The Princess Dunes was located on top of the Ketsurui Resort Hotel. From this vantage point it provided a panoramic view of the resort, the shore and the ocean. It was two story building, with large windows facing in all directions. The first floor of the restaurant the public area, while the second floor was divided into areas for private affairs.

Sune stood by the wall of windows the glass had been retracted allowing the gentle warm sea breeze to come in. There was a balcony in front of him, where patrons could mingle and talk . He turned and looked back into the dining room. Along the wall opposite the double oak doors was the buffet area. It was all staged, the food would be brought in once his guests arrived. At the moment the lighting was high, it would be turned down to a slightly lower level for a more casual atmosphere.

Next to him by the window was the bar, the bartender, Abigail, was a blond haired Minkan female. She was making final adjustments to her 'domain' so that she could tend to his guests. He made sure to have it stocked with a wide range to accommodate the diverse tastes of the crew.

Located to the left of the entrance was a hibachi table where folks who wanted fresh grilled food could request it.

The main feature of the room was the mahogany table, with wood so naturally dark it appeared black unless you looked closely to it. It contrasted with the lighter wood paneled flooring. In the center of the table was a crystal centerpiece, of a Plumeria-Class in flight. Each of the place settings had two dishes stacked, they were decorated with the KRH logo. A dark red, very close to the Ketsurui Clan red napkin was carefully rolled up and held with a silver ring. On the left side of each setting were silver utensils, each consisted of a knife, fork, spoon, and a pair of chopstick. A tall glass of water completed the settings.

Opposite the bar there was a table with an Anaba Super Karaoke Machine, and another table with a collection of wrapped items.

He walked over to the bartender, "Pour me a glass of White Wolf Frost please." he asked.
Abigail smiled and opened the bottle with practiced ease. She poured the wine into a crystal fluted glass and offered it to him. "Here you Jalen-San. The room looks good, I hope your guests appreciate all the touches."

Sune smiled, "Thank you, I just want them to have a good time. If not for your people, I would have been at a loss for setting this up." he said taking the glass and returning to balcony.

Hanako came just a little bit early. Her iridescent teal hair was freshly styled and she was dressed in sheer black stockings and a small, simple strapless black dress that left her collar and flawless pale shoulders exposed in their soft, smooth glory. The only jewelry she was a gold charm bracelet with alternating Star Army gunships on it, which Sune had given her during a previous year-end celebration. Spotting Sune by the window, Hanako walked over to him and stood at his side. "It feels strange to be missing the weight of my pistol at my side. I have become so very accustomed to life in the uniform. It makes me feel naked more than this dress." Her golden eyes focused on Sune's face in the window reflection. "You have been at my side for most of my time on the Eucharis. With you gone I will feel the same way I do without my sidearm."

Sune heard Hanako's approach, the sound of her steps across the wooden floor. He knew that sound. He turned to face her; taking a moment to take in the view. As always Hanako was stunning, her outfit accentuating her natural beauty. He gave her a hug being careful to not spill some wine. "You look beautiful Hanako." he said giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"That is definitely a first, I do not believe I have ever seen you off ship without an NSP, although it would ruin the look of that dress. I understand how you feel. For six years of my life, I have worn the uniform of the Star Army. Most of what I was used to wearing, or having with me was connected to the service. Having to turn in everything from the military was like giving up a part of me. You being gone that is going to take some time to get used to."

"You are the one who is leaving the Eucharis," Hanako reminded him after returning the hug. "Although you will still work directly for the Empire, which is good. In Yamatai, our military and government jobs offer such stability that going fully civilian is a prospect that intimidates me a little. I could probably fall back on the chateau if I had to, making my living as a manager of the winery. When I spent time marooned on that forest planet, I learned a bit about farming to survive. It seems wasteful that I have a mansion on this planet but I rarely get to visit it. Even when I am on this planet, which is rarely, staying there usually means I would be away from the crew here in the hotel. Are you looking for a home? Maybe you could stay there. I could move my collection of military items to a museum and give you a wing."

"Yes, I know I am the one leaving, but that means not seeing and talking with you daily." He replied. to her first comment about the ship.

After letting her finish her statements, "That is a very generous offer. I appreciate the offer, I never saw myself living in a palace. However for the time being I plan on staying at the hotel. When I finally determine what I am going to do, and where I will be stationed. I will see about a more permanent residence. When I know more about my circumstances I will give you an answer then." he answered.

