it up quite well. The MCAS is a Yamataian design to begin with, so they may not be able to use it. Plus, the Elysian variant of the Mindy 4 exists in the SAoY, and the Elysians themselves are updating their older armors; the M10 Paladin Core is irrelevant. Especially since the Elysians can just make civilian versions of their own power armor. It's quite suspect that there's suddenly interest in the MCAS now that I've moved to submit Asteria's own power armor design, the Paladin, even more so since I've made mention of it a month or two ago already.

Guys, you've made your arguments, there's no point in debating further.

Allow Wes to have his holiday time, until he can come back and weight in.

Request denied. SAOY equipment should in most cases stay in the SAOY as long as it's still in use.
