The Gunman
New Belfast

New Belfast, a small frozen ball out on the ass end of the Freebeer system. Many would claim that settling on New Belfast is an insane idea based on the fact of constant snowstorms and the high criminal population that plagues the planet. But still, many have began to flock there after the discovery that this frozen hell is rich in natural resources. Not only that, but its close proximity with the asteroid belt makes New Belfast a popular destination for those who wish to take part in this "gold rush" and for those with a not so pure intent.

Because of this, the need for Private Military Corporations (PMC) has increased dramatically. From companies looking for protection of there assets, to pirates looking for help in raiding these resources, to the Government of New Belfast seeking people to help keep the peace. New PMCs have been popping up all over the surface of New Belfast. One such PMC has just made planet fall.

IceFall: 1800 hours

The Capital of New Belfast is quite the site for newcomers. Only a few spires rise out from the ice and snow, but as the shuttle lands in the underground spaceport then they are struck with the gravity of how large it actually is. The cities are mostly underground except for the wealthier districts, where their massive spires penetrate the massive dome above the citizens heads and sores into the cold New Belfast sky. But for most of the residents of New Belfast, they very rarely see the sky above. Only those adventurous enough to risk it all feel that freedom.

Cyrus Marshal walked through the bustling streets of IceFall towards his favorite watering hole. His watering hole. The large modular buildings that lined the streets were constructed hastily as the influx of miners and guns for hire quickly began to outpace the already meager accommodations. Because of this, these "tenements" are tightly spaced and stacked on top of each other. Cyrus took note of the people he passed as he walked. The amount of 'undesirables' had increased in recent months so Cyrus walked with his two revolvers in their holsters, in plane sight. He finally arrived at his bar: The Hollow Point Pub.

He was greeted first by his bouncer who tipped his cap towards Cyrus. "Evening sir." Called the behemoth. "Evening Jackson." Cyrus stopped and turned towards the half ID-SOL man. "I have some special guests coming today. When you see them, direct them to the VIP section. Understood?" Cyrus asked. "Understood sir. Jackson replied standing a little straighter.

As Cyrus walked in, he was greeted with a cheer as his normal patrons noticed his entrance. "Finally the owner of this hole gets here." called one of the patrons. "My beer tastes like piss!"

"I am so sorry." Cyrus said dripping with sarcasm. "Hand me your mug and I will get ya a fresh one!" He said pointing to the restroom. He walked by the bar saying hello to everyone as he made his way up to the VIP section. The VIP section was well furnished, overlooking the normal part of the bar. Very few ever saw this part of the bar except for close friends, clients, and those who are willing to pay through the nose to drink up there. Today, Cyrus closed it to everyone except his special guests. He looked at the clock on the wall. "They should be arriving any minute now..." he thought as he walked up to the bar and grabbed himself a beer. He sat down at the bar and waited for his guests to arrive.

Icefall: 1800 Hour

Rosemary felt the frigid air pelt her constantly as she walked briskly down the streets of Icefall covered in her favorite maroon trench coat. She made every attempt to avoid eye contact with the denizens that roamed the streets going on about their business as Rose was not in the mood for any sort of confrontation be it a junk salesman or a mugger. She knew the quality of the people who lived on this ice planet had degraded and took precautions, having hidden her Paragon Infantry Pistol and knife under her coat in a holster and would not hesitate to punch holes into the flesh of anyone idiotic enough.

After a period of walking in the forsaken cold Rose had reached the location of meeting place, a bar named The Hollow Point Pub. The name seemed welcoming, to say the least. Rose approached the large bouncer who stood near the entrance of the bar and began to speak.

"I was invited here. A man named Cyrus Marshal for a possible position." Rosemary stood relatively small in front of the half ID-SOL giant. Subsequently after speaking, Rose would be pointed to the VIP section of the bar to meet the man who would presumably be her employer in Ragnarok, alongside her co-workers if some had already shown early.

