Hello and salutations, I'm Ohm.

I am brand new here and will be looking around for where to settle in a new character in the coming weeks; I look forward to roleplaying with all of you. :D

I like: Writing, Pro Wrestling, Anime, Grunge Rock from the 90s, Movies with Geoffrey Rush, Beer, and Cognac...and bar crawls...

I work at a Bookstore and part time at a Liquor store. I'm a self published author of "Shorthand" a Hardboiled Mystery novel in the same vein as Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, and Reed Farrel Coleman. It is an E-book only but I've made the copyright costs back so I'm currently evened out! XD

My RP Resume includes: Star Trek Megiddo, PRW RPG, Avatar RPG, and a very short stint on Alone In The Wind (A Gundam RPG). Table top work includes L5R, DND, Pathfinder, Scion, World Of Darkness and Mutants & Masterminds.

I'm looking into the Yamatai, but I'm more than open to suggestions.

Thanks for having me!

Welcome Ohm,
I am Nashoba, one of the Site Admins, I am also a Game Master, and a Faction Manager. I hope you will enjoy your time here on Star Army Role Play (SARP)

Start out by checking our New Players' Guide. It has a great deal of information to help you learn how we operate.

There are technically two types of role play on SARP. We have official plots, which require that you make a a formal character. There are plots for most of the factions, and we have several for some Independent plots. We also have Open Roleplay which are typically non-canon, and you can jump into them just by posting in them.

Being the new person on the site can seem a little daunting, don't worry we are here to help you. If you have any questions about the site, character creation etc, You can post them here, or you can visit our IRC where we have folks online pretty much 24x7.

As for deciding on a plot. You are free to join any plot, and faction. From the List of Active Plots page. Look for plots that say they are open, accepting players. Then visit their page to see what the plot is about, and on their crew page they list what characters/positions they are looking to add.

If you have any questions, feel free to post here, or PM me.

Welcome, Nashoba.

Thank you!

I'm currently looking into some of the Yamatai vessels...so much material, it is a bit dizzying, but definitely robust! I can't wait to lock in an idea and a place to go for.

You sound like you're well-equipped for an roleplaying community like this. It's very good to meet you and I want to personally welcome you. If there's anything I can do to make your experience here smoother or more enjoyable, just let me know.

You mentioned you work at a bookstore. Is it the chain kind or a small indie kind? I have a friend who used to work at one but a lot of them have gone belly-up recently, and her store closed.

Nice to meet you Wes!

I work for one of the last big chains, and even then, we are not exactly shitting in tall cotton right now, to use outdated vernacular.

I have worked for almost seven years for Barnes And Noble. Great place to work, but the hours are awful right now; still love the workplace environment though. And the people are great.

This looks like a great first character, well done!

You can post your character submission in the Submit New Characters Forum, and there is a readme post stickied in that thread with a format to follow. Consider which plot you want to join, and tag the appropriate GM. The character approval staff and your target GM will then review it, and suggest any necessary changes.

Thanks, Flood (Or do you prefer Waters?), got the post, and did some edits for history, so I'm waiting for approval now!
