Notes: As requested if I wanted to use a higher complexity layout for my star systems I've made this monster, effectively it is for those looking to achieve a higher level of detail on their work. Its a two part setup that places the empire, economic, and military information for a star system on one page and the general stellar and infrastructure data on another. I primarily did this to prevent the page from turning into a singular monster. Anyways discuss.

It may seem monsterous Areig, but I would honestly suggest it be one page. That's just me though.

I really enjoyed the layout you did for this..

It's clean and professional, and while it is two pages, it's a Binary system so it's one solar system with two stars, each containing their own orbiting planetary bodies.

Sadly we can't use the right/left side wrap anymore.

This is something only @Wes and/or the community can reject or approve right? Not like, a single NTSE-only mod(technically trainee)?

Mostly asking for clarification, to be honest.

I mean no offense to @Arieg - but wouldn't it make more sense to keep the pre-existing star system template? It, in my humble opinion, has the following advantages over what is being proposed:
  • It places a vastly smaller burden on anyone trying to create a star system.
  • It is much easier to navigate due to not being split into two articles.
  • It requires far less time to complete due to the lower amount of detail required.
  • It is fully compatible with mobile devices.
  • It is much, much simpler.

As a prospective end user, I find the use of full-frame table infoboxes cluttered and confusing to the eye compared to the current template. Especially on mobile.

It'd be cool to see the same extra information without all of the extra visual junk. Some more empty space and use of wiki formatting elements that lead the eye through the information in an efficient way would be nice.

Posting from mobile, both articles are compatible from all my mobile devices. Both apple and Android.

It's called the more complicated template because it's meant to be more complicated?

I agree with this, clearly.

t places a vastly smaller burden on anyone trying to create a star system.

Again, I feel this is meant to be an optional layout design which I like. I prefer the right wrapped chart.

I agree. It is a little cluttered on the phone. Judging from one of my submissions currently going through the ntse, right and left aligned boxes can be used so long as they do not interfere with the ToC. Maybe this will help.

All of the optional sections clutter the system page.
This is intended for high complexity star systems, such as Yamatai, Nepleslia (the system), and other core systems that will have a massive amount of infrastructure and activity. Thus its going to be cluttered.

Then can this template be optional if it won't pertain to every system?

Thats the intention, the existing star system template is rather... anemic for dealing with heavily inhabited star systems.

I am kinda curious actually... So, non-mandatory template, would this mean that it could be used instead of the normal/mandatory template?

Because.... Yeah I gotta agree with Frost straight up, that kinda causes some confusion for how the template rules would be enforced...