Rose stepped through the entrance of the bar and felt the cold atmosphere lift slightly. She bee-lined her way towards the VIP section. She entered and caught sight of Cyrus within the VIP area enjoying himself and waiting.

"I assume you're Mr. Marshall? Well allow me to introduce myself personally - I am Rosemary Kato. It's a pleasure to meet you." Rose spoke swiftly and with a soft tone as she sat down besides the older man. She noted his various features that stood out, suggesting that he is a rather experienced individual on account of his scars and implants. Certainly she was no where near his level, having no prior experiences in the military. She at least however had some experience playing mercenary which comforted her slightly.

Cyrus sat sipping his beer as he heard the foot falls on the stairs until newcomer reached the landing. He turned as Ms. Rosemary made her introductions. "Evening Ms. Rosemary." He said taking her hand. "I have read up on you quite extensively. Quite the skilled engineer and a very skilled marksman." He said standing and moving behind the bar. He grabbed a mug and poured her one of the Hollow Points's famous brews, The 45. Caliber. He expertly filled the mug and slid it over to her. "I am sorry about your parents Darlin." He added somberly as he walked back over to take a seat.

"So," he started, trying to change the subject. "why did you choose to come out to this little frozen ball? It is quite a trek to get out here." He asked.

Hollow Point Pub: 1800

Rosemary thanked Cyrus as he slid the drink to her. She would pull the mug up to her lips to drink the brew, tasting the unique flavor and burning sensation it brought. She however kept her drinking down to minimum of small sips as the beer would be strong for someone her weight. Rose would lower the mug afterwards and proceed to talk.

"Why? Well I suppose I assume you've already read about what I had done after my parents died. After that spree, I found living an 'average' life was lacking to say the least. After two years, I grew tired and decided to take a chance with mercenary jobs. I found the familiar feeling I felt when I was on the spree, and I loved it. Now I'm here." Rose would take another small drink from the mug before setting it back down.

"Now, what are you doing here? I mean this bar, the private military, why?" Rose pried, attempting to move the subject off of her.

Hollow Point Pub: 1800

Cyrus laughed. "Well ain't that a story..." He said sitting back. "Used to be a Master Sergeant in the NMC. I started my service when I was 16 and I left when I was 38. I served as a marine for 22 years. I was in my fair share of engagements as you can see." He said showing off his battle scars. "One day some young buck Lieutenant tired to belittle one of my soldiers. I punch the man and called him an incompetent waste of sperm." Cyrus said grinning. "Because of my previous service, the higher ups 'strongly encouraged' me to leave with an Honorable discharge as to not upset my men." He snorted. "After that I went home to find out it wasn't what I had left. I didn't like what had happened so I set out on my own."

He took another swig of his 45. and continued. "I moved to New Belfast 4 years ago, at the very beginning of the 'Gold Rush.' With my savings from over the years and some smooth talking I was able to purchase this dump and was able to turn it into one of the best bars in IceFall." He said proudly. "After a few years, the lawlessness started to grow out of control. People were paying exorbitant amounts of money to any dipshits who could hold a gun, even more for those with training. Plus I kind of miss the military life so that is a plus." He added as he downed the rest of his beer and filled another glass. "And with the right crew, we might make a name for ourselves." Cyrus finished

Icefall

Daniel walked through the cold run down streets with a casual pace. Between the tooth necklace and reptile scaled vest it was clear he was an outsider. He looked around the mostly deserted streets and alleyways noting the sporadic barrel of fire whic warmed huddled beings.

Though clearly from out of town, the overly large knife and .45 at his hip was a decent enough warning for most. His body moved steadily towards the Hollow Point pub but his mind lagged behind as he thought of his dear friends left at his rented room. He smiled as he thought of the two girls and how close the three of them had become.

As he came back to the present he found himself looking at his destination. All in all it looked like a palace compared to the multitude he had already passed.

