The battleship would have to be here for some time, her damage too much for her to return to any fleet immediately. She was to wait here for the time being and receive repairs for her journey to wherever she was to go next.

For Kaede, it was a time to think. Many things, both good and bad, had come to him while on this voyage, one of which he knew he loved. His mind was embedded in thought underneath a familiar bench in the Sakura gardens that took over this side of the park. The leaves were beginning to fall, a sign of the oncoming winter back home.

The Taisa let out a calm sigh and leaned back, "Come on Kae, you've made harder decisions before..."

A soft hand, familiar, touched Kaede's warmly. A soft rustle of feathers resounded behind him, the ash-grey wing of Araena Serphine supporting him quietly. Without saying a word, the angel stepped to the front of the bench and sat down next to the captain. Her ember-like eyes sparkled slowly in the light.

"Hey... Kae, are you alright? I've been looking for you for the past hour, I didn't know where you went..." There it was again, the gentle squeeze of her hand upon his. Even though it had grown soft over the previous months since she had become an XO, the woman's engineering-based background still was prevalent.

"Yes sweeite, I just needed a place to think and smell the air." He rolled his head to look at her for a moment before leaning up to kiss her neck, "Thank you for coming to look for me. I have been thinking about something that is been affecting me probably a bit too much lately."

His eyes were honest, confident in something.

Pulling him into a hug, with the couple's cheeks against each other, Araena whispered into her partner's ear, "Well, it's good that you're relaxing again. You need it." She squeezed him lightly and gently, before letting him free and looking him in the eye once more. She asked, "What is it that troubles you?"

"A decision, one that I've made before, want to make again, but am worried about still." His left hand relaxed with its thumb in his left pants pocket while his continued to let his right be held.

"I've always wondered why they make these decks move with the seasons instead of just keeping them still. It doesn't get cold yet one day these decks will be covered in volumetric snow."

Araena laughed softly behind her lips, leaning against Kaede a little as he spoke. She squeezed his hand again as she said, "I imagine it's to help people cope with being out in space, more. Or maybe just someone decided to make it as a sort of practical joke, to see how far they could go with strange additions." Her silver locks swayed she her angelic face turned to face Kaede, delivering a partial smile.

Something was pinned to one of the Sakura trees across from the bench, looked like a piece of paper folded over itself with a shiny brass pin. Kaede squinted at it before asking out loud, "What is that?"

"Hmm?" The curtain of silver swished about as its owner pivoted her head, taking a moment to locate the object. "Looks like a paper? I'll go get it, maybe it's a note for somebody?" Squeezing Kaede's hand again, the woman sent herself to her feet, the softened bottoms of her shoes making almost no noise as one step after another led her to the paper; pulling the pin out with a single motion, the birb used her off hand to unfold it and glimpse upon the paper's contents.

The note simply said, "Turn Around. --K."

Araena chuckled, folding the note up again. "Kae, you're funny sometimes!" She stepped about, turning on the spot to face the man, gasping as the man was knelt down with a small black box in his hands containing a ring that looked to capture a small moon in its reflection. His eyes were locked with hers.

"Araena Serphine, will you take me hand and have us explore these stars together as man and wife?"

It seemed as if time had stopped for the two of them, the man and his angel, an eternity in moments passing as Araena's eyes shone with otherworldly light, a tear trickling down her soft cheek. Her lips stuttered for a moment, silently recieving signals they did not know; stepping forward, carefully, the woman finally smiled, kneeling down in front of Kaede beautifully before gently, sweetly delivering the words which he wanted to hear so badly; "Yes, Sutoikku Kaede, I will follow you until the end of time..."

The Taisa took her left hand and slid the ring onto her finger before closing the box, standing up, and cradling her in his arms before kissing her.

Sutoikku Araena hummed happily, warmly in this simulated autumn, her arms gently holding close to her betrothed. She broke the kiss for but a moment, only to let him know once more, "I love you..."

"I love you too." In the same moment, the KAMI added a note to itself. A note that simply stated that there might be two Sutoikkus on the roster.
