Gaming Star Trek Online

I've already made an offer to Wes once before to merge his fleet with my own, which has several actives in it.

Tempted to come hang out with you guys in STO sometime, though I have my own fleet which has been around since the game launched, so would feel bad about leaving it.
You could make one of your alt characters the fleet leader so it's still around and safe, and just join with your main character. Or vice versa. And I'm okay with you floating in and out of the Star Army fleet as needed, although we'll hit T4 shipyard soon, putting most fleet ships in reach.

Also, I want to update everyone that we just completed Fleet Embassy Tier 2 (of 3).

As of last summer, I became too busy to play STO but I have a level 50 Fed character and a Romulen character. When I get the time, I'll look up your fleet. The odds are pretty good that I got kicked out of my old fleet for inactivity so I'll see if I can join you.

Edit: I also have a Klingon Character, but I barely use it. LoR brought me back to STO in 2013.

Hey, the Risa Summer event just started today, if you like surfboards, bikinis, and the beach.

Wish I had a bit more time to play... Perhaps in the fall when my little one goes to school I can mess around. I had a old Bajoran Science type character I did some early work with.

They are having that event again? I would jump on and join you immediately but I'm working on applying for college.

I heard something about a new expansion. "The Iconian War?" Is it good?

Well, the whole game has been sort of a build-up to this war and I think it's okay. Not all of the episodes have released yet so I'm watching it unfold.

>.> At the risk of resurrecting a Zombie Thread - Does anyone still play STO? I have an account, two Maxed Fed characters (Tac & Healy science) And I'm looking at getting back in.

Ever since I changed my video drivers to play GTA 5, STO seems to have trouble loading the character selection screen. So I've stopped logging on regularly like I used to. But I could still get online sometime. Last time I played was the end of the Iconian war.

Nah STO Doesn't axe your account, I left mine for about three years and came back to it.

And awesome, I have Sinclair@lordatamus & Jezabel@lordatamus are my two maxed, Tac & Sci respectivly.

Good, I would hate to lose that 'Shard or Possibilities' that I picked up in the first 2 weeks of playing STO!

*Nostolgic Moment of Fighting the Dominion in the Starter Ship*

Good times. I had early access to that series of missions due to the 'Special Episode'. It was fun using that to show off while My friends and I were lvl 10.

lol I have that shard somewhere, think I buried it in my bank somewhere on my Sci officer. I'm working on an Engi-Fed and engi-Rom currently out of boredom, oddly enough, the end game content never really interested me (likely cause I'm not in an active fleet? Or have members to run it with.)

Fed Engineer was the first class I ran during the Open Beta, but I really disliked the emphasis on placeables. I went for science and tactical instead

During a promotion half-a-year ago, I recreated my old engineer character, and I noticed that there are enough kits to not have to put down generators and turrets anymore. What struck me was how much easier the content got with an engineer - most of the stuff going on past the Breen arc, especially the Heralds, end up hitting very hard. With a tactical captain, all you have are consumables. With a science captain, you have your health heals, but that comes only after your shields have dropped. Engineers have access to shield heals and consumables to recover health and they benefit greatly because restoring shields is a much less 'last minute' response to pressure.

As for space combat, while the tactical buffs really can't be beat as far as damage output goes, the engineers ability to reduce drains, up power levels and restore shields and hull on powers separate from the bridge officer powers comes in really handy. Or, at least, it's some of the most obviously beneficial profession-related abilities.

I have a Fed Sci (main), Fed Tac, Fed Eng, Rom Sci and KDF Eng in my stable of characters and I've played pretty consistently for the last five years (I'm probably the most active STO player on this forum). If anyone wants STO advice, just tag me here with any questions.

I'm slowly getting back into playing STO, Sadly my laptop just ate itself, Right as I got back into the swing of my Tac Escorts 'Cannon volley of doom'' playstyle again.

Yes. They're releasing a new faction which is in the TOS timeline, but related to the rest of the game via time travel shenanigans.

...which is a thing now, a big war was won through the development of time travel technology - and now the genie is out of the bag and some characters are starting to misuse it... ultimately leading to the "Temporal Commission" organisation that vessels such as the U.S.S. Relativity timeship from Voyager are part of to preserve the timeline.

The main STO campaign is in the 25th century, and the Relativity comes from the 26th century. So, chronologically, it kinds of stands up that we would start to dabble in such notions.

Interesting. Please inform me if the expansion is amazing. In the mean time, I'll be trying to obtain a replacement for my dead gaming PC (May it Rest In Peace).

<Quick Wiki Search> The Sphere-Builders from ENT come from the 26th Century while the USS Relativity comes from the 29th Century and Daniels comes from the 31st Century...

So, I guess the 25th Century is about the time Starfleet gets over its taboo against Time Travel.

<Continues Reading Haphazardly> ... I feel like I missed something really significant, why did the Federation think using time as a weapon against the Iconians was a good idea?

I haven't spoiled myself on it, but I'm told by reliable sources that the TOS episodes unveiled on the test servers are immersive, very Star Trek in feel, and loads of fun. The guy is more a TOS fan than I am, and he's more picky than me too.

Desperation, nothing else worked, Sela mentioned it really messed with thier minds and they could not time travel, and the krenim had the required tech to get started on it (along with th eIconians going out of thier wait to try and destroy them, lending credence to the threat they beleived the Krenim were).