After all the excitement of the day, it was nice to put everything down and relax. Chieko made her way to the restaurant with her brushed back and held by a maroon hairband. Her dress was a sleeveless number of tan cotton that fitted comfortably at the chest, stayed decently close through the rest of the bodice, then flowed out some from above the hips with inch wide pleats, the bottom reaching just down past her knees. The scientist also wore flesh toned stockings and a two inch copper coloured sash around her waist with matching two inch heels.

She looked around the place wondering where the table would be until she caught Sune and Hanako in her sights. The academic paused, watching them interact, then felt it may be better for her to take some time at the far end of the bar first. The young Minkan hoped that it would give them time and also allow for others to show up so that she wouldn't feel too much like a third wheel. Chieko smiled at the bartender until he got close enough, then she ordered a mojito to pass her time.

Abigail watched as Chieko approached the bar. "Sure thing, honey. Good dress choice, cotton breathes nicely in the sea breeze." she said and started mixing the ingredients with practiced ease. With a flourish she put a slice of lime on the rim and a sprig of mint into the glass. She placed the drink on the bar in front of Chieko. "There you go. Let me know if its okay for you, that's a Mojito Royal, one of our specialties. It uses Champagne instead of soda."

Sune caught Chieko's entrance in his peripheral vision. He waited for her to get her drink before turning and speaking to her.

"Good evening, Koizumi-San thank you for coming." he said with a smile.

The Princess Dunes

The academic's eyes widened slightly at the mention of Champagne. It was not something she had her hands on very often, but it was never against her tastes. Chieko put the drink up to her nose first, the slight difference bringing a smirk to her face; then took her first sip, rolling it in her mouth a little before letting it trickle down - her smirk grew slightly.

"I think I may have found a new favourite," she complimented Abigail,

Chieko jumped a little when Sune had spoken to her, though she recovered quickly enough.

"Thank-you for inviting me Chusa," the scientist replied with a socially respectful bow, "This place is amazing - a great choice."

The Princess Dunes

"You are very welcome Koizumi-San. I have retired from the Star Army, so I am a civilian now. So please just call me Sune. As for choosing it, it just happens to be part of the result, when I got to my suite. I asked and found out about this place," he said in response to Chieko.

The Princess Dunes

"Aa, gomen ne, Sune-san," the young woman smiled and bowed with slightly embellished embarrassment, "I just realized, though: that's a cute name."

Chieko took another sip of her drink before returning to her usual confident smile. She most definitely was not trying to flirt at all; however her tone and body language could almost be misinterpreted as such. Then the academic's face became analytically curious, her head tilting slightly to the side, looking at Sune.

"I know I haven't had much time to get to know you," she began again, "but as someone who may not end up a lifer, I am curious as to what you are thinking of doing after this. We are capable of living such long lives these days, it's hard see the fun in not doing something with all those years ahead."

The Princess Dunes

"Excuse me for a moment," Hanako said to Sune, before heading over to the bartender. When Abigail was free, Hanako ordered a bottle of Hanako's Original Red to share and a glass to have it in. "I am Hanako. I am pleased to meet you. For a party so far it is very serious," she quietly commented to the woman. "As a captain I have to set an example, and for parties that means not being a downer. It is hard to get in the mood for fun when I have to say goodbye to someone who I care about. Hopefully the wine will help. If not, perhaps I will have to break out the Lorath vintages," she joked. Part of her was reminded of warm memories of living in the Empress' Palace. Another part of her wanted to be out somewhere hiking through a forest. Life was easier when one knew what to do, and although she could put on a brave face, the truth was that Hanako sometimes had to wing it. Tonight was one of those nights where she didn't have a plan.

Sune took another sip from his wine and walked over to the Anaba, he switched it on and selected some lively music to help change the mood.

Abigail smiled when she when Hanako approached. This was her first time meeting the legendary captain, but she would not result to gushing or fawning. She was a professional. "Certainly ma'am." she replied and reached under the bar she pulled out a chilled bottle of the requested vintage. She picked up a bottle opener and with a quick twist and pull opened the bottle. She picked up a glass and pour as small amount for Hanako to taste. She held the glass to her as she placed the bottle on the bar. "Here you go Hanako-Hime. I hope you find it satisfactory." she said with a smile, Sune-San did not tell me that we would be having a celebrity for this evening's party."

Between her new evening dress, jewelry, and the way that the staff of every establishment seemed to rush to her service, Sienna felt like she was gliding as the usher opened the door for her to the Princess Dunes restaurant. She could almost feel the light refracting and scattering off of her sparkling new earrings and necklace, mingling with the simultaneously self-conscious and excitedly proud aura that was no doubt radiating off of her. She was quite surprised at herself for not feeling at all ridiculous parading around in such an over-the-top display of decadent narcissism, in truth, and even further surprised that she was enjoying it as much as she was.

