Proposal #110

Purpose:

1. To promote relationships amongst the population of the Yamatai Star Empire.
2. For economic benefit, specifically in regards to florists, chocolatiers, candy makers, and textiles.
3. To create a new, romantic, holiday

Proposal:

1. February 14 is designated a national holiday known as "Love Day," which is a personal celebration of love that all citizens are encouraged to participate in.
2. The customs of Love Day are as follows:
  • In general, proclaiming and showing love to other people
  • Bestowing one or more more gifts, such as sweets, chocolates, roses, stuffed animals, bedding, and lingerie to a person whom one has developed or maintains a romantic attraction for
  • Making love as much as possible.
  • Take time to consider moving to the "next step" of a relationship (marriage proposals, having a child, acquiring a home, et cetera), if applicable.
3. The YSE Government will establish a "matchmaking" service that single people can use at their leisure to find a partner for them. This service will be available year-round. These people can safely date each other using the VCE service if desired.
4. The YSE Government will take measures to expand the sites available for VCE access.
 
The projection of Ketsurui Kotori, Senator of the similarily named Planet Kotori, blinked at the proposal in incredulity.

"Didn't we have a discussion about this awhile back? I suppose this is for formalizing the proceedings and coming to a vote."

She took another look at the proposal and then gave a wry shrug, finally voting: "The Kotori system votes in favor of the proposal."
 
Senator Gunther's image from Daichi appeared. He reviewed the proposal and wondered about impact on businesses. Seeing no real issues. "The Daichi System votes in favor of the proposal."

Since he had no other job and nothing better to do, Koji Jushimoto and his enormous were actually in the senate hall with all those volumetric projections. The old man bundled up thickly in his hanten until it came time for him to say, "The Koukotsu System votes in favor of this proposal, and humbly requests a VCE date with the Empress herself."

This was followed by a self-satisfied chuckle which is best captured in text by writing, "Ho ho ho.~"
 
"This proposal looks like it has good support. I motion to end voting early," Hanako suggested.
 
"Well, Love Day is just tomorrow so I'd like to go home and launder my best kimono for my date with Her Majesty~" Jushimoto said with a cackle, the back of his hand covering his almost-coughing chuckles, "So I'll second that motion."
 
This proposal passes! Happy love day!