Hollow Point Pub

Daniel entered the pub and, when confronted by the half Id-Sol, he commented, "G'day mate, Lookin fa Cyrus Marshal. Name's Daniel Apaway, he should be expectin me."

After being directed to the VIP section Daniel entered and noticed the two occupants. Cyrus was easy to distinguish by his scarred and weathered appearance. His body language screamed experience. The woman however looked slightly out of place, but then again so was a delsaurian born bushie like himself.

He approached the table and greeted the duo, "G'day. I believe you were expectin me Cyrus. The name's Daniel. I'm the tracka and hunta you hired. Could a mate get a middy of grog and grab a feed?" Daniel sat across from Rosemary and smiled almost shyly in greeting.

Hollow Point Pub

Cyrus turned to see the newcomer. He stood and shook the gruff man's hand. "I can tell we are gonna get along just fine." He said with a smile. Cyrus moved behind the bar and grabbed another mug and poured another 45. "Here ya go mate." He said, sliding the mug over to him.

He sat back down next to Rose and looked over at Daniel. "So Mr. Daniel, what do you think of the Hollow Point?" He asked taking another sip from his own mug.

Hollow Point Pub

Daniel looked around the room again as he swept his bush hat off his head and laid it in his lap. He self-consciously attempted to smooth down his messy thick hair to no avail.

"It's sweet mate. Good on you fa such a brilliant place. So, whatcha got planned? What's the plan fa us digga's?" Daniel did in fact like the place, especially this section. He was never a big fan of indoors and crowds. He felt trapped and to the avid outdoors man, it wasn't a great feeling.

Hollow Point Pub

Rosemary returned a small smile to Daniel as he sat down across from her in reply to his greeting smile. Rose took in and processed the newcomer's appearance and the way he spoke. Definitely a hunter by the looks of his large knife and tooth necklace. He reminded her of an old figure on TV nicknamed 'The Shosho Hunter' or something.

She sat and occasionally drank the 45. from the mug all the while listened to Daniel and Cyrus converse briefly. Rose would look down into the mug to see that she had not even drank half of what had been poured into it. She chimed in as soon as Daniel had finished inquiring about what Cyrus had planned.

"Yes, I actually am curious as well. What do you have in mind? Though I assume you'll tell us what exactly is going to happen once you see that everyone is here so you don't repeat yourself." Rose directed the question to Cyrus.

Icefall: 1810

Amongst the densely packed streets of Icefall, the assorted undesirables that made up the city's regular foot traffic were joined by a strange sight this particular day. Clad in a garish red padded coat and wearing an (I mean it, really!) honest-to-god FEDORA, a mountain of a man strode casually through the streets with a bulky case slung over his back. Despite his large frame, his ridiculous attire and the airy expression he wore gave him the impression of a traveling musician or hapless tourist, making him seem more like some lost fool than anyone remotely threatening in the slightest.

Smoothly parting the human sea in front of him with his sheer bulk, the smiling idiot strode into the Hollow Point Pub without a care in the world, heedless of all the snickers and whispered insults he was getting. Soon enough, the man was gone from both sight and memory of the assorted locals.

After all, why bother? The lost sheep would probably "disappear" off the streets somehow, sooner or later.

Hollow Point Pub: 1815

"Evening, buddy. Name's John Kennedy, I'm looking for a Cyrus Marshal."

Stepping into the establishment and slipping a little present to the now-smiling bouncer (something for you, Buddy), the big man shrugged off his coldwear and let himself be lead through the place. Now clad in a simple grey shirt and dark green cargo pants, the ID-SOL drew considerably less eyes (though somewhat more attention from the few) as he weaved through the crowd, slipping through the main pub floor and up to the VIP section.

