YSS Eucharis, Wazu's Quarters

Bronzi had entered Wazu's quarters the way a friend would. Uninvited. It was 0400, the witching hour. The hour in which Bronzi and Sura were at their most comfortably active, though they had adjusted to the all day schedule of the Nepleslians and Yamatians. Bronzi knew enough to know that disturbing Wazu this early needed to be important, and needed food and beverage.

A coffee mug clattered on a small desk(assumption) and coffee streamed into it. The heavy smell filled the room, and next to it was a Nepleslian spiced bagle with fresh creamed cheese on it. "Ight. Brought yer breakfast. Time to wake up." Bronzi snorted, his gravely voice inturrupting the gentle thrumming of the ship's redundant machines.

"VIshta sent me hea to make sure you dun get dead. She also wants to know about them Kuvarsians. But you know meh. You know I need to know how to kill em."

Wazu's bed was still freshly made, the man himself sitting at the small desk in the room with a set of Datapads set out infront of him.

"Breakfast?" He asked, responding more slowly than normal, "I am glad to have you, but we have not run into a whole lot of Kuvies. It seems that they do not have anything game changing in their arsenal either."

There would be a short pause as Wazu slumped back in his chair,

"This is not quite an out of context problem... though I think it presents more of an opportunity for Yamatai to change than as opportunity for the kuvexians to... get dead."

Bronzi was adding some cream and sugar to the coffee. He has a small satchel with him for just this. Coffee had become something of a passion of his since his origional exposure to it. Naturally he drifted towards strong, earthy flavored coffee, but he knew some sweet with the bitter was a positive.

He nodded. "Ya. Well. I Know less and little about em. I jus know somebody shot at somebody. So the troops are being mustered. I've been on this ship for only a few hours. Its tense. They are expectin something to go down. So lay it out. Yer smawt. You can anticipate."

With that Bronzi pulled out a flask and poured off a shot of bourbon into the coffee, mixed it with his middle claw, and slide the mug to Wazu.

"I appriciate the drink, but you do not need to play maid. I promise I am a lot better now compared to then."

" I know. Dats why I added coffee to yer booze." Bronzi said with a smirk as he began poured what was left of the bourbon into the thermist, shook it, and took a sip.

Wazu would take a small hit of the coffee,

"Yamatai is having a hard time picking a fight with its neighbors, and it looks like the kuvexians are happy to give them the kind of fight they are looking for. Low intensity, prolonged... vaugely .... " It would take Wazu a moment to find the right word, "... exsistential. It is the kind of war that feels like it is being used to justify two large military governments. Everyone seems to have similar weaponry and equipment... so I would expect what you have been doing will be enough."

Bronz nodded. He wasnt a creature of high intelligence. But he knew enough to get it.

"That being said, the problem I am focused on right now is the Rixxikor."

"Dats da bug men dat make babies with out ladies. Heh."

"They also seem to be able to pass along memories, and have an incredibly massive capacity for learning. Natural terraformers... sentient... "

"Engineered life. Bah. Always some dumb smawt guy tryina be a god. Tha yams wanna sustain a conflict. Eventually they gonna bite off more den dey can chew. Eventually it ain't goin be like da NMX. Them Rixxikahns are bugs. So treat em like it. My people encountered some bug guys thousands of years ago. First time into space. Lost two colonies and sail ships to em. Ended up solving the problem with fire. But I know you. You don't wanna eradicate em. So...why aint no one tried to talk to these Rixxikuves?"

"They are not a coherient people. They are worse than event he spacers when it comes to acting together. It is not a solution that standard diplomacy will resolve."

Bronzi understood. Kind of. His mouth opened to talk. It was clear his brain was working, but how do you deal with unpredictability. "Ight. Take em as individuals. Ones dat fight, ya fight, ones dat dont, leave em alone. Keep it simple as dat. Somethings dont needa be complicated."

"I would prefer to avoid killing anyone. And if we can show Yamatai that there are more effective solutions than a fleet of starships we may have gone a long way towards reforming their policy tools. I have some ideas, but I am still trying to come up with something that I feel will work well.

At this point. We are more dealing with a pink-goo style situation"

"Lot of spooks here too." Bronzi said.

"I like the yams. I do. They keep their composure. But they don't quite know what they are dealin with. "

"It is a new apperance here... I have had to broaden my own skill set too. I know more than I ever thought I would need to know about biology and reproduction when I was trying to adjust the Rixx's reproductive rates a few months ago." Wazu replied.

Bronzi's brow furroughed at that. "Uh...why was yer tryna mess with thur baby makin bits?"

"Well if we could turn that off then we could peacefully resolve the Rixx problem." Wazu explained.

"Or unite em." Bronzi said calmly.

"I know I aint da sciency type. Dats you an Sura. But ya give a ununified race something ta unify ova and dey will. Plus I derno...played a video game dat suggested takin way baby makin abilty was a bad idea. You realleh want dat on your mind when you lay in bed awake at night?"

"It would not involve killing anyone, and would inflict no physical harm. It meets all the criteria for an ethical action." Wazu explained, confused as if he really did not understand why it would cause someone to lose sleep. "And as for unifying, they are already operating with an effective swarm intelligence. They may not seem united, but that is just because we are used to looking at different organizational structures with a higher priority on life."
