YSS Kaiyó, Wardroom

As the crew went on with what coud only be described as a game of messing with eachother's heads, one peculiar individual, sitting at a table further back, had been quietly observing the whole conversation. Fresh new recruit Abart'huse Theisilis glanced around the room, feeling a bit uneasy. While he was not a shy person at all, this completely new experience, as well as the history he could sense between some of these characters made him feel a bit left out.

At one point he caught the glance of the straight-faced Santô Jûni Akiko, looking her straight in the sharp observing eyes. While she kept her gaze as stoic as she possibly could, the way her eyes prodded at his visage for every last bit of information practically screamed the words "Your move...".

Straightning his back, he slowly got up from his seat, his body lifting up in one smooth motion as the top bit of his snake's tail peeked out above the table, where the rest of it was hiding underneath. The soft rustle of his big Pythus tail soon got blocked out by his somewhat deep, forced voice, blurting out slightly just to get this over with....

"S-Santou Heí Abart'huse Theisilis, pleased to make your aquaintance!"

A quick bow followed his hast introduction, lowering his head adorned with his roughly combed-back brown hair atop his lightly tan scalp, breifly concealing his bright green slitted eyes from sight. Looking back up, he quickly tried to think something up on the spot.

"As one of the new recruits, i'm looking forward to working with you all. If i'd have to tell anything about myself..... i'd say..... despite what one might think, i'm not a big fan of eggs......and uh........ my motherstillcallsmeherlittlebarry....." >~<

At a loss for words, he simply goes with the two random thoughts that popped in his head at the time. He hoped that the somewhat embarassing nature of one of his statements would throw his new companions off somehow....

Deio Asuka laughed out loud and grabbed her mouth in her hands and brought her face close to her knees as she tried to stifle laughter.

"The only question is," Reina Madoka chimed. "What kind of eggs do you like, Little Barry-Hei?"

"Ah, by the Empress I can't take this!" Asuka mumbled. "Not in the slightest! Little Barry?!" She held the bridge of her nose and looked up to the ceiling, trying to hold back tears of laughter.

Madoka smiled as she held her hands over her knees as she kept them close together and looked around the room, and then spoke, saying, "I am Itto Hei Reina Madoka, everyone! Let's see I have never been kissed and I enjoy a good book."

"I know this one!" Mat chirped from his place next to Nashira Meissa. "You enjoy reading!" He looked to Meissa then grew pale all over, realizing what he had said. In truth, he had walked in on something awhile ago, but he didn't know how to explain that away. He hoped Meissa didn't think he was the one doing the kissing.

"That should conclude our little game today." Eden stood and spoke some more, "I hope it was fun for all of you! Now, I would like to remind you all that we are all headed back to Yamatai to hand off the tech we gathered from Komorebi! Our technician has done a great job of discerning more about the power armor that were found in the shuttle we picked up and Yamatai will be able to use this tech to know our enemy inside and out. I want all of you to enjoy the time we have left on the Kaiyō before we get there. It shouldn't be much longer until we make it back there. Then we will have shore leave for a few weeks, at which time you are invited to Saki's and my wedding. That is all, Kaiyō!"

Eden went to the buffet area where the cooks were bringing out the trays of fried noodles, meat, and veggies all mixed together with a sweet, yet savory sauce adorning them. She picked up a plate, gathered a large amount of food onto it and brought it to Saki with a smile, setting it down in front of the XO, then went back to the buffet area for her own plate, which by this time had a line of a few infantry girls and the pilot standing at it.

It took all of Meissa's willpower to not spit the last sip of her water across the table...and also all over Mat's hair. It took just about as much to forcefully swallow the bitter taste. About as bitter as her current disposition towards the tense atmosphere once the SAINT made herself known, like the air between predators. Or martial artists. Lots of things you could apply outside of the ring, that you learned inside.

That is, until the new Separah'shan made himself known as well.

That was how you made one hell of an impression. Meissa doubted anyone was going to forget that for a while.

A worthwhile distraction, Meissa decided. A good hammer. The new queen of black ice on the block caused her impact. But, at least, if it didn't soften her up, it would soften everyone else up.

She began to have a slightly deeper loathing for the SAINT. It wasn't like Meissa would do anything to Akiko, or that she expected Akiko to harm her; the notion itself was stupid. Meissa had made a few too many friends, especially one with a Juni as well as a good few of the grunts. But Meissa could tell the power of conversation killing by the ones who carried themselves in such a manner followed her to Yamatai.

Mat interrupted that train of thought. Thank the powers of existence for that. She leaned down towards him and patted him a few times.

