Arinori Sora, the starship's resident Patrician, sighed to herself as she sank a little more into the steaming, relaxing water of the onsen. She had been through a lot for the past few days, after the disasterous teleportation away from the station had happened, which had resulted in the death of one of her squadmates. She sighed again as her body sank a few more centimeters, letting the water gently lap around her covered, slender form.

Mikodimus had just finished up cleaning the kitchen. It was recommended to him to go hit the showers and relax some. Since the mission, his mood had been somewhat foul as the news was sinking in that Hanna was lost during the mission. He slowly walked into the area with the onsen, looking forward to a nice dip. As he walked up to it he noitced someone else was already there. Given one would find it hard to miss a pair of wings sticking out of the water. "Hello there, mind if I join you." He said in a low voice.

"Hmm?" There was a light splash as the elysian started, having not actually heard Miko come in. "Yeah, go ahead... Mikodimus, was it?" The Patrician shook herself a little, shifting more to the side in the somewhat spacious pool, her practically wall of plumage idly hung behind her still. There was only one birb on the whole ship that carried a hue like that, such a deep purple.

Miko managed to put on a smile as he sat on the side and flipped his feet over and into the onsen. "The one and only, believe this is the first time we have got to talk in private." He said as his eyes looked away from her. "You are Sora right? Not as if I could confuse you with anyone else given that your purple wings stand out." He said with a light chuckle.

"Yeah, that's me." She chuckled as he splashed his way into the bath, looking over at him as he slid into the water, the effort he had to avoid her with his eyes pretty obvious. "Oh, don't worry about me. I'm covered, Miko..." She took a deep breath, letting out another sigh again. "You are a... Well, you're supposed to be a chef, right?"

Miko looked back over at her. "No supposed about it, been making sure the crew is fed for weeks and weeks now." He said as he slipped down into the water. "And the looking away wasn't cause I thought you was naked. I read the report and know what happened. It is still sinking in for me but I been meaning to find and thank you." He slid even further into the water, now only his head was sticking up above the water.

"Thank me?" The woman floated up a bit, her already light body inflating with a breath to poke abover the surface for a moment before sinking down again. "What for?" Her head turned, those strange, reddish-purple eyes perusing the Belmont curiously.

"For all your hard work during the mission. SOFT does not have it easy and we lost a few this time." He pushed himself back up out of the water and put his arms accross the top of the bath. "One of which, I was enjoying her company even." His words trailed off.

"Hmm... Sorry bout Hanna, though. I tried to get her out in a... Less chaotic way, but apparently my teleport denial was denied." Sora's face turned upward again, and slowly she relaxed more, her great wings slipping into the water silently. But hey, we sure as hell made sure they felt it too. I doubt that station was cheap."

A slight smile crossed his face. "Aye, we at least returned the favor many times over. But thanks again for your effort. Its nice knowing we have such an amazing team on this ship." He decided to move a little closer to her. "You ever need anything, feel free to give me a shout. Even if it is just to have someone listen I will be sure to fill the role."

"That's good to know, thank you..." The woman's voice faded into silence.

"You know, I have been meaning to ask. How come your wings seem bigger than others on board.?" He asked in a curious voice.

"Hm? Oh, it's because we're not actually the uh, same species." Her voice floated about the steamy air cooly. "While we're all elysians, most of the ones are board are Say.. Caeli.... Caelisolans? Caelisolans. And I'm called an uh, Patrician." The angel fumbled over her words a little bit.

"Ah, that would explain it then. I am not real up to date on Elysians too much so was curious why your wings seemed so beautiful." As the words rolled off his tongue he realized what he just said and just slipped down into the water, blushing a little.

Arinori chuckled a little at the compliment, "Well, thank you for that, Miko. May I call you Miko, or do you prefer Mikodimus?" She took another deep breath, but spared the two of them a sigh, instead exhaling normally.

"That is fine by me." He mood had lightended as it had been since before the mission he has this relaxing of a talk with someone. "So, do you go by Sora, Arinori...Ari?" He asked as he tipped his head to one side.

There was a warm chuckle as her warmed eyes stared into Miko's own. "Well, Sora is my given name, but Ari... Well, it's certainly a name I haven't heard before, that's for sure." She breathed evenly, her lengthy and yet surprisingly modest body bobbing up and down in the water.

"Sora it is then." He said with a grin. "Thanks for talking with me, this has been nice. I just been hanging out in the kitchen all this time so a change of location is good. Company makes it even better." He said in a calm voice. His eyes took notice of her body bobbing in the water.

"Mhm! It's going to be nice, being able to relax for a while." Her head listed over to Miko. "Especially together. We as the crew have each other and our ship, and we need to keep ourselves happy together. I've been just enjoying being near Seinosuke and Arbitrated, that married elysian couple. I don't know what does it, really!"

"That is so nice to hear. Everyone I meet on this ship is so nice and friendly. Its hard to stay upset when there is so much positive energy around." He said perking up a little. "So you ever get a little jealous of married couples." He asked inching closer to her as he was really engaged to talk with her.

