Tech Challenges Thread

From the NSS Acadia plot...

One of the cars had repeatedly tried to ram its way through the roadblock, the roadblock is fine but the car is not. A parked monster truck about ten cars to the back may be more suitable for the job

There are no actual monster trucks on the wiki... it is time we fix that.

here and I plan on meeting meeting with Wes, Fian, Soresu, Nashoba, and Exhack and get their input on this tech challenge and other more private things.
When I am done talking to them, I will ask Wes to post the conversation for you all in the moderators forums.


On a more postive note Good job though comming up with new tech challenges. Seriously its about time guys.

Fay back. Huzzah!!!! Also I still need a chance for Fred to look at the completely logs; however, but here the general results of the meeting was best summarized by Nashoba response:

Dusk: Besides Uso and me, is there anyone else who desires and would actively roleplay with aquatic technology in SARP? I mean this was kind of a question Wes asked me before about the aquatic standard. I thought I knew the answer, but I later learned I was incorrect about the number of people that wanted to roleplay underwater.

Nashoba: Underwater tech, should be make for specific purposes, and not for some grand scheme. eg: Aquatic weapons to protect personnel from dangerous predatory life forms, tools to help people move and work in said environment.
 
Added a few tech challenges for things I need for Origin. I've been too busy to do a lot of tech building, so anyone who can help is more than welcome to.
 
Tech challenges are cool and I'm glad so many got involved in this. What are the results, if anyone minds me asking, as I can't seem to find all of them?
 
I find the idea of tech challenges interesting. I also never knew we HAD a breaching pod (It would have come in handy a few times). Here is the current tech challanges list https://wiki.stararmy.com/doku.php?id=wip:tech_challenges

  • “Pocket size” survival kit about the size of an Altoids tin that has ration pills and some other bare essentials or mini-kit for filling a hollow knife handle. Preferably for use by any faction.
  • An Article/Doga art about all or one of Azorea's citystates (contact dusk/phacon if interested)
  • Article for a Azorean low end super-power source. For example, open nuclear fusion reactors, Bose Einstein Condensate reactor, Spin-Flip Quantum Reactor, Positron Antimatter Reactor, etc. Alternatively, for what the Azorean's need it for some kind of super waste recycling system would work just as well. (contact dusk/phacon if interested)
  • Underwater Weaponry suitable for Nepleslian Power Armors (IC replies/questions here)
  • Various air to ground weaponry and equipment for Nepleslian fighter craft (IC replies/Questions Here)
  • Police gear and less than lethal weapons for Nepleslian Police.
  • Monster Trucks for Nepleslian Joy-Riding and Ghost-Riding of the Whip.
  • 'After-Market' parts for the Impulse
