YSS Kaiyō II
Ready Room

Hoshi had something to do with everything on the ship in preparation for their next mission after coming back from the other universes. Finally home in the Kikyō Sector, she acted much differently towards close ones like Asuka and Muyomi, to whom she had grown more than attached to in the recent months away from home. But, now, back at the first fleet's base, she was feeling like her old self, before others had pinned her down.

Now, she was at her desk in her ready room going over logistics before Mitsuko took over the task for her.

The trademark clanking sound of Chlorate could be heard as she tried to locate Hoshi. She still wasn't sure where she'd be at the moment, so she checked the outside of the ready room.

When Chlorate did this, Boss alerted Hoshi of her presence and the captain said, "Come in," as the door to her ready room slid open.

Chlorate nervously stepped in and looked at Hoshi. "Hello..." she said, sounding kind of oddly.

"Oh, hi, Chlorate-san," Hoshi said, putting down her hands off of her desk as she closed the logistics attachment mail in her digital mind's HUD and stood, striding slowly with her five foot frame towards Chlorate. The door closed behind Chlorate while Hoshi paused where a tropical lion fish from Hanako's World hung suspended in a bulbous tank and looked at it before turning to Chlorate.

"Do you ever feel—" Hoshi began, then shook her blue and white haired head. "Nevermind, I didn't expect you."

"Were you expecting someone else?" Chlorate asked, curiously.

"I wasn't expecting anyone," Hoshi said, "I was just excited to see you..." She looked to Chlorate with a renewed smile, "What was being at weapons ops like for you?"

"It was..." Chlorate thought of how she would describe the feeling. "Exciting? I do not know if that is the correct feeling. It seemed to be easy to calculate each shot."

"You were very good at it," Hoshi agreed. "I would like you to consider sitting in the weapons operator's chair for one more mission, with heavy guidance this time from a veteran."

"I would like to do that," Chlorate said. "What is the name of the veteran?" Chlorate held back a blush when she was complimented.

"Ittoô Heisho Iemochi Arbitrated," Taiyou Hoshi said. "Someone of exceptional skill that served on the first YSS Kaiyō."

"Oh I remember her! Is she not the abnormally small Elysian?" Chlorate asked.

"The," Hoshi put her hand up to reference the scale between herself and Arbletrated, "small one? Yes."

"I see, I did not know she was the weapons operator," Chlorate said,

"Yes," Hoshi said, nodding and looking back to the fish. "Would you like to fill that role? I guess that question is rhetorical next to the question of if you can."

"Yes, I would," Chlorate responded. She looked like she was thinking about something though- She wasn't sure how she was going to ask Hoshi out, even if Mark had showed her what asking someone out typically means via Geist.

Hoshi wondered as she looked at watery creature, "Is there anything you have learned about your past, before you were a drone?"

"Well..." the robot began, "I already knew most of my past, so I am not sure that learned would be the correct term, though there was one instance on Ayenee..." she commented. "Some kind of... anomaly was causing me and a group that was with my father to watch memories we had already experienced again, and I did notice a word in mine that would be... unusual..."

"Fa-father?" Hoshi asked of Chlorate. "Mark-hei?"

"Affirmative," she said, "Mark-hei is now my father."

Hoshi mused on this a moment and nodded, "That is for the good of everyone. Do you have any other experiences to tell me or questions for me?"

"Yes, the word I saw in my memory about when I acquired the FA4-A drone seems to coincide with the last name of a crew member on this ship," she stated.

"Whose name is that?" Hoshi asked inquisitively.

"Leka," Chlorate replied.

"I understand. What would you like to do?" Hoshi asked of Chlorate.

"I am not sure," said the robot.

"We will figure it out in time, together," Hoshi said, putting a hand around Chlorate's own.

Chlorate looked at her pink hand holding hers and gave a beep in surprise. She immediately blushed a black oil blush and looked at Hoshi.

With a squeeze of her hand around Chlorate's, Hoshi looked at the charcoal blush and smiled, saying, "That is very endearing..."

Chlorate looked around. "What is endearing? Did I do something wrong?" she asked worriedly.

"Endearing is something you do to people when they like you," Hoshi told her.

"Oh... I see..." Chlorate said nervously.

"Yes," Hoshi said with a squeeze of her hand around Chlorate's. "Thank you for understanding. I'm not the only person that finds you endearing. You are much loved by the crew, you know."

"I do not know that that is true..." Chlorate said quietly.

"Now you do," Hoshi told her.

"But... Walter Hyde..." she muttered quietly again.

Hoshi was taken aback and her pink face looked distraught. One amongst many. And, besides, some people are just not at the stage of adoring you for who you are, but they will be, Chlorate. It's hard not to."

"I have not found anyone yet who do, with the exception of father," she said.

"You already have, in some ways," Hoshi said, letting go of Chlorate's hand.

"I do not understand...?" Chlorate said, tilting her head, now confused.

"Maybe you will one day," Hoshi said, stepping away and looking grim. She looked to the door and then her desk, and then spoke. "I will be happy to set up someone to oversee your work on the next mission and, hopefully, you will enlist soon thereafter."

"Yes..." Chlorate said. She was silent for a minute before she nervously spoke up. "Although... there was... one more thing I wanted to ask..."

Hoshi stayed quiet to let Chlorate speak.

"Well... I was... w-wondering..." she said trying to think of what to say next, "W-would you want to do the a-action of going out with me?" she asked very nervously.

Looking to Chlorate, her head cocked to one side and her blue and white hair fell low, below her waist, as Hoshi spoke.

"I would be honored, Chlorate."

"A... Affirmative..." Chlorate said.

"Wonderful," Hoshi said, giving Chlorate a hug with her sall, warm body.

Chlorate hugged Hoshi back with her body that was almost a foot taller and colder, without any heating aside from a very miniscule amount of heat given off by her electronics, nowhere near enough to affect the cold metal beneath her plastic plates.

Hoshi lifted up an arm after she had let go of Chlorate and said, "I have goose bumps," showing her pin-pricked flesh on her forearm.

Chlorate looked at her arm and said "I see bumps, but I do not see geese?"

Hoshi gave a soft laugh, "We will go out, Chlorate. It will likely be a fun time, too. I look forwad to it," she looked back at her arm, "obviously."

"Yay," Chlorate stated. She didn't cheer it, she just said yay, although it was clear she sincerely meant it. "I am... excited," she said.

Hoshi leaned forward as her arm went down and she gave Chlorate's skin exterior a soft and gentle peck on the cheek.

Chlorate's face, by contrast, wasn't cold, since it still had skin. The blush on her cheeks seemed to glow even brighter (or darker, technically, since it was oil) as she let out a quiet beep.

Hoshi moved away from Chlorate's face, then turned away and took a step from the AI.

Chlorate looked around, she'd probably be sweating right now if she had sweat glands, but she was still a robot. She looked at Hoshi's lion fish swimming around in the tank.

The little captain said as she took a step back, "Chlorate, I'll be seeing you. Tomorrow night at 1800 hours?"

"Affirmative!" Chlorate said enthusiastically, trying to erase any note of nervousness.

"I'll see you then," Hoshi said with an air of finality.