"Hm?" Sora thought for a moment idly, before responding, "Not really, no. They enjoy each other, there's no need to try and interfere. That's what I think, anyways!" She smiled a little, "Are you thinking about marriage or somthing, Miko?"

"I would be lying if I said the thought had not crossed my mind. Its more that I envy the connection they have. Its something truely amazing." He said with a light chuckle. "Then again something as simple as how your body floats on water amazing me also." He laid his legs out in front of him and tried to get them to float.

Sora laughed again, the steamy water having washed away most of her stress for the time being. "It does help that I weigh almost nothing for my size. Hollow bones and all that," she stated matter-of-factly. Her body rose up again as if to tease the man, bobbing t the surface for a few seconds before submerging secretively.

"I will admit the Elysians amaze me to no end. While I can float around, they can fly around and that is just awesome. Guess things that are different just interest me. So I guess since you are a, believe you said Patrician perks my interest even more." His eyes had lit up like a kids that just got candy.

Laughing quietly, she responded, "Well, I don't really know all too much about what makes me really different from the other Elysians, other than I'm a little bigger and stronger. I was raised on Yamatai for all my life, by Yamataians."

Miko rubbed his chin for a moment. "Make a good point there. Still, maybe biased here but I think you have a very pretty set of wings." A second later a look of curious crossed his face. "Would it be weird if I asked to touch them?"

She laughed pleasantly, saying, "no, no... because you're not an Elysian. If you were, then yes it would be a little bit awkward."

"So um...can I touch one of them then?" He said eyes wide as saucers. He out reached his hands towards the closest wing but stopping just short waiting for a reply.

"Erm, ah... please don't, Miko. They're, how do I put this..." The female thought silently for a moment, her body stationary in the water. "They're... sensitive, to touching. Much like a woman's chest."

Miko froze like a deer in head lights. "Um...what." He asked blinking at her a few times. A few more moments went by as this sunk in. "Oh...OH MY...like I didn't know." He quickly pulled his hand back. "My mistake for being so forward, my gosh, feel silly asking to touch." He does a very nervous laugh.

Despite her patner's nervousness, Sora laughed lightly again. "It's fine, Miko! There's no way you could have known without asking, right? There's no harm in it." With a light fwloosh of the water, Ari turned onto her side, those large violet wings behind her relative to Miko. Her bikini top seemed to blend in with the steamy air, its white coloraction contrasting with the birb's nighttime-black hair.

"I guess you are right, but this stays between us. There are some that would have far too much fun with this." He said lightly having calmed down. "First time together and ask to grope...smooth there Miko." He said laughing outloud as he made a joke about himself.

Sora laughed again, the angel's voice gracing Mikodimus's ears. She took a deep breath, staring the Belmont man into the eye softly. "Can't blame yourself for what didn't happen, eh?" One eye flickered into a wink, playfully teasing the man.

"True true, though in my defense I wasn't trying." As he gave her a wink and pointed down towards his leg. When she turned the wing had caught his leg. "So when feet touch we call it footies...so what would this be?" He asked in a playful voice.

She chuckled, having not really noticed the touch herself due to the massive amount of water she was already relocating. Sora blushed as she responded, "I can't really say," she stated, "maybe wingsies?" Her face seemed to glow a little, letting her troubles be washed away by this, childlike silliness.

Miko let out a big laugh. "I like it, people will totally not get it at all." He moved his leg off her wing and let it float across the water. "So tell me, what made you decide to join the service?" He asked as he left himself go from the side and started to float around.

"Honestly, it was the chance to get out of the house for once. I'dbeen homeschooled for much of my life, and kinda left aside when I was in the actual workforce. Being in the military seemed to be an interesting alternative. What about you?" Her burning amethyst eyes followed Mikodimus as he floated on the surface lof the water ike a cork.

"I too was looking to get out of my own little world. Things back home just no longer seemed go to me so wanted to join to see the stars." He said while his gazed looked off into the distance. "Seems you have had much action being on the SOFT team so doubt you will live a boring life anymore." He turned slightly and looked her way, his blue eyes sparkled from the overhead light.

She chuckled as her eyes, glowing like candles trapped in a geode, locked with his. "That's true, for sure. This ship has been anything but boring!" She blinked slowly, before setting herself free from the edge of the onsen and floating out into the water.

"And while I do enjoy a good fight. It is moments like this that just feels right." He said with a smile. "Its not every day I get to hang out with an angel in an onsen." As he finished his words he bumped into Sora.

The angel chuckled, her body sinking to the bottom of the shallow pool for a moment playfully. "That is true, Miko. Oh so true!" As if to get revenge, Mikodimus felt a poke on his shoulder by the woman, causing her to float away from him teasingly again.

Miko rolled himself over and put his hands next to his head with his pointer fingers pointing up. "If Sora is the angel, guess that means I will play the roll of the evil one." He said with a snicker as he slowly floated towards her, acting like a shark.

She chuckled as the man teased her, her voice calling out with mock terror, "Oh no, whatever shall I do?"

He spoke not a word as he drifted towards her, full smile on his face. He gently booped against her head with a nudge. "For a member of the SOFT team, I am pleasently suprised how easy it is to open up with you." He said in a calm voice.

