I was considering running a rather 'odd' homebrew'd setting in Rogue Trader. It would revolve around a mix of xeno's and human pirates...possibly even a pirate dreadnought...going about the generated sector for the loot. Mid-tier of course.
 
that would be diffidently awesome, but the only thing I could see going gunnybag there is the fact that dreadnoughts would be controlled tech, hell most SM chapters still have to go to the machanicas to get their dreadies repaired/set-up with a new occupants. It would be considered top heresy for a dreadnought (with a SM in it, I'm guessing since no other dreadies exists that I know of. curse the new editions..) to leave their chapter and seek an occupation of pirate.

But past that i might try to throw in, with a retired imp guard soldier. Never got to play RT as a player before, only a GM.