As he sidled into the considerably more furnished area of the building, John took notice of a group of individuals clustered around the center of the polished room. Eyes subtly drifting to the paired revolvers on one of the men, and the oversized knife and slugger on the other, he smiled and lifted a hand in a lazy wave. "Ho there everyone, name's John." he called, voice surprisingly smooth for his physique. "So I've heard one of you's got a job for me?"

Hollow Point Pub: 1815

Cyrus stood placing his mug on the bar. "All questions will be answered soon." He said with a mischievous grin.

Cyrus looked to everyone. "So Lady and Gentleman, you both have accepted my offer for work, but I have left much of what we do a secret." He said pacing. "I have asked you all to come here to form a new PMC. A PMC that strikes fear into the hearts of our enemies. A PMC that is highly respected that the rest of the amateurs on this rock are begging us to let them join. A PMC that has no ties to any government or corporation. We are that PMC. We are Ragnarok." He finished standing in the center of the VIP area.

He cocked an eyebrow. "Now I bet your asking 'Why would I want to join this PMC when I could easily just join another, well respected PMC?' Would any of those PMC give you equal partnership? That is right guys. If you all accept, then you will be the founding members of Ragnarok. We will split all proceeds three ways for now. A 33.3% split on all earnings from jobs. I will however will be running the books so that 33% is after logistical expenditures like ammo, fuel, etc. Still I won't be taking any extra money from this. I am proposing equal partnership to the two of you."

He paused waiting for a response. "Well? Don't look at me like I am stupid, do you accept or not? I won't repeat myself..." He said with a wicked grin.

Rose would switch her attention to Cyrus as he began to speak about the PMC. Her gaze followed him as he began to pace around the VIP area while speaking. Rose's eyes would widen slightly from surprise and interest as she heard the words "founding members". She had come to this planet expecting to work as some regular under Cyrus and this was a rather pleasant surprise. It merely took Rosemary a moment to consider before her mind accepted the offer and she spoke.

"Well, this is a pleasant surprise Mr. Marshal. Here I was expecting to be a mercenary drone under you. I'd happily accept." Rosemary smiled warmly from the aspect of being one of the founding members of what could evolve into a large private military corporation. Honestly however, she didn't quite expect to be down this path. She always thought it would be some sort of engineering job at some large tech company. Things have changed, though she isn't necessarily complaining at the moment. She'd probably call her sister after to brag.

Daniel's eyes widened at the sheer bulk of the man that entered the VIP section. He had met ID Sol's before of course but their size always stood out to the tracker. He greeted him as he came over, "G'day. How ya goin?"

As Cyrus laid out the plan Daniel was intrigued to say the least. It seemed like Cyrus knew what he wanted and was prepared to get his first soldiers in good graces. In reply he said, "Cheers mate, that sounds brilliant. That's an offa that can't be turned down. You got me and me girls fa ya back. You won't regret it."

Hollow Point Pub

Cyrus smiled as if he knew that they would agree. "Well then..." He said walking over to the bar. "You to are now founding members of Ragnarok." He smiled placing his drink down. "Good thing to! Because we already have a job lined up." He pressed a small button underneath the bar which read his fingerprint and IDed him. After the ID match was confirmed a panel of the wall slid down to reveal a staircase. "Follow me." Is all he said as he stepped into the darkness.

As the two walked down the small stair case the wall slid shut behind them. They were brought into the basement area of the Hollow Point. The room was very spartan. On the far wall was a large gun cabinet with two M3 Assault Weapons with several barrels of varying length and multiple stocks and scopes sitting at the bottom. To the right was a cot and a small stand which appeared to be where Cyrus slept. Despite how low key the room looked, the center of the room had an ornate round table with a small holo projector in the center of it. Cyrus ushered them in and had them take a seat at the round table.

