Sydney-class Carrier

I think it could use a bit more detail, but it looks like a promising ship design. I like how you decided to go for Daisy power armors, and how the carrier doesn't carry thousands of mecha and rather a more conservative 500.

Hrm. Is the solid Zesuaium plating really needed, especially with Yamatai's current economic situation? Zesuaium hasn't been seeing using much of it lately, and I must say I was very much pleased with that.

Ah? I missed that one.

I agree with SUBLIMEinal. Frankly, I don't think we need the Zesuaium. Just go for Yamataium. *nods* It's not like the carrier is supposed to see battle at the front-lines anyhow.

I wanted to make it tough, since it'll actually land in warzones.

Usually ground troops don't have weapons capable of punching a hole in even Yamataium. The Zesuaium just seems rather excessive.

Make it simply bulky in the front (I haven't read the thing so I don't know about it, sorries.) for that sharp drop-pod esque drop through that atmosphere, able to take a few hits easily.

When you are barreling through atmosphere you aren't going to be targeted by fifty thousand things, you don't need uber armor. As soon as you get through the burning phase you are still going fast enough to avoid the majority of weapons, so its all good.

Really?

When you're invading planets -- especially ones with a defense grid worth anything at all, they will typically have ground-based lasers or other beam weapons that can reach their target in less than a light second. Not to mention the ability to scramble interceptors and launch long-range surface-to-air missiles with heavy, ship-busting warheads.

Any sort of troop transport that is designed for insertion into hot zones needs to have the kind of armor to be able to weather at least a few direct hits from surface batteries, which depending on where you're striking will be light to a extremely, if not prohibitively heavy.