"You dork." she whispered. Her voice carried a little sense of kindness to it. "I'm not stupid enough to think like that."

The tall snakeman almost jerked up in surprise, not expecting his his poorly constructed lie to have been broken though in an instant. With a not-so convincing pokerface, he simply grumbled in response to Reina's question...

"Soft-boiled....Plain...." -//~//-

Despite his efforts to suppress his embarassment, the tip of his long, girthy tail wiggled about anxiously, possibly alerting anyone wo might accidentally be touched by it. He sat back down, lowering his head from the height of 6'3" at which he would normally stand, a large posture quite unfitting for a nickname like "Little Barry", making it all the more hilarious. At least he managed to break the ice somehow.....

Riku smiled as he stood up to join the rest of the girls on the line, picking up a plate as he patiently waited for his turn at perusing and stuffing the poor piece of ceramic with ungodly amounts of food piled on top. He wasn't exactly hungry but it would have been rude for him to simply walk out and not get to know the crew a bit more after all the effort the Taii had gone through arranging all of this. Perhaps he should make that lie a truth now - there was certainly plenty to bring home right in front of him, after all. He smiled wistfully as he thought about returning home to visit the graves of his family with a family of his own. An occasion like this wasn't his norm, but playing the little game the Taii thought up helped break down a few barriers as he leaned over and introduced himself to one of the infantry girls ....

A blonde, green-plated Minkan leaning against the back wall of the room appeared to wake up from whatever trance he was in and glance around a little, confused. As if all of what had occurred since they started the game had been on some sort of delay timer, his puzzled expression changed to one of amusement. Mochi had a lot on his mind recently, it seemed that he'd just zoned out inside his own head through the entire session. As everyone grabbed a plate of food, he wondered if people would get the wrong idea from his non-participation.. "Well it's your own bloody fault." the scientist muttered under his breath, weaving through the crewmembers while heaping two plates with generous portions of delicious-smelling morsels. Once clear of the crowd, Mochi made his way back towards the smol candyfloss-winged Elysian he was with, offering a filled plate with a cheeky smile before leaning back with his warm side touching hers.

Anastasia nodded politely at William's answer, sitting back down in her seat. "Correct..."
It entered her mind then that she'd freaked out and told two lies. At least her position was a definite truth.
She was distracted from inner turmoil by the introduction of the new, slithery comrade. She'd never met a Separa'Shan before. Maybe she should make a friend after the meeting...

Anastasia then tuned back in to the Taii's announcements, curiously. She wondered what she should do on shore leave, pondering the potential while getting in line for lunch.

Sutahira pushed himself off of the wall and approached the buffet, picking up a plate. He scooped heaps of food slathered with the sauce that the Captain had used. With the majority of his plate filled with meat, followed by noodles and a small portion of vegetables, Sutahira found a free table and sat, immediately digging in. He shoved a piece of meat in his mouth and began thinking back to when his mother was so traumatized by his father's death that Sutahira had to cook for her. He eventually stopped eating and began zoning out, the separate conversations becoming jumbled in background noise. His food hung on his fork, his mouth partially open as he was plunged into thought. He thought about what he would do while shore leave, and wondered how his mother was doing. He would find out soon once they reached Yamatai.

Well look at Seino being a goof, getting some food for her! The little Shan couldn't help but giggle in the silliest of mannerisms as she slid the plate out of the scientist's hands, using him as a physical support to prop her up as she made a triangle with Mochi, herself, and the floor. Being light had its advantages, as the slightly-cooked nerd wouldn't even need to try to compensate for her.

"You know I could have gotten this myself, too," she joked between mouthfuls.

Mochi shot the smol a cheesy wink, finishing a mouthful of delicious fewd as he did so. She was light as anything, a comforting presence pressing against him. "I know, I just thought it'd be a nice thing to.. do." he smiled, gazing down into her sapphire-and-jade eyes with obvious affection. Feeling the warmth of her wings against his back spread into him, the blonde closed his eyes and felt a calmness he hadn't in a long time. Seinosuke realised how content he was in that moment, a silly smile spreading across his face as they stood there like a couple of lemons.

Meissa couldn't help but tap both of them on the heads a few times as she walked past to grab herself, and maybe Mat, some food.

"Hey, Kaiyo to love birds. Kaiyo to love birds. You're drifting off too far towards Iroma space." she teased.

Saki looked up, returning Eden's smile before looking at the food brought to her. She decided to wait on Eden to return to start eating. Her mind drifted to the wedding, on what to wear and what to design. she idly brought a finger to twirl and wrap a lock of chocolate colored hair as she waited for Eden to return.