"Sorry about the mess. I been searching for partners for awhile now." He sat down pulling out a data jockey. "This is where we will be working out of for a while. It is not ideal, but it was the best I could do. I have been Freelancing for a few years, so I was able to afford to put in the nice security measures and this table, but is where the amenities stops. If we want this to be a real lair for us we need to do some jobs. Speaking of which..." He tapped his data jockey and the holo projector displayed an image of New Belfast. He tapped again and it zoomed in on the city of Frost Mountain. "Frost Mountain is a newer city built near a large ore deposit. The city has recently had an influx of criminals, which has caused the law enforcement there to become very stretched." The map began placing red dots around the city. Soon the map was full of red blips "Each one of those dots represents a crime that was reported. The majority of them have been commited by some new lowlife gang called the Junkers." The map dispersed and a new image formed of three men and one woman. "The city has hired us and three other PMC to find these lowlifes. First one to find and neutralize them will get the reward. 20,000 DA..." He added

The picture dissolved again and showed four wanted posters with basic info and distinguishing features.

The Female was a Lorath: "Garza". Her blue crew cut hair, deep blue eyes, and youthful face showed proudly at the camera.

The first male was a Kodian: "Skullcrusher." He has multi-colored hair and violet eyes.

The second male was a Jiyuuian: "Clay." His short messy hair was dirty and matted. His also had grey eyes.

The last male was a Nepleslian Half ID-SOL: "Tyrone." The massive hulk had jet black hair. He had bright yellow eyes and a scar on his left eye.

"These are our targets guys. We have to find them first to get that reward. Get those rifles over there and prep them just like you like them. There is also some Styrling Muur Armor for both of you. Get suited up. We roll in 15 minutes. Any questions?" Cyrus asked as he stood and moved to begin getting ready.

When Cyrus spoke of a new job already lined up, Rosemary was hit with the unexpectedness of it. Had she been told a contract would follow suit, she would of prepared all of her gear and brought it along. Her thoughts of gripes faded however as Cyrus opened up a hidden passage using a fingerprint scanner. She stood from her chair and followed the man into the darkness that was, taking a few steps through the door with the other hunter before turning back to see the wall close.

Rosemary would continue her way down to Cyrus on the stairs and into the basement. The basement seemed normal and as expected of from a former NSMC veteran. She would sit herself in a chair watching Cyrus as she anticipated a run down of the job. Her attention turned to the holo projector after Cyrus began to speak, processing the information as it was spit out of Cyrus's mouth. She had but one question to ask Cyrus after the run down.

"You're a man of surprises, aren't you Mr. Cyrus? From the 'founder' offer, to the fingerprint secured secret lair, and to this fresh out the oven job." She spoke as she began to move towards the M3 rifles and armor. Rosemary would dress the rifle first, fixing on a red dot sight with an added 6x magnification able to flip to the side if the situation calls for close quarter. Rose would opt to retain a medium length barrel.

Rosemary would don on the Styrling Muur Armor next, fitting it to her body. "Ready." Rose would say quickly.

Daniel stepped back as the hidden doorway opened to a staircase. He hesitantly trailed the two down and into the sparse room. It was odd, he could crawl through miles of suffocatingly small caverns but when he goes underground in a man made structure Daniel always got uneasy.

"Crikey mate, this is some crazy introduction you got going. Full of surprises," Daniel said as he slowly walked around the room.

He listened aptly to Cyrus as he went through the rundown of their pending job. He understood that the local law enforcement could be stretched much too thin with criminal rates like the one displayed. Overall the job made sense but at the same time it was daunting. "Oi, we need to find those four blokes in that whole city? Do we at least have some leads?"

He followed Rosemary to the weapons locker and took the M3. He grabbed a simple scope and a forefrip to help with stability. As he walked to the Muur armor he removed his scaled vest and bush hat, hanging them where the armor previously was. He would have preferred his Muur armor he had back at the room but this would do fine.

He was glad he had left his girls some extra food and hoped the cleaners respected the 'Do not disturb' sign, otherwise the inn would have one less cleaner.