The various paintbrushes and pencils that the Yamataian women had applied to her face had been intrusive and uncomfortable, and several times she had very nearly punched one of them in the eye socket when they insistently ignored her repeated requests to back off just a bit. Aside from the constant prodding and pulling, she felt like she would look like a painted circus clown with the amount of various weird substances they constantly smeared on her eyelids, cheeks, and lips. The plucking of her eyebrows had very nearly sent her into a seething rage as well, as she was completely unprepared for the searing sting of having hairs pulled one at a time. But Natsumi had been there to reassure her that it would be worth it, and since she hadn't steered her wrong thus far, she had begrudgingly obliged. Of course, she had been correct. When Sienna caught the first glimpse of what they had done, she had almost cried with joy. She had never known her face could look like that.

Her skin was flawless and uniform, and they had brought to it a gentle, lovely glow. She couldn't tell at all that it felt like they were painting the areas around her eyes for what seemed like an eternity, she could only see the subtle effect of shadow around her eyes in just the right color to make her normally uninteresting greenish-brown eyes stand out like emeralds in gorgeous contrast to the reddish-pink of her dress, accented by the reflective silver of her necklace and earrings. Even her groomed and yet somehow still natural-looking eyebrows blended perfectly with the visage, a quiet signature to the work of art the makeup ladies had created. Her hair was teased and demurely streaked with a shade of blond that was only a few shades brighter than her natural auburn. In front, her bangs were combed across her forehead and gently cascaded from a part in the upper left of her forehead, circumventing her right eye and concealing the eyebrow above it, around to a point that bounced gently on the right side of her chin, creating a beautiful frame for her new face. In back its design was elegantly simple, leaving the nape of her neck and bare upper shoulders exposed.

However, just as before, she found herself awed once again by the overwhelming splendor of what this place had to offer, and what Sune had prepared. She barely had time to note who was present before the ice sculpture, the palatial size of the room and its rich furnishings, and panoramic view of the resort and its neighboring ocean through the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows stole the breath from her lungs.

Natsumi entered the Princess Dunes restaurant along side Sienna. She was more than pleased with how her friend had turned out, even if there had almost been physical violence when the work had started on Sienna's makeup. Natsumi had found it entertaining really, how the Nepleslian woman had reacted to all the work. She knew she was not used to having anyone go at her like that. The effort it had taken to keep Sianna from smashing fists into faces had all been worth it when it was all over though and Natsumi was sure at least a few people would not recognize the usually utilitarian clad woman at all.

Natsaumi was in her new blue dress. Her hair was done differently from how she normally kept it. While still worn long, her usually excessive bangs were parted and styled away from her eyes and her hair was layered and almost looked like flowing silver with how the light stuck it. Her makeup gave some definition to her features, but was kept simple.

She grinned as she took in the entire place. It was fancy, elaborate and all sorts of upscale. "Isn't this fantastic?" she asked Sienna as her red eyes were caught by the ice sculpture.

Hanako took a long look at Sienna before floating over to her. "Sienna!" she exclaimed, giving Sienna a hug and then fanning her bosom. "You look amazing! You really clean up so well! It makes me all emotional. You must feel the same way. It must be a shock, going from the domed city to this. Do not get overwhelmed! Can I get you a glass of wine?" Hanako asked, holding up the bottle, which had a little picture of Hanako holding a glass and bottle of red wine. " I have a winery and can share the fruits. Your fortune is great. Just remember, this is a start and while you are now receiving gifts, soon you will be on your way to great things that you will earn by your own labor. You have the brains, the drive, and the beauty. Think about it, and think about where you will want to go. But first, enjoy yourself tonight!"

Next, Hanako give Natsumi a great big smile. "Welcome! You look marvelous too! And thank you for taking care of Sienna."

Sienna swallowed as she nodded in response to Natsumi, making sure to keep her face turned away from the Neko for a few seconds while she blinked back the mist collecting in her eyes. It was all so incredible to her, and the excitement charging through her system was nearly enough to make her pass out. "It's..." she started to reply, but her voice simply stopped there. She had no words. No sassy observation, no glib quip, not even a simple statement to appropriately sum up how she was reacting to all of this. Her smile grew wider as she blinked once more, finally collecting herself enough to look back at Natsumi. "It's incredible," she finally agreed, barely above a whisper.