She giggled a little, the two bodies bobbing in relaxation together. "We're not all that scary, heheh! I'd say the being scary part belongs to SAINT instead." The Elysian fiddled for a moment with her hair, pulling out the tie at the base of her ponytail to allow the black strands to float freely around her. Her eyes closed for a time, the angel simply enjoying some company who she could actually talk to.

Miko watched as her black hair flared out and trailed behind her. "Sounds good to me, be a shame for someone like you to go all scary." His words tapered off as he without thinking reached out and ran his fingers through the floating hair. "Gosh, think this is the first time I seen your hair down." He paused and an idea crossed his mind. He spun himself around and let his white hair mingle with hers. "Look, we can be yin and yang with our hair." He commented.

The Elysian woman laughed as Miko talked about the harmony between the two people's hairs, the white and black strands mingling curiously and mesmerizingly in the soft, steamy liquid. Her playful voice carried about for a while, the dorks in the bath that they were. "That we can be, heheh!" She joked.

"Sweet, came here to relax and found my gaurdian angel." He said as his cheeks turned a little more red. "I am glad Hoshi recomended to me to come here to relax. Though, wonder if she knew you was here." He said outloud in a curious voice.

"That I can't say, heheh. I know a few people joke about how Teien Eden would have arranged a meeting like this, but I actually don't know about Hoshi..." Arinori folded her hands together behind her head, her arms spread to the side as she floated about next to Miko. Chuckling, she finished, "Though, if this was arranged, there's probably bets on us kissing or something."

"That is not to say Eden did not play a role in this." He said while he rubbed his chin. "And while it didn't happen I without knowing tried to skip first base by asking to feel your wings. Take that our plotting officers." He said with a laugh.

Laughing with him, Sora took hold of Miko's hand and held it gently. "Again, it's fine, Miko, heh! And yeah, she might have dropped the idea to Hoshi."

At first Miko was completely shocked and his hand just laid limp in hers. His heart skipped a beat as his hand wrap around hers. "Yeah, this is fine." He said in a nerdy, high pitched voice.

Sora couldn't help herself, causing a splash as she started to laugh uncontrollably, the tether between herself and Miko snaking around a bit wildly as her tall body flailed for a few moments. Gasping for air, she tried her best to calm down again, sitting her rump directly onto the floor of the onsen with a twinge of red to her cheeks as she faced Miko. "Ah, Miko, heheh, you're funny y'know that? I didn't expect your voice to get that high!"

"Should come by the kitchen after hours. Best set of vocals this side of the universe!" He was trying to look serious and manly, but failing something aweful at this as he could not stop from having giggles. He did take this opportunity though to wrap his arm around hers and bumped his hips against hers in a playful fasion.

Sora giggled again as Mikodimus bumped into her playfully, her light body bobbing on the waves he had made on his way over. "Well, I'll be sure to come on in, then! Who knows, maybe I'll help ya cook."

"I would like that very much, maybe you can share one of your favorate dishes you like." He said grinning ear to ear. He then paused and looked her over. "Though, Sora in an apron would be very yummy too." He said in a flirty voice as he wiggled his eye brows at her.

"O-oh, uh..." She chuckled again. "Well, I guess we'll find out, eh? I'm sure we could whip up a little somthin' together!"

"Team work makes the dream work." He said as he lifted their hands into the air. While doing so it pulled them very close together. Her height gave her no advantage in the water as they moved to within inches of each others faces. Miko turned three shades of red, one of which matched her eyes. "Oh my..." Slipped off his lips as he looked at her inviting lips.

The archangel yelped playfully as she was turned to her side, her heared face so close to his. Smiling, her cheeks started to match up with his own, and the steamy water seemed to settle around the pair gently. Her hand squeezed his tightly, and yet she said nothing.

Ok, be cool Miko thought to himself as time seemed to stop. Thinking fast he tipped his head up and kissed her on the nose. He leaned back and put a little space between them. He was letting his touch do the talking.

Sora giggled as Mikodimus booped her nose with his lips, leveling out to once again float on her back, the meeting hands tethering the two nerds together. A short series of beeps suddenly resounded through the chamber, startling the angel a bit as she let go of his hand. "Thank you, MEGAMI!" She responded clearly, appreciating the AI for setting the timer as she requested. Turning to Miko, Sora spoke again, "Ah, it's time for me to get out and clean up. Sorry for kind of, ah, cutting this short. Perhaps we can meet again later?" She smiled at him playfully and sweetly as her towering form stepped out from the Onsen, picking up a towel to dry off before returning to the much more utilitarian areas of the Kaiyo II, disappearing with a wave.

As Sora stepped out of the onsen and reached for a towel Miko had moved to the side of the onsen closest to her. A moment later she might of felt a small tug on her wing, like a small child pulling at the pant leg of a mother. Before she left he gave her some parting words. "I'd like that, lets make a date of it." He said with a smile. "And thank you again for working to save one of the crew, it has not gone unnoticed." His eyes were soft as they looked at her with admiration.