H.Q

Cyrus grinned at both his partners. He turned first to Rose. "Ms. Rosemary, I am shocked." He said feigning shock. "What ever gave you such an impression?" Cyrus took both of his Styrling Man Cannon and spun the chambers. He turned to Daniel."I have a contact in the city who has his ears to the ground. A fellow bar owner." He smiled wryly. "There are plenty of us on this rock." He replied as he dawned his own Muur armor, throwing a black trench coat over it.

He turned looking at the two. "Our ride will be arriving at the spaceport soon, if you need anything from your rooms we can go get it." He said as he moved to the staircase. He turned around and barked out an order that oozed discipline. "Let's FALLOUT!"

As they exited the HollowPoint Cyrus walked with the two in silence for a ways. The three drew a few glances, but were mostly ignored. Cyrus turned slightly. "Tell me, what made you two say yes? I have been looking for partners for awhile. Was it my charming good looks that won you both over?" He grinned.

HQ

Rosemary contemplated stopping by the inn where she housed her equipment and gear. She decided that she would part ways with them briefly and meet the others at the spaceport so that she can gather her own equipment. Not to give off the wrong impression of being ungrateful of the gear she had received, she just preferred her own. His voice cut off her thought as he boomed with the order.

Whatever-Street

"A little of that, " Rosemary indulged Cyrus, "but it would be obvious as to why we would accept your proposal." Rose spoke as she walked along with the others."Who would not accept such an offer? But with that said, I'll part ways with you two for now. I'd prefer my own armor and rifle, since you so kindly brought the matter up before. I'll be returning this-" She motioned with her hand as if to show off the armor and rifle she had been loaned "soon enough."

"I hope this is fine with you, Cyrus. I will meet you gentlemen at the spaceport. And it's not that I don't enjoy your company, I prefer to change and set up alone." Rose awaited for Cyrus to reply for confirmation.

"To be honest mate, I need the money for my family. Huntin got me along ok but I need somethin worth more. And since I've got the skills I might as well use them. You seem like an honest bloke and both you and the lass seem like you can handle yourselves," Daniel awkwardly replied. He felt so unsure of himself when asked directly for his input. He was so used to being on his own with just his girls and his rifle that he sometimes forgot how to be social.

As he listened to Rosemary about getting her gear, he nodded and tipped a hat that wasn't there in farewell. While the idea of his own gear was more comfortable he would then want to bring along his companions, who would be quite out of place in the current state of getting to know his new partners.

"Aye lass, I will stay with the boss and meet you at the port."

Streets of Icefall

"Go on Rose. Meet us in hanger 5" Cyrus said as he continued to walk. He and Daniel walked in silence a ways until the two seemed to pick up a tail. Three large men were now following the two. Cyrus nodded to Daniel. "Looks like the thugs we were hired to find have sent out their own request." He said calmly. "I guess they are trying to eliminate the PMCs that were sent to find them." He unclipped the locks on his holsters. "Get to Ms. Rosemary now, I will handle these thugs. Make sure you both get to hanger 5 in one piece or I will never forgive you." He said drawing his man cannons. "Move damn it, now!" He said spinning and firing one of his weapons into the air. The crowd of people on that street flew into a frenzy as they ran to get away from the gun fire. It provided Daniel the perfect opportunity to escape. As he ran he could hear Cyrus's hand cannons firing nonstop.

Ms. Rosemary's Hotel Room

After leaving the company of Cyrus and Daniel, Rosemary made her way back to her hotel. However she to had picked up a tail as well. Two men had broken off from the group that was following Cyrus and Daniel. After she made to her room and finished changing out her gear, she received a knock at her door. However it wasn't much of a knock, more like the door knocked off it's hinges. The two thugs stormed into her room blocking that exit. The only other exit was the window directly behind her.

"Hey there girly." One of the brutes said, flashing a toothy grin. "What is a pretty lady like you doing with an old fool like Cyrus." He said advancing. "We could show you a good time..."