Her name being called out to her all of a sudden made her jump and whip her head towards the source. She spotted Hanako floating towards her in that ethereal Neko dance that she was still getting used to, though it took her a brief second to realize that was who was beneath the flirty dress the Shosho wore. Her eyebrows still raised in surprise, she tensed nearly to the point of rigor mortis at the unexpected hug, resisting the urge to pull back or push her off. It was thankfully brief, and Hanako released her before she could no longer conceal her discomfort.

She felt her cheeks grow hot at the Shosho's praise, however, and she smiled widely again. Having absolutely no idea how one was expected to receive compliments like those, let alone at a swanky shindig like this, she elected instead to simply nod in quiet, reserved gratitude, though the way she knew she had to be beaming would probably betray her demure charade. As the teal-haired admiral fawned over her, she felt her eyes mist up yet again, still barely able to believe she was actually standing there, at that moment in that place.

"Uh, sure, thanks," she replied to Hanako's offer of red wine, her accent sharply contrasting with the elegant veneer she was shrouded in. She couldn't remember if she'd ever tasted wine before, and if she had, it was likely nowhere near the caliber of what this apparent princess-turned-politician-turned-space captain -- and now evidently a vintner -- was offering. She wasn't sure what the rest of the admiral's spiel was getting at, but the last sentence rang out to her. At that moment, there was no yesterday, nor was there a tomorrow. She was living out a waking fantasy, and she didn't need Hanako to remind her to enjoy her hospitality to the fullest.

She smiled even more brightly back at the Shosho, then at Natsumi once again.

Sune stood by the music machine. It afforded him the opportunity to watch as Sienna made her entrance. Sienna in a dress was not something he had expected. He figured she would buy some clothes, but a dress with all the trimmings was a surprise. A moment later Natsumi made her entrance. 'I wonder if Natsumi intentionally let Sienna come in first, so she could get the full effect.' He thought.

He walked over and waited for Hanako to greet them.

Sune gave the ladies a slight bow, "Sienna, Natsumi-San, thank you for coming to my party. The two of you are positively stunning. The bar is open, Abigail can mix just about anything you could want; alcoholic or not. "

Mitsuko had been on her own private adventure before arriving here tonight. A long walk, lunch alone. A quick stop to pick up some real shoes - she didn't think sandals would be appropriate. It would have been particularly embarrassing to track in sand. The mousy Neko was still wearing the same long, blue skirt she'd changed into on the ship. She had on the new dress shoes, black flats, and a long-sleeved white blouse. It wasn't like she owned any makeup or jewelry, except for the bracelet Takeyu had given them, so she didn't have anything else to catch the eye. Her glasses had reappeared, though, keeping her oddly colored eyes from glowing and attracting any unwanted attention. Those eyes were wide behind the spectacles as she entered.

"W-wow..."

The hotel had already been extravagant enough, but this place was something else. Murakami began to feel rather out of place as she noticed several unfamiliar women in very fancy dresses. Sune was easier to recognize. Avoiding the group for now, not wanting to interrupt them, she walked further inside while trying not to stare at the table and other decorations. Everything seemed very expensive. She would just try to stay out of the way for now, and stay on alert for an opportunity to speak to Sune. She needed to thank him for setting all of this up and inviting her, after all. And apologize for not getting properly dressed up.

The comfort level seemed to have changed as Hanako went to order and Sune made his way to the Anaba. Chieko wondered what happened in that moment, but the only plausible conclusion that came quickly enough was a question asked too soon. She raised her eyebrows in a sort of facial shrug then took another sip of her drink before looking around again.

Seeing Sienna, then looking back at the Shosho caused the scientist to wonder if she may have been trying too hard to take it easy. Though two still allowed for some doubt, Natsumi's arrival seemed to put the final nail in that coffin - the woman regretted not choosing the other dress. She quickly shook her head and smiled at the two new arrivals - giving some time first before easing herself in.

"I most definitely concur with these appraisals," Chieko complimented, "I feel rather unarmed now."

Natsumi smiled broadly and bowed to Hanako and Sune. "Thank you" she replied "Sienna and I have been having a great time today." she grinned "I would not miss your party for the world" she said to Sune. The idea of visiting the bar sounded like a great idea, she would see about swinging by soon enough.

She smiled at Chieko as she came over, "Hi." she greeted, "I think you look lovely" she countered the scientist.

Natsumi took a deep breath and let it out slowly. This was all amazing, she thought. Everyone here, happy, having a good time!
